Man, I am kind of... proud of Nan Zhi? She has finally set a boundary with her mom, even if it did hurt her like hell emotionally. My only hope is that Qin Mi somehow recognizes that physical intimacy is not what Nan Zhi needs at that moment and, in fact, can be quite harmful in the long run.

Wait, one of the creators is the author of Audience with Her Majesty the Queen, which I read years ago.

Hmm, whatever happened to that series? I vaguely remember reading the last chapter where the protagonist leaves her school and friends behind, but haven't heard anything about a continuation since.

Series was complete ages ago, just no translation for the second part.

Ah, okay, thanks for letting me know. :-)

I hope that lesbian friend will show up a bit more, she was cute.

More importantly, she is based, which is IMO the most attractive trait in an Adult life Drama.

"Why does nothing go the way I expect it to..."

Because you act and think like a shitty person and a shitty parent, so your expectations are correspondingly shit. If you were less shitty at either of those, things would go your way considerably more often. :-)

I mean, Makino is the same and things are going pretty well for her.

Even disregarding the fact that Makino (no doubt because of her upbringing) often exaggerates how much of a scumbag she actually is, the key difference between her and her mother is that Makino does not have children and does not abuse her parental and financial authority over them. Being a shitty person and a shitty parent is a lot worse than just being a bad person, so I don't find it surprising that things are going better for Makino. :-)

Not enough going on in the first chapter to form a first impression yet. An awkward shut-in mangaka who saves a random woman from a rapist are two premises that I have seen often enough individually to not be blown away by them in combination.

Yup, let's be real, Hinoka has always been the driving force in this relationship.

Re-read this one for the umpteenth time, and it's still the perfect one-shot I remember.

The gap moe is strong with Mitsuhara.

Also what the hell Aya, how can you be a fan of all those western artists yet not understand English well enough to figure out the lyrics to Mitsuki's song were wedding wovs?

Well, she understood enough to propose to Mitsuki immediately thereafter, if only inside her head.

She should just curse Otome when she gets pregnant that she'll have a daughter that will love her. It works every time. Little-known secret. you have to say "may the child in your belly fall in love with me in your stead." The earlier you say it, of course, the better it works.

Ah, I see you are familiar with structural formulas of love, as well. :-)

I did not expect to find a nuanced exploration of the perils and opportunities of cross-cultural communication and societal integration here, but it was a pleasant surprise. :-)

Let's recap friend by friend.

Hinata - Oblivious as fuck. Can't read the room to save her life, made up for her by her sheer enthusiasm and the force with which she sets up events.
Hirose - Wingmanning. Knows what's up with Takamine and Sakura, doesn't know what's up with Hatori.
Hatori - Ambiguous and go-with-the-flow style. Seems fine no matter what happens, focused on Hirose.
Takamine - Dense and cowardly. This adorable little idiot probably hasn't crystalized her feelings yet but instinctively places herself everywhere Sakura is.
Sakura - Not dense, but cowardly. Knows exactly what's going on but isn't doing anything about it either. Sakura! Take charge you idiot!

The handholding scene makes me think that Sakura is self-conscious in a way I wasn't expecting. Like, she's so aware I'm wondering if she's got some gay anxiety, as in afraid of how Takamine may respond to her gay feelings. So far this manga hasn't really felt like it would delve into that kind of a topic, but it's always a possibility.

Great analysis, especially about Sakura. I haven't really thought about her this way before, but now that you have pointed out some of her behaviors, I have to agree that they make sense. Top!Sakura would be hilarious and awesome. :-)

Hirose is quickly becoming my favorite character in this story.

It got racy with the lewds but at least in the end they used protection

Finally, a manga couple who understand the dangers of unprotected hand-holding. :-)

Why is everyone jumping to murder? That wouldn't solve her lingering attachment at all. Poor girl doesn't need revenge, she needs to be loved. And so, rather than murder, the only solution for our protagonists is to do gay.

Why be gay OR do crimes when you can be gay AND do crimes?

Ah, truly the question of our time. :-)

But now i am curious what happend with the money of a person who had no one to leave it

I think the answer may be buried somewhere in the Civil Code of Japan (book 5, according to Wikipedia), but I am not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice. :-) I'd expect the government to claim any money left over after settling the deceased person's estate and debts, and maybe give it to charity if they are particularly civic-minded.

So, the ending is a bit ambiguous, but did Ana just fall for someone whom she initially mistook for a romantic rival, but who actually had feelings for her all along, while Kyoko has never noticed a darn thing?

THough it's great to See Princess Fussypants get discombobulated by General HotStuff!

That is certainly one of the sentences of our time. applauds :-)

Girl might as well give up. you, so downbad, you can't even SLEEP!

I think the point of these past few chapters is that Nan Zhi can't. Her brain seems to literally have two tracks running in parallel: one which controls her actions and is all aboard the Qin Mi dating train and behaves accordingly, and another which controls her verbal thoughts and dialogue, which denies any feelings she has. I'd say she is a tsundere, but that trope is usually a comedy, while what Nan Zhi has seems to cause her considerable amounts of anguish.

Nanao really went from "Shy girl who knows nothing about sex" to being a dommy sugar mommy.

Nanao is so horny, she has speed-run the "quiet girl to pervy sex goddess" character arc in, like, three chapters. :D

Also love that Serina is becoming a recurring character now.

Word! Serina still best girl.

So it looks like Li Zhixu can conceal her omega glands in a way that fools even a trained professional, but the side effects include neck pain. But considering what Tang Chao said at the start about her genetic disorder, I wonder if Li Zhizu's omega parts are atypical in some way, too? Like, her pheromones are so intense, even betas can smell them, while her glands may be smaller than usual or possibly motile?

please tell me they finally get to fuck

I mean, they already did in the first chapter. :-)

I feel like we might get thrown a curveball and get Alice's La Verità instead if Baiser and Leopard get incapacitated and she's left to fight Magenta on her own.

That would be awesome, but I am not sure even a Dark Magenta can present a large enough to warrant Alice's La Verita reveal, given how Alice has consistently been the second most powerful Enormeeta member after Baiser herself (and, at times, even more powerful than her). It would make much more narrative sense IMO to leave that thread dangling until the final climatic showdown against Venalita.

So based on this criteria, I'd say Shiina is a Psychopath and Seo is a Sociopath, we see in the manga that Shiina has no issue holding a friend group and she easily slots herself in to Satsuki's when she joins the team. She also doesn't go out of her way to hurt people outside of her bullying.

Seo meanwhile doesn't have a lot of close friends and the people she hung out with actively despised her. She is also much more likely to give in to her violent urges, as we see with her multiple attempts to murder people throughout the story. She wants to hurt people and she's willing to go out of her way to see it happen.

Though I re-iterate, neither of these terms is really used in modern medical science and what I've presented here is a much abbreviated version, the actual definitions likely vary a bit and my analysis may not hold up under more thorough scrutiny.

An insightful analysis, thank you. :-)

Also, ch.78 on MD. Last panel on page 12: I think our cute psychopath is also shipping them at this point. ;-D Also, it seems we are finally getting to the Komachi Reveal.

That awkward moment when the author makes you think it's just one of those standalone breather chapters, but it turns out to be part of the ongoing story arc instead.

Also, my Baiser x Azul ship keeps sinking, largely thanks to Leo being such an amazing partner for the former. :-(

Look at Hayafuji acting like a responsible adult (with help), while Meguru falls completely for transparent manipulation like a kid that she is. Almost refreshing to see characters actin their age in a manga.
