The Moke ver. is definitely the worst version of this story. Only in that it leaves out all the small things that build up the characters, yet I still read it because I can't get enough of this series.

I'm still holding out the hope that it's just rushing through the chapters that the old release covered and that it will slow down once it goes past that point..

I think the big change we saw in Shima comes from a bit of introspection after the trip to Nagoya with Tarumi, and then just the hilariousness of her "date" with Adachi following almost exactly the same pattern. Two trips to Nagoya and having to run for the train? Check. Overcrowded with only one seat in the corner? Check. Same chocolate store? Check. It was like her trip with Tarumi was simply an ironic practice run...

Yeah.... you can blame the typos and missed grammar on me. I am not a healthy person, so I had some stuff happen that caused me to get backed up with the chapters, so I went too fast once I was finally able to really put butt-to-chair. Rest assured though when stuff QC misses is brought up here it gets corrected eventually.

I feel like I've got a much better understanding of who Shimamura is now - not so much someone who's dealing with bad memories so much as she's someone who has ambivalent, complex feelings about her memories and how her relation to them changes as she naturally gets farther away from them and changes herself. It's charming.

Looks like it means "somewhere between masc/butch and lipstick/femme" — which comes pretty handy to describe a lot of people! (like Akira)

But I digress. I thought it was pretty obvious that Akira at least tried to make a move on Ayako. To me it seemed like that when she did it was probably after her brother passed and she made a huge faux pas. Hence the "I'd never earn the right to be by her side in my lifetime" remark she made

Because this is an official re-release (read: improved from web version for publication). The art is touched up/made more crisp and defined, and where it seems either needed or just a good idea, some panels are redrawn, some are added new, and sometimes some can be deleted entirely. So far not a lot seems to be different, aside from the art touch ups and the addition of a few extra panels to make a scene more impactful. (Like when Tadokoro goes and starts to cry at Nikaido's compliment of her art, we got a bit of a redraw with some extra panels for that scene that the webcomic didn't have.)

I'm a bit skeptical, only because I can't find a source that says anything, about a double amputee being able to stand or walk with prostheses that mimic real legs. A lot of our balance is controlled in minute changes in our feet.

The fact that we've actually made some pretty great strides (no pun intended) in prosthetic technology aside, we ARE also talking about an alternate world where superheroes do super stuff and even have a base floating up in space. Having prosthetics in that world that are able to more closely mimic real limbs isn't that far out in the realm of possibilities, especially given how close we can come to it in our own world. (I admit I had my own minor gripes about things like how little she had left below the knee and not wearing a stump sock, etc, but then I reminded myself of the above...) Nor is such a stretch that someone who is a healing super could figure out how to move more "normally".

It's because I believe the original term Mimi used was "jiji", which is usually interpreted as kind of like "dirty old man". For whatever reason the translation used a literal interpretation. She wasn't meaning to literally call her an old man, she was just calling her a pervert, more or less.
