From the various hints dropped through the story - including how both of the siblings react to the topic, and the passing reference to how Uta was when she first moved in with Reiichi and Kaoru - it's fairly apparent that their parents are pretty terrible at, well, being parents. When you're effectively having to adopt your kid sibling just to give them a healthier home than your parents did... yeah.

all we know right now is

• 5 years ago kaoru s mom and uta s mom were involved in a accident that result in the dead of kaoru s mom and utas mom losing her license and going abroad to be able to practice medicine

• she did it without telling her husband or kids

• we know that uta s worst moments were 5 years ago

• we know about uta s mom bad personality

to me the logical conclusion is that from the beginning uta had a bad relationship with her mom, and when she left without a word after the accident with kaorus mom she felt abandoned, angry, lonely and she also felt that was her mom s falut that kaoru s mom died that´s a lot for a kid to handle

at this point of the manga anything can happen really, but if uta and kaoru end up together at the end this is going to be netsuzou trap but even worse

reading this chapter was a rollercoster of emotions at firts i was so happy and delighted by the cutness of the chapter then at the last page i was so shocked by kino´s reaction after procesing the chapter i got really impressed that the manga took a step forward and start advancing the plot so early and finallly i just start laughing non stop while imagining yori senpai singing despacito all along

i acutally like the koko x myako ship i don´t think the myako x hana works at all
for me there´s two type of loli manga that works, the one´s that go maximum overdrive; and don´t give a fuck about anything like some itou hachi´s work
and the ones that tackles the subject in a more realistic way like yuzumori san or maybe hoshikawa ginza district
(by the way i enjoy both please don´t judge me im a simple man)
but with wataten i can´t suspend my disbelievef like i do with master an mel because the manga itself acknowledges that hana doesn´t fell confortalble dressing like that and finds miyako ´s behaviour creepy
but i can´t take it seriously either becuase the manga never deals with the issues that the manga itself presents
in my opinion the relationship between hana and miyako is by far the weakest part of the manga
