Star Ocean 5 confirmed. JRPGs are dead they said.

We have some pictures... http://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/imagenes/22096/0/star-ocean-5/ Dat green haired tho

Just for the pictures, I can't help but think that it will be very generic, not the history or the gameplay but look at the hero and the girl.... LOOK AT THEM! they didn't take risk with the formula

Expecting JRPGs to have non pretty boys and kawaii uguu girls is like expecting people to be nice to each other. It's not going to happen.

Wiki gives me this : The term bridegroom dates to 1604, from the Old English brȳdguma, a compound of brȳd (bride) and guma (man, human being, hero).

It can still be gender neutral, and you can be a hero!

I think his attitude last chapter is evident he isn't very innocent. From the "tsk tsk" over Seol-a getting drunk to calling it "fucking embarrassing" after No-rae scolded him for using "shameless tactics" which obviously hit the nail on the head as he immediately admitted to himself that he was "found out." None of that is the personality of an awkward guy with a crush.

All of this is probably true but that doesn't mean he can't still be awkward.

I've once met a guy in college that was like this. He was unable to be in any sort of discussion and build a relationship with women but he still got laid. The women he slept with also did not like him sober either.

Edit: Most probably he's just a scorer, but you never know.

Is that not contradictory to you wanting to play for a long time? You'd want it to be harder to get good rolls.

Well if you don't get this feeling of success every once in a while you'll get frustrated ;) also with 6 characters getting perfect equip for all of them already takes many, many hours of your life (at least enough until the next part of the series comes out)

I prefer the "there's no way in hell you can have perfect characters" approacg to games with abundant loot. Because it's too quick otherwise.

What made players play Diablo 2 for over a decade? People are still playing it right now, albeit mostly on non-ladder. It's because it's mathematically unfeasible to get the best gear. When you get an incredible rare or crafted items with 6 rolls being great it's like winning the lottery.

I thought that was his thing, getting women drunk to score. But it might have been exaggerated by the dudes No-Rae overheard, although I don't see why they would exaggerate when there is nobody to Impress.

Considering he was eyeing her up since the start of the series I doubt he's the type that wants to "score". I think he's just supposed to be an awkward/creepy guy.

I'm confused by your wording here, are you saying items in BL2 is easier to obtain perfect items or the contrary?

It's easier since weapons have less part variety. Sorry for weird wording and stuff. It was getting late.

Is that not contradictory to you wanting to play for a long time? You'd want it to be harder to get good rolls.

Randomly stumbled upon a yuri webtoon ( NSFW ) when browsing a chinese scan site, only 1 chapter.

I did not like Borderlands 2 loot system. Too restrictive with stats, only certain effects available with companies. When you looked at the amount of items possible to generate you can see that It was a downgrade. That and the fact you could not get incredibly good items that could drop better than legendary meant you farmed bosses for endgame all day errday.

Overall I did not enjoy as much as I could for this reason ( and a few minor others ).

If you are comparing it to BL1 then it's true that BL2 has less Weapons if you compare ALL parts. But if you only look at the weapons itself it has pretty much more of everything with less variation in it's stats making it overall easier to optain perfect versions. Also if you look at it, There were some pearlescents and Seraph items that were better than Legendaries (heck even some uniques! My Gaige didn't use a single item that was above blue rarity). Sorry for being a girl with waay too much time on her but I like games that make me play them for a very long time ;)

I don't shy from conflict, or I would have stopped posting here. I just don't particularly enjoy it. Anyway, this is not about me, this is about FF.

In the end, after thinking it through, I know what's keeping me from enjoying FF completely.

In MY opinion, which doesn't seem to be shared (but I don't care), the characters in FF are really good (and I want to know how it's going to work between them,) because the author thought a lot about their personality and obviously put much love in them, but the way the plot moves forward is weak because the author uses weak devices.

I'm sure we can agree to disagree about that, and that's it.

I think this is much better than your earlier critics, which I think you weren't exactly sure about what you didn't like.
I can understand you feel slightly dissappointed by the devices that move plot compared to the richness of the characters.
'
I personally think that's a fair remark and I don't entirely disagree.

I really like when authors do extra chapters/volume extras that tells us what was originally intended but changed, a lot of insight in those few pages.

I'd really, really, REALLY want something like this for Code Geass, the complete destruction of the original plans for the second season is something that makes me sad to this day

I don't know what was changed but I always thought one of the weakest points of S2 was the completly retarded plan of Charles and Marianne. The whole time we see The Emperor with his 108 waifus being this incredible being and that was his end plan? I enjoyed S1 a lot but S2 was such a mess on so any levels. Although Lelouch dying a /v/irgin was always in their plan.
It's like Cross Ange last season, real crazy not making any sense in there.

I never got the License board hate. Sure you can make clones but is that not the player's fault and not the system?

Yeah, but at the same time it's quite exploitable, heard reports about black mage with heavy armor being quite the something, i like the idea of committing with one job and dealing with the restrictions of it's own license board, although the zodiac system version has quite the useless job, poor Machinist can't catch a break

On other news i've finally beat Zone of The Enders 2nd Runner, only 7 hours to complete but maan what a game! Some set pieces are so chaotic and the effects so beautiful that i can barely believe it was a ps2 game running at 60fps
Can't really recommend the first game, but if any of you get the opportunity to play the second, do it!

60 FPS has been a thing for a long time but devs now prefer engines that allow you to put so much useless "immersive" shit on your screen instead. I hate them and their silky smooth 30 FPS meme.

I think he even wanted to quit with Son Goku dying at the cell saga but got talked into doing the Boo stuff afterwards.

The ammount of changes from Toriyama's original idea is incredible
He wanted Z to be about Gohan but the demand for Goku was high, he wanted to end after Freeza but oh well, the androids 17 and 18 to be the bad guys but editors came around saying they're not good villain material, he wanted Cell to only go to his second form but got talked out of it, wanted to end after Cell but Buu happened, not even sure if there's stuff like that for the Buu arc but probably yes, i'm not entirely convinced he planned all the Gohan power up only to have him land 4 hits on Buu before getting absorbed

It's a bit sad thatcreative process has to be influenced by money but he's like any person, dude got to eat. There's such a big incentive to continue succesful works because most mangakas don't "make" it and those that do often only get 1-2 great selling series, and that's if you're in the money making demographic.

Oh yeah, FFXII is great, the only thing i can complain about that game is that the music can be quite uninspiring at times and the shared License Board that can pretty much make every character be the same Which is completely fixed in the International Zodiac Job System

Edit: Craaap, accidentaly opened a Let's Tap on a /v/ thread and now i'm doomed for the rest of the day

I never got the License board hate. Sure you can make clones but is that not the player's fault and not the system? You can make the warrior, the white mage, and any other archetype you want. To me it's the same as people mad at combat systems like Dragon age, real time but pausable. If you want turn based you can! If you want real time you totally can as well.

I guess such free system is like giving a rope. Some people will use it to their advantage, some will just hang themselves with it by mistake.

Edit : Anyone else played the FF 15 demo? Starting to feel really scared.

Anyway, I think that my critics make sense. Actually the start of the relationship between Seol-a and No-Rae (the guy trying to strangle her and No-Rae to the rescue) was odd too. Why would you use a baseball bat on some random guy? Any normal person would probably have screamed at the top of their lungs. That's what I would have done if I had witnessed such scene.

Um, this might what you of done but using force on someone assaulting another person isn't something a "normal" won't do especially for acquaintance/friend/loved one. Granted I would of not aimed for the head because that can turn into a deadly blow very fast, but it's the way base all bat hits happen in all fiction. It's the one hit knockout.

For future reference, first hit should be on his side for cracked / broken ribs and air loss. Second hit should be to the kneecap or Tibia to shatter bones, it sorts of pretty much immobilize your target. Should be fairly easy since his body will naturally go to the side and expose his legs ( coping with the hit ). You then can go for the takedown and immobilize them while calling for assistance from cops/other people. If it's not enough because bad hits/not enough force, just hit the legs again.

Now you all know how to beat someone up in the particular position the guy was in if you happen to randomly walk in a situation like this with a bat.

P.S. This is totally doable if you passed bio in high school and know how the body moves.

I've been replaying FF 12 slowly but surely amongst all the other things I'm playing/doing and I'm loving it.

I liked it the first time around but I think it's been underrated by many and certainly by myself in the past. It does a lot of things right that I did not give it credit to. It's now pretty high up in my FF tier list.

Only if you didn't take 2 seconds to research the title.

Well you see, the thing is, none of us particularly want to hear your negative opinions about a manhwa that we love. I honestly can't tell sometimes if you actually enjoy FF, because it always seems like you're attempting to bash it one way or another. I mean if I had an unpopular criticism about a manga, I wouldn't go on that manga's forum thread to post it, and then suddenly expect other fans to respect my criticism without a word of rebuttal.

For some people, the more they love something the more easy it is to find flaws ( real or perceived ) wish wasn't there. Ask a person about his partner's negative points he/she wished was fixed, prepare for a damn long list of every minor detail. That's because if the small things would be fixed... the subject would be perfect in their eyes, literally 12 out of 10.

As for unpopular critism, well maybe you would avoid conflicts and not go to that fansite or whatever. Maybe you avoid conflict and that's fine but I think going into the opponent camp and being on the opposite side is great for debating. There's going to be a lot of dissenting opinions and this will just reinforce or change one's perception at the end.

Being a contrarian is a great mental exercise in itself.

Those are both correct; Famitsu has the issues of being stodgy and predictable, and Yakuza is good because it is absurd in many different meanings of the word.

To be fair to Famitsu, Japanese news is pretty bad at the whole critical thinking journalism.
You wouldn't want to upset anyone by saying something mean that might rustle some jimmies.

Anyone here plays the Yakuza series? Was hooked when I played it on my PS2 when it was first released. It's not really popular outside Japan, plus I don't know anyone here who actually played it. Absolutely recommended if you're willing to give it a shot. I would suggest starting from Yakuza 1. With emulators, you can actually upscale them and make em look HD if you've got powerful PC to run it.
To those who played it:
Have you heard about the localization of Yakuza 5?? Man, after 3 years SEGA finally listened to us! THE WAIT IS OVER!!! Super hyped for this game to come to US! It's got PERFECT score by Famitsu btw

Yakuza is a fun franchise, I think I played a game of it on the PS2. While I have no doubt the newest game is fun in the same way the others were. Quoting Famitsu for Japanese games with degree of renown is not really any indication that the game is great.

Like seriously, I don't see them going under 37/40 with their country's product. They're even worse than IGN 9+/10 automatic rating of any triple A titles.

I don't know about yuri but I'm going to be watching/try the following :

  • Arslan Senki
  • GiTS Arise new content
  • Lupin 3
  • Digimon sequel / reboot
  • Triage X

The first because I haven't read the manga since I waited for it to pile up, might as well watch it. Arise because I'm already watching the movies. Lupin cause why not? Digimon with first season crew mainly for nostalgia, I might end up regretting it in the end but who knows. Triage is my guilty pleasure, based XEBEC. Although I might just use 4chan pics/webms and not watch the full episodes, that's what I usually do with those echi series. It's not like the story...

Again spring is pretty lackluster just like winter was.
