This sounds like a lot of "Is a fictional character ship morally and ethically okay to ship based off their complicated and fairly vague non-human traits that don't apply to real life?", that I see fandoms debate and discuss a lot. I think it's often a silly thing for people to worry about, but I know fandoms and shipping culture well enough to know that people will shame people and thought police people over the ship. I really think there's more important things in life to worry about lol

(Also I'm not saying anyone here is doing that, I'm only commenting on how I think people on general social media will probably engage based on my overall experience with fandom and shipping culture, plus social media in general.)

It feels like they won't end up together? Which would be a really depressing end in my opinion...

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but the impression I keep getting is that Xingyuan will leave Peach Town and pursue a life that her parents want, in terms of education and career, leaving Xiaoen behind in order to live out the life that family and society thinks Xingyuan should have. Which would be a terrible way to end the series in my opinion, so I hope I'm wrong.

I really don't see this happening, it would go against the spirit of the entire story so far...

I personally don't agree with that reading of LWA. Plus if we're talking about Andrew he feels a lot more like a side character that's in the show for a little bit, but doesn't really matter. While Shuji is way more intrusive to GCucks as a whole. Also I personally think LWA is a lot more than visual animation gags, and at least the series was written by Michiru Shimada, a woman that is no longer with us unfortunately.

Another thing is when it comes to shipping LWA is a series I actively seek out content for various ships of, mainly Akko and Diana, compared to GCucks where I don't actively seek out shipping content for the series, but if I see good ship material such as this doujin I'll enjoy it. So there's a big difference between the series for me at least.

Oh ok. Yeah I could see that. That would be a sad way to end, for sure. There's still a lot to go before the ending, so we'll see.
