"I'll let your hear it (I like you) many time, if you let me do what I want to do". It sounds like something a teenage boy would say, to his girlfriend, in the backseat of his dad's car. I mean that's right up their with, "if you love me, you would do this for me", and "It will hurt, if we stop now".

I still don't get the logic of a woman throwing herself at man after man, when she is trying to move on from a one sided love with another woman. It just seems at one point she would think to herself "I can't seem to connect with any of the guys I date, and I'm still hung up on my female best friend. Could I possibly be a lesbian"?

In plenty of parts of the world, attitudes towards lgbt folk are still negative enough that a lot of the time you just don't consider it a possibility. I have heard a woman tell another woman that "all women have fantasies about sleeping with their friends" as evidence that woman 2 wasn't bi. Heteronormativity is rough.

I've been thinking this one over I think my criticism stands. These two don't seem to be afraid of their feelings for each other. I assume they are hiding their feeling for each other because they are worried that their feelings are unrequited and don't want to risk destroying their friendship. Once the women discovered they both felt the same way, they couldn't wait to give into them. No guilt, nor trepidation about being with another woman, just love.

You're not lgbt are you

Ouch! Is it that obvious? No I'm not. However I'm always looking to understand the lesbian community better.

gomezio posted:

This yuri manga feels so hetero. Like it imported every cliche from your avarage romantic comedy manga and just made the MC girl and gave her an actual personality

I don't understand what this means at all. Why does a yuri romcom have to be fundamentally different from a het one? Like obviously there are things unique to same sex relationships that can come up, but in a light-hearted romcom it's not really necessary to address all of those things.

The comment only makes sense when you change the word hetero with cliche or "formulaic", because yes in romance manga you can find situations like this one but it has nothing to do with yuri or het.

Wait aren't all romances formulaic? I mean there is like only a half dozen standard romance plots. When you go to make a romance, you take a plot out of the box, dust it off, dress it up with some new twists, add some fresh characters that will be relatable to your target audience, sprinkle in a spicy setting, heat to a boil then serve with popcorn on date night. That's how the Hallmark channel churns out like a dozen of the damn things a month.

(sigh) I've somehow missed the last 9.5 chapters. The last one I read was the chapter where Sumika pulled Ito into the pool. I could see a chapter or two slipping past me but I can't fathom missing 10 updates!? I guess I have some reading to catch up on.

Ah man this great, all of the classic first love anime tropes, with no guys in sight. It's yuri at it's cutest.

I think I get it now. This is the old "cool" type girl, secretly want to be the "cute" type girl plot. I've seen a bunch of yuri stories like this. The "prince" of the all girl class secretly wants to be more feminine, but hides it because she believes she will never be able to pull it off. Then comes the girl who figures out the truth and sets out to teach the "prince" that she really is a princess. Bonding, friendship, and if, us "up front" yiuri fans are lucky, romance ensues.

I hope this isn't the type of story, where the author uses dancing partners as an ambiguous metaphor for a romantic relationship. I like my yuri more up front than that.

I've been catching up on this series. Somehow I missed a bunch of chapters. It's sweet easy going flirting with just a touch of lighthearted drama to keep it interesting. I just have a couple... um... concerns. I find, Hina's younger sister being a complete hound (If you know what I mean), A little weird. Hina is innocent and a bit naive. However her sister is a dating, and apparently, mating pro. It just doesn't add up.
I also find the sexist stereotypes a bit annoying. I mean Yayoi's friend giving her practice dishes, so she could be a better wife! I nearly broke my eye sockets with the eye rolling.

I don't understand why romances between a broken person and a young woman, bent on fixing them with her love, are so popular. I think this is terrible message to send to wide eyed, impressionable girls. It just seems like it would set them up for a lot of heartbreak and sorrow. If not worse.
Oh well, at least instead of a misunderstood bad boy, it's misunderstood bad girl this time. For some reason that makes it easier for me to root for them. Even though I know it shouldn't.

John Oliver on the comedy news show Last Week Tonight did a segment on Japanese city mascots. He even created one for the show. Then had the mascot travel to japan and meet a city mascot. The mascots became friends. It was sweet, in a totally creepy way.

Oh ho ho is funny because vile sex crimes is being done by girl.

You know nobody forced you to read if you don't like. You see by the title and the tags what it will be about.

Oh ho ho is funny because Lilliwyt took obvious joke seriously.

I'm just not understanding the dynamic the professor was going for when she created the android's personality. I mean I guess I get the bdsm thing if you're into that. But being angry over selling the boob mask seems, I don't know, just kind of annoying.

Non science baby? Science baby? Either way the sunny be shining bright.

It's pretty clear that she's from a failed marriage by reading the page 00526.

What do you mean? I reread that page and even the pages around it and found nothing that proofs Hina was from a failed marriage.
Not that I think she is a science baby. Hina calls Ritsu by her name, instead of something appropriate for a child to call an actual parent. Besides I think something as fantastical as Science babies would need to established not just assumed to be the case.

That was so cute I want more. I know I'm being greedy, but I couldn't help but want to see Chisato and Ritsu get lovey dovey. Nothing hardcore or anything. A romantic kiss or a little flirty dialog would be perfect.

Are we suppose to know why Yuzu got weird when Mei asked to postpone her birthday party? With short chapters, and long gaps in between It's hard to keep track, and I don't have the ambition to go back and reread every time a new chapter comes out.

I think it’s the obvious—Yuzu had great expectations (of some kind) about her birthday party, but god fucking forbid she should actually express her disappointment to the person who she’s supposedly closest to in the world, and for Mei to explain why the party needs to be postponed and to express some understanding of how Yuzu must feel would be to violate the fundamental laws of the space-time continuum.

You're probably right. It just we always just celebrate family birthdays on a convenient weekend around the day, so the thought didn't occur to me.

I keep think mei is a robot
How can this girl be so emotionless????

What I want to know is how the MCs seem to have lost about 5 years of maturity from the opening chapters of the original series until now.

Their first emotional breakthrough with each other was about communicating their feelings; now they sit across the room from each other, tongue-tied and blushing like 6th graders.

Im my opinion characters in manga do that alot. My theory is that their ability to communicate, is based mainly on how long the author wants to stretch a story arc out. Think about it how many simple misunderstandings become major rifts between characters, that take several chapters to resolve, because one character inexplicablely refuses to speak their mind.

The story has gotten a lot better after those first couple borderline rape-y chapters. I'm glad I've stuck with it.

With that said, was I the only one thinking Aya was giving Marika a roofie colada.
