well, that escalated quickly

And yet, it didn't feel rushed. From a story-telling perspective, that take skill. Nor do we get that angsty, "OMG, what have I done?!? I need some distance now," cliché that usually follows a first chapter bedding. They just seem like a really cute, cozy couple with a lot yet to discover about each other.

An excellent start. Unique. Mature-ish characters. Superb pacing. Definitely goes on my Follow list.

Thanks for scanlating this. Looking forward to more.

Edit: Okay, weird... when I came to the comments page, it said there were only 25, and I didn't see any option to view page 2 or 3. Sorry if this post feels like it skipped half the discussion.

Ohana Holo Holo is one of my faves, partly because they're not a typical romantic couple.

I suggest starting with a search through Adult life groupings and one-shots.

Really though, with those requirements, I can't think of anything that tops the afore-mentioned Collectors.

For anyone interested in supporting the author: A Silent Voice, volume 1 is available in hard copy in the U.S. Just picked it up from the local bookstore.

Tragedy tag, please?

Damnit, my day was just shitty enough that this was enough to set me off sobbing for the last ten minutes. (I'd totally have enjoyed it on any other day.)

How I'm supposed to read those tiny, TINY letters?!

By clicking the Resize button on the top right of your screen.

...
How many mangas I haven't read because I missed THAT button?!

Damn. That's so much easier than zooming to 450%

Let's see... naked groping, followed by alcohol, followed [presumably] by more naked groping....

The next chapter totally needs to be "The Next Morning"--
"Kyaa! What have we done?!?"
"No idea, but I'm feeling re-e-ealy limber."

I like the MC, but the story feels rushed. You don't usually see a confession that early except in comedy manga. I do like that it's in a co-ed school, though. Not enough of those.

Well, it's still early in the series...I'll give it a couple chapters before forming a solid opinion.

Well, "parents of your significant other" is an important position in Japan. You need to meet them before marriage, make a good impression when dating, that sort of thing. So to show up dressed at your worst really isn't a good idea.

Not just in Japan. I remember one of the biggest stumbling blocks with getting my Thai in-laws' blessing wasn't that they didn't like me but that I didn't put enough effort into impressing them. To put it in perspective, meeting the future in-laws is like trying to sell yourself in a highly competitive job interview, even when you think you're the only candidate.

You know, there's something that's been bugging me a long time about this series: how the heck does she teach Home Economics?!? Unless the class is something very different in Japan, I just don't see it.

Excellent series. Deserves more comments. I am so looking forward to the official release of volume 3. Sensei's reaction after the dream is just priceless. Must own.

I think that blush was the first sense of any yuri I've seen in this, but I'm enjoying watching things play out between them.

So the three stories I'm actively following come from Korea, China, and Thailand. (All of which are excellent IMHO.)
Is Japan having a manga drought right now? Feels like I haven't found anything new worth following in ages. (No, not seriously looking for a response. Just lamenting.)

I love stories like this: all laughter and butterflies. But this release schedule ... my poor heart.

That extra was SO cute, but now I'm dying to know how their relationship progressed to that point.

Triangle Struggle: Well, that was a struggle; now where's the recycling bin?

To be fair, it did actually start out better than Citrus. It was a comedy that didn't take itself too seriously. Then it quickly devolved. But then, I'm just not into gratuitous, well, anything. I'd guess that the people who came to read this one because of the NSFW tag found the story pretty disappointing until the mood flipped. Which I guess just means that there's a little something here for everyone to hate ... or love, take your pick.

Their relationship reminds me a little of this line by Hachisuka that starts, "I think love is..."

Great. Loved it. Now, pardon me while I slip out to earn a PhD in quantum mechanics so I can understand WTF I just read.

The moment I saw Mika-san, I'm like, "Hey, isn't that the teacher from 14-sai no Koi?" Didn't realize they were by the same author 'til then. She handles innocent romantic tension just beautifully.

Own the hard copy, but I still miss the scanlation. There are some subtleties that the official version just doesn't quite nail.

That second to last page gets me choked up every time. Easy to miss, but Mari keeps the print-club photo of her and Akko kissing hidden inside the battery compartment of her phone. I get it, but it still breaks my heart that their relationship is so secret.

Re: ch56, sorry, but by two pages in, I was in a diabetic coma. I don't think I could have cared less what happened after that. Shino-chan is just way too adorable.
