I honestly haven't even managed to bring myself to read more after the first volume. The worst case of localization I've seen in a while, with the quiet Japanese loner Koyuki sounding like the stereotypical popular American cheerleader, to the point that I can physically hear the bubblegum.

This series puts a HUGE smile on my face, it's so fun to read. Discovering that Takuya's dad got a girlfriend 10 years younger than him made me laugh so hard and I thought to myself: "It's in the family". Wonder if Takuya will get a milf of his own lmao.

I really want to see more of this, cause it's so fun to read.. See you guys on the next one.

I also finished reading this with a huge smile on my face. It was just a blast.

It was fun, but it's always the same issue with romance stories - "woo, finally some progress ... oh, it's over".

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't really view this as an "issue". More so just a style of story telling, where we've reached the goal of having the couple happily get together. Maybe the author doesn't want to do a ton of exploration past that, instead simply leaving it up to the reader's imagination. Another reason why I think this style of story telling is valid is that I prefer things not drag out, and at worse the author burns out.

Ultimately I read a fun series, it ended on a happy note. The ride was enjoyable, and I feel good. I understand why some people might not be content, but personally I am.

And yet, if I’m completely honest... I can’t say I wouldn’t have it turn out in a similar way.

And the author has pretty much established the pattern going forward: each Amalreiks member has a tragic past they can’t escape, and doing so means a very likely death. No face turn without immediate consequence.

If the author does somehow defy that here, I’d honestly be (pleasantly) shocked.

I can definitely see this going "as expected", but on the other hand, unlike Spirits' mom who had already died and been raised as an Amalareiks, Mai has at least so far been shown to be her usual, albeit broken self, simply using her ninja skills, so there may still be a way to save her.

Yeah it would be nice if it defied the pattern here, since if it continued the same pattern for the whole series it would make every enemy encounter and the results too predictable, and also again frustrating imo.

I know a lot of people love Genshin, but I find it to be more frustrating than most other gachas I've played. I've played it a good amount, and I feel like the game is often intentionally designed to work against you. I won't go into it too much, but take for example needing artifacts for all the characters you use, needing to grind out getting the right main stat followed also by sub stats. Combined with what artifact sub stats level up being RNG based. That's all I'll say, since I don't want to go too off topic, but hey more power to the people that enjoy the game and don't mind that system. I still like the character designs, and enjoy certain aspects of the game, so that's why I'm here.

The whole story kind of gave me the vibes of "getting married to fix a broken relationship", which is never a good sign (except of course there is no marriage for I'm assuming legal reasons.) I didn't like it as much as most of you did.

I don't think they had a broken relationship, nor did I get the same vibes as you did. The relationship wasn't moving forward as much as either party was really wanting. The Barmaid wanted the Doctor to overcome her tendency to overthink everything, so she gave the Doctor a bit of a push. Their relationship moved forward, things ended happy.

Very true. Though I think while this series defies certain things, and sometimes people are successfully saved, it does often like to play into tragedy as well.

Yeah I think it should be 8 years since graduation. Also yeah it sounds like their previous relationship was only casually sexual, but now as adults they're exploring beyond that.

Thinking that they could give up their bond so easily after this makes me sho shad.

Well in the end they got together again, so I think that's what matters and is a good reason to be happy instead of sad :)

Hello I'm looking for a One-Shot I believe I read on here 1-2 years ago, I believe with the shift of the Era in Japan. Where it had an all around positive message about how maybe in the Reiwa Era there will be positive changes for views and policies when it comes to same sex couples. It was an original doujin, and maybe not exactly like that? Unfortunately my memory is fuzzy, thanks in advance for any and all help!

Normally I'm often forgiving of tropes and clichés, but having the sister die/sacrifice herself just makes me groan. It's so...predictable, and unnecessarily tragic. I feel like authors often just have to make things tragic for the sake of tragedy, and that people get off to tragedy. So we end this arc with me feeling frustrated, unfortunate.

At this rate the series will end with her sandwiched between both sisters, while all parties involved are in the nude.
