Lack of yuri tag means I was completely ignoring this for its entire run. Having heard some people complaining about its ending elsewhere, I decided to look at the last chapter. I can only say I'm grateful to whomever had the discipline to avoid tagging this yuri without evidence. I was saved from 44 other chapters of wasted time. "Even if we never meet again, we'll always be friends" is a Japanism that never fails to infuriate me. I can only imagine how bad it must've been for the people who were actually invested in this title.

I think you're cutting off your nose to spite your face by not reading it. For the sake of no confirmed yuri, you'd be missing out on a quite good slice of life series about two roommates who are very close indeed, with some quite satisfying funny bits and a dramatic thread that runs throughout, although that part isn't wrapped up very well.

Not to mention, the stretching. The stretching!!

Now in retrospective, I'm not sure if was a good idea to start reading this.
The ending without yuri and rushed like no tomorrow really leaves a terrible sour aftertaste.
Maybe I'm just still too angry and need to give it time to put in perspective...

I thought the ending was great. It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough. Sure, a lot of the issues like Keiko's boyfriend and Ran's father wasn't really resolved but even in reality, loose ends aren't always tied. The series never promised yuri but more of a bona fide friendship between the two MCs, so I think that the viewers who think the ending was mostly bad and/or rushed were deeply rooted on the idea of a "yuri end", it was the be-all and end-all but it sadly did not go this route.

Btw, I didn't read this I just wanted to drop in and remind people of something. Higashiyama Shou is not a yuri mangaka. 90% of what he writes is het lolicon hentai. Prism is not representative of what he normally does. I don't know if you can expect more yuri from him in the future, but, in any case, its not good to assume that whatever he writes is going to be yuri or even yuri-ish... because its usually not going to be. Cheers.

Being from the author of Prism and with the HUGE amount of subtext and shiptease, and the HUGE hints that Ran is gay the natural thing is having hopes for a yuri end.

Well, I liked the ending (i know i'm not the only one) and I'll miss this piece of teasing garbage. I'll miss it so much. </3

Seriously? Yuri bait and switch aside, feels so rushed that hurts.
For me felt like the equivalent of ending a roleplaying campaign with "Rocks fall, everyone dies."

Well, I think it reflects reality just fine. Really, how many times do we get a happy ending in real life? Plus.. this "rushed goodbyes" happen a lot on a daily basis, life IS that fast, even more so when you have to work and do adult stuff like Ran and Keiko.

Don't get me wrong, i would have loved a yuri ending, but i'm totally okay with this last chapter, it fits the story just fine.

A rushed ending is rushed, regardless of the realism. It's as if Shou wanted to wrap things FAST. For whatever reason.

If we speak of realism, he could have ended the series with Kyouko being killed by a car when crossing the street. Realistic? Of course. People die in traffic accidents a lot. But would be a stupid ending regardless.

Plus, for realism I already have real life.
