Mid season top 3 update: Sangatsu, Rakugo, & Maid Dragon.

LWA needs to start having an actual plot or become as crazily fun as Luluco if it wants to get back into top 3. Also picked up Onihei again. Still not in love with it, but the visuals are not as repulsive as the earlier eps.

Anyone else hyped for upcoming Yuasa's movies? One of them looks a lot like Tatami Galaxy <3

I don't agree with overanimation as the problem Hibike has with the "misleadingness" of KumiRei tho. You can have beautifully animated emotional scene between friends, too, if that's the focus of the story. The directing is more at fault, production-wise (which is the point he kinda brought up in the other vid). Emphases placed on things like the nose sliding and lewd handholding is way more suggestive than just beautiful-looking city lights and fireworks.

But, more than anything, KyoAni was not unintentional about the yuribait. Japan knows what the hell the red string of fate means. For them to put that on Kumiko's & Reina's pinkies & then turn around to tell the audience "LOL adolescence" is not unintentional yuribait. Not to mention all the tease from the official promotional arts, drama CD, & radio talks. They definitely succeed in depicting Japanese adolescence tho, since adolescence in Japanese standard also includes the yuri phase.

^ It's just a prediction. Since Touko doesn't want Yuu to love her, some of us predict that Touko will cause Yuu a heartbreak of some form at some point if Yuu starts to let her feelings slip out too much (doesn't have to be rejection though).

^ Demi-chan is definitely not rotten like other school harem stuffs, I'm enjoying it for the most part since it mostly focuses on the girls' interactions and not about them fighting over the teacher's affection. But, I still think it would've been nicer if only like 1 of them fall for him and not the entire cast. But yes, Hikari is the only safe one right now and the only hope for possible yuri subtext (if there'll be any).

Demi-chan would've be a nicer show if every girl weren't falling for the teacher! He's a nice guy, but still... was hoping that Yukki would not fall for him, so Hikari x Yukki could live in my fantasy, but nope :T

Talking about glaring TL mistakes, I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but this page rlly bothers me. Apparently, Yuu is not saying that Touko is the most important person to her, but that she believes Touko needs her the most and so she decides to stay by her side. This makes sense in context of the entire story so far while "I believe that you're the most important person to me" just comes out of nowhere.

Just read this again. Truly one of the greatest things ever made by mankind.

Kobayashi-san keeps getting better every ep. KyoAni is doing an amazing job adapting this. It doesn't follow the manga too tightly to get dull and it doesn't deviate from the manga too much that it falls apart.

Kinda random but hopefully, at the end, the author decide to stick with the current Touko image and not chop her hair off. (I'm a sucker for long black hair character, like Iono). Since it seem Yuu is starting to change, if Touko really did end up with Yuu, I fear the idea of being her true self will result in some hair chopping T.T

I'm conflicted about this. I also have long black hair fetish so I do want Touko to keep her hair long. But, Touko chopping her hair to look like herself before the incidence & not like her sister is nice, too. Fetish satisfaction vs thematic satisfaction... I can't decide...

Also, I might be wrong, but AnR isn't written by Sunao, right? Why give her credit for the story? Her art is nice, though. It's along the clean, crisp, minimalistic shounen aesthetic that I love.

Actually, is the AnR manga any better than the anime? Didn't like all the stupid asspulls from the anime, so I've never considered picking up the manga.

There are two possible outcomes for this manga:

1. Touko embraces who she is and grows out of the ideal image she has been trying to attain. Thereby changing her definition of love so she can open up to others, be more appreciative of the relationships around her, then come to truly love Yuu and reciprocate her feelings. Change is not easy, so I see this end will also involve both Yuu and Sayaka actively giving Touko the advises and support she needs to move on. Her relationships with both will be more genuine and personal, rather than shallow as they are right now.

2. Touko doesn't change and is forever psychologically damaged. Yuu chooses to stay by her side anyway and is forever emotionally repressed. Sayaka does the same and is forever friendzoned.

Or, the wild card ending: Touko gets Japanese truck'ed like her sister. Yuu x Sayaka endgame.

Yes, it can't be any other days. Yuri handholding is too wild, Touko doesn't want to take responsibility for what might happen if they do it too often.

^ Chap 10 reveals that Touko likes Yuu because Yuu won't like her back. She thinks that Yuu will not come to expect anything from her (no judging, no criticizing) which makes it easy for Touko to show her weak side to her.
