Very cute!

She FINALLY fully admitted it to herself! (I THINK that is the first time she didn't dodge the issue even in her own thoughts and thought the words "I love her too".)

Definitely interesting! I wonder how much older she is? Do you think she's in her 20's or 30's? (In either case, in reality it would be a bit off, but for fiction, eh, whatever...)

I'm bored, so I'll try and come up with some theories on the "what's the 30-year old single woman doing in this place and how is she supporting herself" question:
1. She's from some stuffy, rich family and after messing around with another woman/possibly women was essentially banished to the country-side.
2. She herself dated some older woman, and once her quasi-wife died, inherited the house and enough money to support herself.
3. She writes porn (or possible something else) and prefers doing so where rent is cheap.
4. She's sickly and somebody thought living in peace and quietude would help.
5. She's really into historical re-enactment and feels the countryside is closer to her ideal.
6. She's running from a violent husband and hiding out in that village.
7. She's a former idol/model/actress and moved to a place where nobody knows her.

*8. She's some politician's former mistress and was set up in this out of the way place to keep her out of the public eye.

you know, this could easily be resolved.

Like 99% of all manga drama. If they just talked about it :p

Not just in manga unfortunately this also happen in reality..

Exactly! People always complain about how "If they would just talk to each other there would be no drama" in manga and other forms of media, but the stories are like that for a reason! If PEOPLE communicated with each other effectively, there would be fewer bad relationships, a lower divorce rate (because fewer people would get married to the wrong person more often than talking to their spouse would save their relationship, though there's a significant number of those as well), and all kinds of personal drama that wouldn't occur. People generally SUCK at communicating with each other and, surprise, surprise, art imitates life!

As for this one, I don't know that they really need to talk about anything. I think they both get off on seeing each other being hit on by guys, but knowing the guys aren't going to get anywhere with their girl. It's a rush... a turn on... as the title says, a "twisted" fetish of sorts. They're probably quite happy. They guys are totally clueless, mind you...

I cannot tell if this author wants a dark story or a happy story.

I'd say dark...

i cant place it but this feel wrong... almost creepy to me.

I agree. There's something a little off about the characters in a slightly threatening way. Not just the president, but Sayuri too. It feels like the MC is being inducted into a cult or something.

Besides that, I'm getting a sense that if our hapless protagonist takes a single misstep one or more of these girls will be running a knife against her throat. Seriously, every character besides the MC just intimidates me in the worst way possible.

Yeah... When she meets Sayuri in the garden again, it almost seems like she's been brainwashed a little.

Well, in the description of the series, it does state "she soon learns that paradise is not without its thorns" so... I'd say it's bound to be dark and creepy...

How do they keep the species going? Send out to Saki for science babies?

Science babies, obviously... The concept isn't actually that far fetched with modern technology. It would essentially be a form of cloning combined with mixing the genetic material from the two women's eggs instead of cloning a single person. There is already at least one doctor who offers a service to combine the genetic material of two eggs, though not in the same way. He is doing it for older women to increase the chances of successful in vitro fertilization.
"His procedure, known as spindle nuclear transfer, involves removing the nucleus, which contains the majority of maternal DNA, from one woman’s eggs and injecting it into the egg of a younger donor." (Link: http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/dr-john-zhang) The concept is to combine the genetic material of the older woman and the mitochondrial DNA of the younger woman, since evidence suggests that the "energy output" of the mitochondria decreases with age and might be responsible for the increased difficulty in successful pregnancies. The first use of the procedure done after the mother had lost two children due to "a lethal, progressive neurological disorder caused by a mutation in her mitochondrial DNA". The woman was a carrier of the disease. Though the egg collection and genetic transfer were done in American facilities, the actual implantation of the embryo had to be done outside of the country to circumvent US laws that effectively ban the procedure. Technically, the child has three parents.

It's only a couple of steps further from that to mixing the DNA in the nucleus instead of taking one nucleus and putting it in as is, then using cloning technology to create the embryo instead of standard fertilization with sperm... Of course, this is illegal according to US laws and, from what I understand, most other countries as well, regardless of whether it would be an advancement in science. It would also open the door to the potential for "designer babies" and such, which people seem to fear. That has been mentioned as a problem with this procedure already.

Wow... just WOW! Now I am really wanting to see if Yuu steps up and confesses or if Touko has to make some sort of grand gesture to bust through and force Yuu to admit her feelings...

These two chapters are great! Heck, the whole series is! Can't wait for more!

Give up, Ayaka, you'll never win. XD

Yep!

I thought the whole Valentine's Day mini-chapter was too cute! I like the little "catch up on the couples" things. The huge table o' snacks for the poly triad was nice.

Hase's last line in the omake is, ironically, a summary of the whole history of inventions: people who worked their butt off so that they could be lazy. So… is Hase secretly a genius?

…Damn, I'd really like an actual arc about Hase and Aizawa, but we already just got a student council arc so it probably won't happen. =(

I agree that it's probably too late to get a full arc about Hase and Aizawa, but it would be fun. Hase especially seems like a fun character, though the lazy student council president with the efficient person who loves them, even though they have a severe demeanor and don't come across as the "loving" type, is probably an overused trope...

For a fun show that happens to include the concept of the purpose of inventions being to allow people to be lazy, check out Firebringer (https://youtu.be/ZmVuNlu0LCk). It is a musical by Team Starkid, a theater troupe in based in Chicago (though it was founded at the University of Michigan) that produces musical comedies and puts them on the internet. Firebringer is set in the stone age, about the discovery of fire. It also includes fun stuff like lesbian relationships, polyamory, one character that seems to be nonbinary, and fun discussions about how tasty babies are... It's pretty funny!

I'd say there are a couple of potential interpretations. 1: She has some issue with her ears, as was mentioned by AkiraH or 2. Liz was trying to show her her "real self", without all the glamour, and Honjo pushed her away and gave her a present that indicated that all she sees is the rock star, not anything else. (Or maybe she was mistreated by a guitarist?)

I think its cool that we get to see the play and they don't just gloss over it. ^^ Wish more authors would take chances like that.

I totally agree! It is wonderful!

Predictions for future plot progression:

  1. Ayaka outscores Yurine on the tests because Yurine's hormones are in overdrive and she can't concentrate.
  2. Yurine convinces her parents that the she would like to try living in the dorms for the rest of her high school years so she doesn't have to commute and can have the quiet study atmosphere.
  3. She gets assigned as Ayaka's roommate, since Mizuki has moved out.
  4. They end up ranked number 2 and 3 in the school rankings because they spend most of their evenings in bed together instead of studying and some other girl surpasses them both.
  5. Ayaka is still upset because Yurine is 2nd.

Of course, this will take another 40 chapters to accomplish, because there will be five to ten new couples with their own relationship issues to resolve that will be interspersed between the chapters about the main couple...

"You think I'll start wanting a boy's **** in me?"

...Chitose's been talking with Mari-sempai again hasn't she. Also ten on the buchou having figured them out.

Chitose was always ridiculously blunt. Remember the scene where she starts asking about fingering girls while jogging with Edogawa-sensei?

LOL! Yeah! That was classic!

Now, we need a sequel of Girlfriends too. "The College Years". Then "Adult life".

That's something I'd LOVE to see!

This was a good chapter, but I'd like to see Yae drop out of fencing so she isn't burning the candle at both ends. Not to mention that it would probably be an indication that she feels more secure in their relationship.

The close-ups could just be there to show you how much time has passed.
she also says "why does your face seem so nostalgic to me?" could be amnesia

If amnesia were supposed to remain plausible then it would also show you that she had aged accordingly. And her not being "Mihoko" would be a really bad writing idea in terms of getting the point across.

That's what bugs me about the amnesia theory. She wouldn't change her name if she just lost her memory.

Unless she is in a Dissociative Fugue due to the amnesia and actually has taken on a new persona and the dreams are her old persona bleeding through? (This does happen.)

But I think that the differences between the technology in the dream and the end part where she wakes up make it clear that it is not the same woman.

Someone else mentioned the socks... Yeah... I'm pretty sure she put her girlfriend's socks on...

I knew a pair of fraternal twins in high school who had a younger sister who looked close enough to the shorter of the two that many people meeting their family for the first time assumed that they were identical twins and the other twin was their older sister. I think it bothered her a bit, since she had one of those really cute, "younger than she looks" faces and, by the end of high school, was a bit tired of people thinking she was several years younger than she was... (I always wondered if she appreciated it when she got into her late 20s and people were carding her for drinks or if it was still bugging her. I know my sister got fed up with the whole looking younger than she is when she was carded for an R-rated movie when she was 35 years-old... She's not quite five feet tall... LOL!)

I need 150 more pages...
until it gets ruined by some weird drama which will make me regret asking for more

Well, that's what happens... either that or...
it gets cancelled because the creator is tracing magazine pictures or something...

It's cute and I like it, but wow does it skim over parts of the story.

Like on page 412, where she says "Aren't I always saying it?" I'm like "No, this is the first time the story has shown you saying it, and until now I thought only a day or two had gone by". That's some pretty extreme "tell, don't show" going on there.

But then there's a montage of her telling her how she feels about her in various ways on the next page. And right before the classmate had already given the indication that she and the plot device walk to the cafe together often enough that the kids at school think they are an item, so it's pretty clear that it's been a while and not just a couple of days.

What exactly makes people think that this is the end? It's brutal, but it was fairly obvious that it was coming. The fact that Mei chose to do it via letter is a bit harsh. (Kind of like breaking up via text message.) But it was clear that she was going to move forward with the arranged marriage and that she was being torn apart by all of the feelings she has for Yuzu.

Am I the only one who wonder why Seri pretended that she didn't hear Hinas first confession? Oo

Maybe because she wanted to keep hearing Hina say it to her? I had the impression that it wasn't Hina's first time saying it - more like a scene everyday.

Anyway, this was predictable but I LOVED IT.
I have a soft spot for stories where protagonists think it's (love) one sided but it's not. <3

Yeah I think she was waiting for a true confession to make sure it wasn't just meant as a friend.

That is kind of the way I looked at it. She was waiting for her to be ready to actually say it when she thought she could hear instead of saying it when she thought it was safe, until she started crying. Up to that point everything was fine, because she pretty much knew they'd be together eventually and she wanted to wait for Hina to be really ready.

Maybe it'll be polyamory het? That's not all that common

Would actually be het + bisexual + lesbian. As a bisexual and poly person I would actually like this development, but I don't think it will happen because Ichika says pretty clearly that she feels something for Ritsu that she actually dosen't feel for Shun. As for the other two, Shun basically just want to try get through all of this without losing his friendship with Ritsu and being honest with Ichika, and Ritsu is completely lost and doing shit without thinking, but I think that she in the end of the day just want to have a relationship with Ichika but still care for her friendship with Shun, that's why she was so mad that he wasn't angry at her, because she felt that she deserve that.

I'm really sorry for the huge response.

I agree. In the first chapter she talks about how she feels strange about kissing him because she always thought the relationship between the three of them wouldn't change. It is kind of implied that she isn't really into it the way she says it. Then there's the whole ear cleaning thing and the fact that she doesn't trust Shun to do it.

Then, of course, it's made quite explicit in the 2nd chapter that she was turned on when Ritsu kissed her in a way that she hasn't been by Shun. You really get the feeling that she agreed to date Shun because she didn't want to hurt his feelings by turning him down, not because she felt the same type of feelings for him.

And, yeah, there's a dearth of good stories about poly relationships, especially bisexual ones. If you haven't read it, I highly suggest the "Adaptation" series by Malinda Lo. (Hopefully that's not too much of a spoiler... LOL!)

Well, I suspect that's a kiss happening in panel 4 of page 17. I don't see why you would cut her face out of the frame like that if you weren't implying that something lip related is going on off-panel, and Touko looks pretty stunned in the last panel.

Good point. That probably is a kiss... I suppose we'll see that scene from Touko's perspective in the next chapter and find out, eh?
