also, I wouldn't be surprised if after this series wraps up, Shou-san released one or two after stories/epilogues where the Yuri is more concrete. this would be an affirmative nod to his Yuri fans, would allow it to be published in Big Comic Spirits without causing any problems, and would win him the adoration of both his Yuri and non-yuri fans (not to mention put a cap on repairing his reputations after the Prism debacle). at least, that's what I'd do if I were him.

ya know, I want to believe that, but I think Saori summed it up nicely when she explains why Yurika never quite fits in with girls. Also, it is too funny how Yurika's power to gigolo just naturally takes over. I just wish I had 1/10 of her abilities.

amazing story, but I've always wondered, why is there not a scene/panel showing that they are definitely a couple? it's implied, but never said explicitly. oh well, who am I to question the wisdom of the artist.

Ugh, I hate these types of questions because there "usually" is never just one. for example, I absolutely love "To Meet," by Nishi Uko, but I am equally invested in "Caterpillar and Butterfly," by Ken Kurogame, and I adore "The One I Love," by Minami Katase as much as "To Meet."

I wouldn't be surprised if a big part of those views are of people only interested on the internet drama that every new chapter stirs on the comments. If you take notice, most of the "discussion" is a cycle of people complaining about the series and people like me defending it (and usually the same posters)

I never distilled or attempted to distill the numbers to account for complaints vs defenses of person A's position, general purpose comments of approval, mini-flames/rants/what-nots, or unnecessary tangential posts like mine. I was just interested at the sheer volume of both views and comments.

Once people read the newest chapter released, there's usually a pretty big blowup in the discussion. Then a week passes by and people go back under their rock until the next month and a half until the raws are released.
Thus, the cycle continues.

back to my point, other than "Stretch" which as you described sees more activity right after a release and in truth may be more active than "Citrus," no other series comes even close to "Citrus" and looking at the timestamps of the posts over the weekend, there was an awful lot of activity in the thread. welp, that could be because people are getting antsy in anticipation of a new chapter. I guess the point I was trying to make was that I was amazed at the interest in particular manga. as I look at the numbers more, Citrus' views/comments ratio is on par with the others. ~1% of views translate into comments (maybe even kinda on the low side).

on that I must apologize for this mini-rant (OK, more like blather). like I said above, I had waaay too much fun number crunching.

I really am becoming a fan of Miman. However... now this follow-up requires a follow-up! I don't mind open-ended stories. in fact, it gives me hope that the story could be continued at a different time. in this instance, I wish the story was more resolved or left at a point that the reader knew an additional story/stories were coming.

But it was just...odd. Unlike what people think, things HAVE changed for the better...but it was put across in such...well an odd way. Clearly Nao and Chitose like each other and I like the idea of not changing, but it just came across so oddly in the last 3 or 4 pages.

I think I know what the writer was getting at and I like it but it's a very curious way to go about doing it.

agreed. at this point, I think their feelings for one another are starting to get mixed in with how they see one another which is not necessarily the same thing. At least this is my opinion as to why Chitose is acting so jealously towards Nao.

On a different note, Yumi is the bomb! you gotta love it when you have a friend that can be both diplomatic and blunt at the same time. Her character reminds me of Harumin-san from Citrus.

OMG I thought I was the only person who had that problem!! I realized it a few years ago that watching a girl and a guy kiss is just kinda gross... Two girls or two guys kissing doesn't bother me though.

I managed to survive through it by comparing the characters to the ones in Gundam 00 since it has the same character designer, and also by listening to Bury Your Dead at a low volume while watching Although listening to metal while watching animes is a habit i have even with yuris when the soundtrack is forgettable, for some reason Strawberry Panic fits quite well with BlazBlue's OST

( sigh ) in many cases, there is no such thing as 1 favorite mangaka. Like Nezchan said, there are clusters of favorites. in my case, I have several favorite for each genre and sub-genre.

hehehe, random chapter of the day really turned up a gem. now I'm totally ready for a new Virgin's Empire chapter. hoping for a release before Christmas.

in my non-yuri category i'd add Q Kyu and the good folks over at Behind Moon.
