For a moment, I was like "Is editor-chan whispering to Himawari that Matsuri is some kind of special?!", but the story is so sweet that I can forgive the lack of yuri. It's nice for Himawari to realise how much she has changed the Himawari bookstore for the better. I hope she realises that Matsuri had some work in this.

I'm not sure if it's okay for her to try and become somebody else, no matter how much hollow she felt before. Though, this is probably a good thing that Himiwari is becoming her own version of a librarian and that she realises it.

Naw, this will end exactly like Amber Teahouse except with books instead of tea and sweets.

I think this is in this thread I heard about Amber Teahouse, but I'm not sure Himawari is reciprocating Matsuri's feelings while, if I remember correctly, the shopkeeper in the Amber teahouse is not indifferent to the younger protagonist behaviour. I also hope for the same kind of ending, of course.

Yes, that is the literal word used in the original. The "con" part of these things don't directly have sexual connotations like lolicon and shotacon, and are generally used with the respective familial terminology to represent excessive clinginess (eg. someone's who a fathercon is very doting on their father, but doesn't neccessarily wanna do anything uncouth)

The recent chapter doesn't do anything to make Chitose less of an adulterous slut and just makes me feel more bad for her husband. Basically, marrying the person she loved and having a child wasn't enough to make her happy I guess. Sucks to be her daughter, not only having your mom do her best to ruin the family, but also having a best friend that knows your feelings, but intentionally flirts around in front of you, and makes out with your mom in places where its easy for you to notice.

And I'm sorry, but I just can't get on board with her being alright with all of this because there's "love" involved. Seems like she's just resigned herself to what is happening and is waiting for everything to come crashing down, which it will.

Why speak of the sequel in the prequel's thread? It's not that horrible since it's a little series, but come on...

I think it's nice to make the receiving party not completely clueless. I'm not sure the use of the term mothercon is the best, even though it summarises the situation really well. If one of the translator come here, is the term used in the raw really close to the word mothercon?

However, as much as making the mother aware is cool, I'm not sure making her falling for her daughter is all that great. Perhaps I'm reading it wrong. That said, if it can bring toward a nice fluffy story, why not.

I had never read Watamote but I always thiked it was a funny serie o.o

It is, but most of the funny stuff, at least in the first half/part of the series, is based on the main character making a fool of herself in social situations. So yeah, this is mostly "cringe" humour as young people say. If you can't deal with embarrassment even in stories, it may be hard for you to enjoy it.

That said, the second/latest part of the story has a lot of feel good and sweet moments and is becoming more and more a slice of life story rather than a sequence of embarrassing gags.

I can't second A5PECT enough, you should give it a try.

Now, I guess if they say it's unhealthy it's because they don't approve the pairing, seeing it at ultimately bad for one or both parties. I don't agree, even if it's perfect, if they can make it work it's all right in my book.

Late to the party, but how is that different of lesbian girl choosing another woman? Years later, yes and a pretty good one. The yuri isn't the main focus but the relationship between the two is nicely portrayed for "mainstream" anime. It's a bit old since it's from 2006, but if you have the opportunity to watch it, don't hesitate!

I think it's one of my first (unconscious) pairing. Well, it is pretty obvious in the show itself what is going on between the two, but I really liked it... I guess I was already a sucker for yuri content in my teens.
