Hadn't heard about this VN series before, and after a really quick search, it looks pretty damn good and pretty damn gay. How accurate is that assessment?

This was a strange mix of realism and total hentai. The art style, excessive liquid and such scream hentai, but the mention of pride and discovering sexuality and such, using blunt terms such as ‘lesbian’ rather than ‘we’re both girls’, brings an undertone of realism and I’m left kind of confused by it.

You summed up my exact sentiment. I had this weird feeling the whole time reading it that there was a clash of styles going on.

I love how this artist draws Karen, with her always having a straight face.

She showed up in the original series. I believe the chapter that focused on her in that series was also called Rival and Kase-san, which is why it says "again" in the title of this chapter on the first page.

I love this translation and how it incorporates western slang. I lost it at "Eau du Thot".

The second I saw Marnie, I knew the artists would be on it right away...not complaining though.

I thought it would be depressing from the title, like a girl in love with her straight friend. I was delighted to be mistaken.

It was an interesting twist, I think. When she asked her at the end if she read the new chapter, I had to stop for a second and go back before I figured it out. Not the happiest of endings, though.

Finally...I've been seeing this on Kodama's Twitter for months now, wondering when it'd be translated.

It looks like that "baka" has taken on a different meaning this chapter...

Holy fuck, a 7-octave range!? That's actually ludicrous, lol. A 3-octave range is considered impressive in the vocal world. If reaching 7-octaves is even possible, it has to be REALLY rare.
