(Sees Flower Flower in the forum posts) (Gasp) Did something come ou-oh no, just somebody else found the series and commented on how we will never receive closure. The world is cruel and merciless.

While all this speculation on the future is interesting, I'd actually like to discuss the current chapter. What I wonder is how Seto got roped into letting the two Nanas do this sham interview and then strip her on top of it. She knew what they were trying to do, and yet she just went along with it anyway.

I think you answered your own question, there.

This is super funny but at the same time she is getting so many stalkers, I'm confused. Ah well it's ok since she agrees to it I guess.

Being into somebody and actively trying to spend time with them isn't "Stalking".

(Edit: I mean the clothes smelling thing is a little stalkery, I'll grant that.)

See, when it started to look like Nanasawa wasn't going to go back to the present, I felt bad for older, original timeline Seto. Like, from her perspective, she got divorced, immediately got in touch with the cute Kouhai she used to crush on, then after one kind-of-date where nothing happened, Nanasawa fucks off to the past and spins off an alternate timeline, leaving her alone.

But now that she's possibly back, I feel bad for YOUNG Seto, because she honestly seemed pretty freaking happy with her two Nanasawas, and then one of them just up and vanished on her!

Does anyone remember what her old job was and if it’s different from what this new future is?

She had a desk job at a whatever office at a random company. From the looks of it, she pretty much returned to her normal timeline.

I don't think we ever even saw what her job was in the original timeline. When we first see her, she's on her way to meet older Seto, and after that meeting she rubs one out in the park and conks her head and is in the past for the rest of the story. She -might- have had a desk job at an office, but I don't know that they ever told us that explicitly.

I like how when they ask her to take care of documents she replies "Sure!" and starts working happily, while in her head she plans to return home as soon as work is over, to watch movies and...

... and then she suddenly goes: "... LIKE HELL!!! WHERE AM I AND WHAT AM I DOING HERE???" lol

I don't think she has actually forgotten her future job, so either the future changed or some odd paradox thingie is going on.

Yeah, I think she's working in a different place now.

Yeah, it's fine. It's cute. I don't know where the hell this negativity welled up from.

You mean you don't understand why a drama stirring up for so long because one of the person is too stubborn and too prideful to talk and dragging up the main pair who absolutely ask nothing is receving negatively ? I too wonder yes.

Well to be fair to Shiho it's probably not easy to find a way to say "I was in love with you and I'm jealous because you fell in love with this Yori chick oh and by the way hi Yori Aki's totally smitten with you hope that doesn't fuck up your friendship but HEY YOU ALL ASKED SO HERE YA GOOOOO"

I feel the same about the story as a whole (basically fun, it's fine, it's cute), but to be sure this arc does feel like a rather abrupt drop-off from the initial arc. After Hima's love epiphany, I expected the story to delve into some serious Yori-Hima dating fluff rather than this apparently interminable battle-of-the-bands stuff, with Hima off temping for the other side (it kind of reminds of when Jim Hawkins apparently runs off from his friends to join the pirates in Treasure Island--but I digress).

So I'm still interested, but my interest level has dropped a good bit from the well-above-average starting chapters.

I mean, I get "This arc isn't as interesting", I don't get "This manga is trash."

I mean, it seems to me like what we're barrelling toward is Aki X Shiho as a side couple, and Himari's earnest wholesomeness is going to be the lever that gets them out of their own ways. The battle of the bands thing is just set dressing.

(If it helps we've totally got some YoriHima dating fluff coming)

I get that Ai's big thing is being overt and sincere, but like... please double-check with the girl in question before outing your underage partner to her family.

This whole situation started because of the same thing happening the other way around, so I figure fair's fair.

Eh, Misumi didn't out anybody, though. Her parents don't know who Ai is, and she wasn't telling anybody who does know Ai that she's gay/bi/whatever, or that she's dating a minor.

(Ai has taken care of that herself. Multiple times.)

She certainly wasn't telling Ai's family. Also Ai is an adult, so her situation isn't nearly as risky if her parents do find out she's into girls. She's already self sufficient.

Outing somebody to their family is a huge no-no in LGBT circles. It's pretty dangerously reckless.

It's going to probably be fine, because Ai means well and this isn't the kind of series where it doesn't work out, but just don't do this at home, kids.

I'm gonna go against the grain and say that I still like this series. This arc is kinda meh and I'd prefer more himari-yori time but it's fine I guess.

I concur. Hima may be reckless, Yori may be passive and Shiho may be unlikable but they're not the worst in any of their respective categories of character flaws.

The current arc does drag on a bit but I'm still having fun with it

Yeah, it's fine. It's cute. I don't know where the hell this negativity welled up from.

  • shiho and himari got insanely close way to fast, almost as fast as yori and himari,
  • yori bottling her feelings instead talking with himari is such a NTR cliche
  • the insane lengths himari goes to paint shiho in a more sympathetic way despite her being so unlikable doesn´t feel like a coincidence
  • at ch 30 himari´s tries to kiss yori but she rejects her advances leaving her really dejected this is quite literally the plot of a lot of NTR hentais this is just a theory but im willing to bet that shiho is going to swoop in and confort hima after that

i hope im just reading too much into this but there´s some flags that seem to point in that direction. Again i hope im wrong but a small part of me wants himari falling in love with shiho i´d be such a spicy development and honestly the only way i can see the manga picking up the pace

I am incredibly skeptical. My Japanese is pretty limited, but from what I can make out from the raws without looking anything up, it looks to me more like she's saying she wants their first kiss to be more special and then while they're feeling awkward and frustrated afterwards it she invites her to go to a festival fireworks show. It's pretty obvious she's thinking "So um, this might be a very appropriate place for us to have our first kiss..." I honestly can't see Himari being upset enough after the way that shook out for Shiho to have any reason to swoop in.

Also, Himari is innocent and forthright to a fault, I cannot imagine a universe in which she cheats on anybody, and going NTR would be absurdly out of theme for a series like this. At most I could see Shiho trying to steal Himari to hurt Yori the way she feels Yori hurt her by taking Aki's affections, but such attacks would just glance harmlessly off Himari's sincerity.

I swear, some people on this site are DEEPLY paranoid when it comes to NTR. You're reading too much hentai manga, it's interfering with your ability to understand plots that aren't based on porn fetishes.

Then it should be "I Don't Know Which One is Thirstiest"

My money is on the idol.

Safe bet. It's always the quiet ones.

Sometimes I wonder with this latest arc if Seto may have gotten more than she bargained for with the two Nanas. Also, her definition of dating must be different than mine if she got to third base with both of them on the same day, at least from what was shown. They seem to be moving awful fast in this relationship.

Well, remember that Elder Nanasawa has been escalating things for awhile. They weren't officially dating, but it was basically an all-but-official thing And it makes sense that younger Nanasawa would move quick to match, because she knows she has ground to make up, she knows it's okay, and she is well established as having more horn than a brass band.

I like the smell girl. She seems stern but affectionate. I also like seeing smell fetishes when it's not about stink and sweat.

I mean, she seems better than her first impression, but let's not forget her immediate response to her new roommate was "Your clothes stink, I'm going to strip you nude in your sleep and literally throw them away." which is....pretty not cool? But it does seem like she's less terrible than that by itself would imply.

They still haven't addressed Seto's failed acting career. She's beautiful, sensual, and diligent at acting. Maybe she refused to let an agent or producer or director use the couch and got blackballed? Maybe also, the older one can work in that Seto failed with men very badly as well, so she's better off without them. But I think her identity is tied up with acting - action movie acting - so they need to fix that. If their film club does a good movie that would help.

She failed in her career because she didn’t have the support she needed to succeed: both Nanasawas could handle her mundane routines of cooking, cleaning, and working part-time to help pay her way towards acting classes and auditions full time.

I'm late on the ball on this point, but I wanted to go ahead and comment: The manga actually explicitly tells us that Seto's career failed because she was unconvincing in romantic scenes. Basically, the implication was that her life experience was lacking and she didn't know how to convey the emotions that come with romance. It is very likely that the manga will play this off as though her experience with Nanasawa fills in those gaps and makes her a better actress better able to succeed.

should've been "I Don't Know Which One is Thirsty"

The answer, evidently, is all of them.

Awfully pessimistic of you guys. Could just as easily be a sextet.

It's a harem comedy, conflict is the fuel in the furnace.

It would be funny if this ended abruptly with them all being angry at her and getting in a big fight after they find out about each other

Honestly this would probably be the most realistic outcome, but more likely each girl has different attitudes about the prospect, because that makes for a more interesting comedy. One won't care, somebody else will be aggressively possessive, somebody else will just kind of shy back but not be willing to let go, somebody else will suggest an orgy, and the fifth will get all tsundere about it. Nobody will give up on her because that would simplify the chaos, and that's bad for the comedy.

I'm not saying this is an ironclad prediction, but that's my expectation, at least.

Tamamusi's past work isn't exactly trying to be deeply metaphorical. I suspect the sense theme is mostly just a fun gimmick to give each of the girls a different reason to be attracted to Mei. I do think she's definitely going to be struggling with deciding what she's looking for from a girlfriend. So far she's just getting dragged around by her base desires.

You say "base desires" like those are bad things. (As you suggest, Tamamusi surely doesn't . . . )

Desires aren't bad, letting yourself be lead around by them without consideration is.

There's nothing wrong with being thirsty, but she has 5 prospective girlfriends on a collision course, if she doesn't apply a little rationality and restraint it's not gonna be pretty.

My thought process was more going back to the title of the work and her question at the end of the most recent chapter: "Which one is love?" It makes me think that the overall plot might be her growth as she comes to understand the difference between attraction, infatuation, and love. (Assuming that it doesn't go full poly: "Between the five of them, they love me for who I am!") Come to think of if, five = one for each of the five senses....

Reading these chapters give me a smile on my face but I could help but think these could have been like 5 different single couple mangas. Harem just inevitably leads to unsatisfying conclusions where no one gets picked or everyone gets picked with superficial relationship developments.

Not gonna say that never happens, I may not have read what you've read, but every harem I can think of off the top of my head (Starting with the one that spawned them all, Love Hina, up to the latest yuri harem I've seen concluded, Tachibana To Lie Angle) has a main pairing that is pretty obviously the "real" pairing throughout, or at most has two close rivals that carry all the tension. The only one I can even think of that was ever dubious about the main ending up with anybody was Negima!, where the protagonist is literally a child and isn't thinking about this stuff yet and also the story isn't about the harem or romance in any way. (Negima was an intentional subversion of the harem concept to begin with)

Main reason being that while it's pretty understandable for a person to be torn between two romantic interests, more than that is liable to come across pretty wishy-washy and scummy.

This one seems a little different, in that is isn't playing favorites yet, but as a result it kind of has this feeling like all we've met so far is the peanut gallery, and the real, final girlfriend is still out there somewhere, waiting to decend. Her high school crush seems like an obvious choice, but maybe that's too obvious.

Like the very first page of chapter 2- Burn My Image Into Your Eyes~

(edit: god she does talk about touching a lot tho... maybe I'm wrong...)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the theme for each one is about what they like about the MC. Riri-chan loves the feel of her, Kyouko-sama loves the smell of her, Minato-san loves the sound of her voice, the kiss demon loves the taste, etc....

SAME THOUGHTS and i find it so interesting too like thats some unique theme u got there... curious abt how they are going to approach the onee-sama one? like is she just going to look at the mc??

She'll fall for the way she looks. Her face, her expressions, maybe her fashion....Something visual.

So they all love her in parts: the way she feels to the touch, the way she smells, the way she sounds.... All very superficial.

All attraction at the first meeting is superficial. You can't have deep feelings for somebody you just met. The initial attraction is just what draws you to the person, then you go through the work of finding out if you're compatible.

5 seconds later: it is NOT happening ¬¬

Anyways, i love, I LOVE that what she felt for haruka was just sensual attraction, however as she developed romantic feelings and noticed them ¬¬, the attraction became sexual u.u
Sooooo, demisexual/romantic ???

Ehhh, they're teens. It isn't uncommon for teens who are gay or straight or anything else to still be in the process of discovering their sexual preference and sexuality.

Also keep in mind her learned boob-fondness started in a weird zone of chastity because her cousin was literally just making up bullshit to keep from admitting out-loud that she's just gay.

(laugh) Oh, brother, Ai, way to make this sound as bad as it possibly could sound, given the relatively innocent nature of your actual relationship.
