^I get that, but it feels really boring (and kind of like a cop-out) that so many works only focus on that one aspect of her character.

Seconded! Everyone dies. You can write the story of she who survives with any character, they don't need to be immortal.

One would assume that, as usual, mages simply summon/create their respective elements. Less noticeable with air users or earth users who create walls like that, possible even to explain away with water and fire to an extent, but certainly noticeable at the very least with earth type projectiles. Well, never a good idea to think too much about most magic systems in any case.

Indeed, as long as specific chemical elements aren't a plot point, I have no trouble switching my brain off and enjoying the fireworks. But in this instance, Rei specifically lampshades that she is using advanced technical knowledge from modern Japan (why does an ex-office lady know so much about metallurgy, by the way?), so the author has deliberately brought real-world chemistry into their magic system and willingly invited a critical examination thereof.

At some point in the novel Rei goes into the details a bit more (she's up to quite a bit behind the scenes and I think it took her a long time to develop this technique). The short of it is that this magic system can and does become whatever the plot needs it to be. Your concern of if X exists then why in the hell don't they do Y is valid and will be recurring

Relaire has had a lot of funny little background gags in the manga that never would have been possible in the LN

I think this is what they call "fan service"

Someone needs to get this manga to (famed amateur bird watcher) Jonathan Franzen posthaste

I wonder he is son of the couple living above them.

If that's the case, then he might have heard Wanko's....um.....''barking'' and might be curious (^^)

It'd be amazing if he has to go back to the same building but is avoiding them as much as possible because of how awkward it would be

It's a MALE GAZE! A STALKER MALE GAZE!

Not to be confused with the male gaze

Judging by his facial expressions, I bet this kid is about to do something hilariously awkward

And with this, the Shinobi Arc will hopefully finally end after 46 chapters. :-)

Welcome to the new, 100-chapter Deadly Sins arc

Chapter 11 did very little other than to set-up a cliff-hanger. There was not enough story for more than thirty pages.

Well, it's just following the novel exactly, this is just what happened in it.

This adaptation is doing surprisingly well to make things more interesting, even. Relaire might actually stick around and the announcers feel a lot more consistent with later arcs in the story. It's already starting to feel more cohesive

I think this story warrants the tragedy tag. Given that the "twist" is the form the tragedy takes and not a sudden and unexpected "event", I don't think tagging it would spoil the effects of the tragedy.
Thoughts anyone?

It's tricky given the tragedy is a twist that comes into play a couple chapters in, which is usually a sign that mods/admins won't tag it as tragedy (they generally don't if it gives away spoilers about the series), but since it is only 5 chapters into a series with 22 chapters, that might be early enough that they make an exception, especially since a huge amount of the story revolves around it.

Edit: Also, even on the early chapters there's a lot of ominous warnings. "As a result [of becoming a bride], I lost everything. In exchange, I gained one thing, only to lose everything again."

My personal hesitancy to tag it as a tragedy is based on spoiling the event. As such, I'll spoiler tag my reasoning.

Whether or not the tragedy is expected doesn't matter, it's that the story sets up two possibilities early on: the brides will die or a cure will be found and the brides will live. Marking it as a tragedy makes the ending clear to any reader that the brides will (essentially) die. Much of the tension of the story relies on the reader believing either outcome is possible, but a tag will make it clear which route the story takes.

That being said, no doubt it's a tragedy and probably even warrants the depressing af tag on a number of chapters

for those wondering Whats happening here with this manga it didnt get dropped like nothing happened to the artist they completed the entire manga up to 21 or 24 chapters in total? if you want to read it google search this manga for the RAW version which is basically the original japanese version without translation. The reason why this manga has had zero updates or stopped is due to the scanlation/translation group managing the updates. It most likely got dropped due to complication on their side and it doesnt help the fact most manga updates were posted via MangaDex which suffered a major DDOS attack a few months back which they are currently trying to restore the site/fix hopefully.. again if you want to spoil yourself just search for the raws online the images tend to translate what really happened.

The whole synopsis is in the comments here on page 24. I wouldn't say it was dropped due to complications, we just slowed down and never finished it. It's also a tremendously unhappy story.

And that also happens to be Labour Day
unless you're American or Canadian, which... WTF USA and Canada?

nervous "I totally live in the USA" laughter

The USA/Haymarket Affair is one of the main reasons reasons May Day exists, always thought it was weird we don't at least celebrate it in passing.

But how did it turn out this plant boy was secretly the love guru? We were totally played, but I'm hoping that means the roommate story will resolve in a totally new way from the normal jealousy routine

Alternatively, fantasy is a genre meant to reflect back on reality and adopting children is more relatable over leaning into another trope. Not to mention Rei isn't bi.

Gender swapping magic and diseases are baked into the world though, so there was an intentional choice to go for adoption over some sort of insemination. Not to mention they're 16 going on 17 when this happens

So, in the past few days, I totally fell in love with the LN after finishing volume 2. And now I intend to also buy the third installment. I am also subscribed to Inori-sama both in her Fanbox and Ko-fi. I wanted to help her earn more money, the best I can. So please do so if you can. She started writing the first act in Claire's pov and it's so wonderful.

You have heart! You should come join Jingle's discord server and discuss the Claire PoV story

There is a ton of angst in her other stuff. This is the safe world. Check out the archive and you'll find enough angst to choke a horse.

There are actually quite a few dark undercurrents in this; Namori has just let them flow by.

But when was the last time Namori was unchained? They may have a point that the angst will burst out soon...

On the other hand, Yuri Hime is quite a few chapters ahead of this, so anyone could go peek ahead and see

In the immortal words of Color_LES, creator of Mage and Demon Queen, "Yeah, it's good. I like how they poop child in omegaverse."

omg when did she say it?? do you have the link or smth

Nah, I don't. It was in her ex-girlfriend's comic about their daily life, which is pretty great. It even has a cameo from George Bush. Although I have no clue which episode she said it in.
