They're not all that great, really. I only use them as a means of entertainment. Never really tried the more complex stuff...

As long as I have a basic understanding for the language and a vocabulary that's wide enough...
I don't have a problem doing it in English... but I probably could have done a better job if I had taken more time. And I'm probably also a bit better in German... My English is okay but I'm still a little insecure sometimes...

I wouldn't exactly call it conservative... it's more like... the whole school system here in Germany is just not really flexible... ^^ Unfortunately!
A lot of people know some basic English but not all people here in Germany speak good English. A lot of teachers don't speak proper English as well. That's probably the reason why ;)

And Germany used to be the nation of poets and philosophers... maybe that's another reason...

I also heard that Chinese people were not so welcome in some European countries. It concerned me a bit as I look Chinese. But everything is alright here.

Don't know of any problems regarding that here either... So no worries ^^b

Don't know. It's probably not a rule but I have siblings. Male and female. A lot of cousins. And I also know my mom and dad. Love stories revolving around incest are just not all that enjoyable for me... as long as it's not some really distant relative... I just assume that maybe, for people without any siblings, the thought of romantic love between the aforementioned might sound appealing to some... when in real life it's actually not ^^
I love my family very much. Just not that way...

I'm part Italian. So I totally understand where you're coming from. I tend to get a little too passionate about stuff as well sometimes. But just try to cut some slack on other people who get passionate about things you don't like or don't wanna hear. Of course there are some really unreasonable people with questionable views around. Especially in some comment sections. But that's a part of life as well. And I'm also pretty sure most of these people wouldn't be so bad if you met them in real life. Some just like to type a lot before they really think...

To be fair, of course there are racists here in Germany just like in any other country as well.
But generally speaking I wouldn't say that that assumption is true.
There are so many people with foreign backgrounds around... A lot of people from eastern Europe, Turks, Italians, Spanish folks, Americans, Asians... I know a lot of mixed couples... My grandma was German and my grandfather was Italian. My father (who tends to be a little racist sometimes... O_o) had me with a half Italian woman. My aunt was married to a Turkish man. I used to have a Japanese teacher who was married to a German. All of my foreign teachers were married to Germans to be honest... My brother had his longest relationship with an Italian girl. A lot of Polish/Russian mixed couples here...
So, no, I wouldn't say that that statement is true in general here in Germany.

But you still can see things like that quite often in every culture. Birds of a feather flock together, they say. There is some truth to that. People from Arabic cultures like to do that sometimes, same with many Asians or African Americans in the US. Sometimes people are forced to stick together by circumstances. Sometimes they just choose do to so because it's easier most of the time... It's not a rare phenomenon, I'd say.
