i actually like more the unintended flirt of the first chapters than the over the top one sided love of sakurako
sometimes sakurako comes up as anoying and creepy and kasumi looks really uncomfortable about that
i really like the last part of the last chapter since gets that feeling of unintended flirt from the first chapters

"Unintended"? Ha!

I thought Kasumi's "unintendedly" asking for Sakurako's hand in marriage was a clear indication that Sakurako's over the top one-sided love is really creepy and annoying and makes Kasumi uncomfortable. That and when she suggested that they should just both go to the same university... that really suggests that she's totally fed up with the girl.

So... 4th sister... By far the most experienced... Only one who isn't a virgin... The only one of the four who's a top... and a total M.

It's not like their affections weren't always mutual... now it's time for massive misunderstandings.

I really enjoyed the one-shot, but this is SOOOOO much better! Getting to see things from Saeko's perspective as well as Miwa's makes the story much more interesting and FAR more complex. For one thing, it's fairly clear that Miwa's perspective on their early relationship was not entirely accurate and that Saeko was never really honest about her real feelings. She was attracted to Miwa from the start and was pretty much head over heals for her, or at least deeply in lust. It makes her drunken proposition that they start dating make much more sense. She'd been pining for her since the first time she saw her and then she found out she's actually into girls? Why not go for it? But she couldn't open herself up and let her know how much she really liked her. That would be like taking the dagger and placing it over her heart, then telling her to plunge it in if she felt like it. So she played it cool.

It helps explain the character so much!

There are a few more pages on the pixiv site... Frankly, I'm surprised Iori let her leave with a family member that outright punched her as her initial greeting. That is just wrong!

The bonus about the school mysteries had a really great ending. I've seen similar twists, but this one worked well, because you kind of expect Natsuki to do things like give the girls the key to the school after hours and play the piano to freak them out.

I have yet to see the first episode, but I read that they covered just one chapter in the first episode? Does that mean that the anime will only cover about 15 chapters? (Since it will be 13 episodes long) That would be a real bummer..

It goes a few pages into chapter 2, actually... up to the point where Nanami-sempai asks Yuu to be her campaign manager. One of the few differences between the anime and the manga is that some of the thoughts about what happened with Nanami that Yuu has in the bath at home in the manga are at the student council room in the anime instead. (Skipping a chance at fan service is a positive sign...)

So... in the middle panel of page 4 in chapter 7, I presume the untranslated whisper is something along the lines of "I love you"?

Manga ending before anime is highly unlikely in most cases. And it won't be the case here. Volume 6 was out on September 26th yeah , and it shows chapter 34 was the last of that volume. And yeh like I said, volume 7 planned for Spring 2019. It says so at the end of volume 6.

I knew someone would know what chapter actually was the end of volume 6! That is the logical one to end the volume with... it's a killer!

Having Volume 7 come out in Spring basically puts the last chapter of that volume in the magazine happening in the March or April issue, so February or March... Whether it's the actual end of the manga or not is still unknown, but it really feels like the story is coming to a close... If not, she's either milking it for all it's worth or it will change to a story about them moving forward as a couple dealing with Touko's insecurities, Yuu's family, Sayaka's jealousy, etc...

But anything we say here is pure speculation...

Oh my goodness me. This is one of the most wonderful things I have ever read. And now I have to wait for god-knows-how-long for maybw the final chapter...? My heart can't handle it. This manga has made me feel so happy.

Um, I think the manga is coming to its end. The next chapter is in October, I feel probably like last 3 chapters to end? Now just resolution on their relationship.
Doubt the author will go on showing their lovey dovey life afterwards unfortunately. :(

Note to self: Stock up on pitch forks and torches to hand to the angry mob when asakura89's jinx comes true.

Haha, I love this manga, it'll be sad to see it end and not have another one to follow. But all good things come to an end and I'm glad this one will be complete! It's a masterpiece and Nakatani is awesome for her art and symbolism.

And I do apologize for the confusion and worry to some of you; I did indeed confused the manga chapter date with the anime release date.

I do still think though that the manga will end this year with 7 volumes (Seven Seas has license for 7 volumes). If there's one chapter release per month Oct., Nov., Dec. then there's 3 more chapters left until end. Each volume of Bloom Into You have about 5 chapters per volume on average, I think Volume 6 will contain up to chapter 33 which leave 5 chapters for Volume 7. Anime starts Oct. 5 (Fri), assuming 13 episodes the last episode will be aired Dec. 28 (Fri). By past trends manga releases on the 26th of the month so literally we'll have the manga end before the anime end (which is nice considering how a lot of manga adapted anime either left open end or alt. ending kinda). Although wishful, if Nakatani would do a volume 8 with just lovey dovey that would be nice too :)

I would think chapter 34 would be the last chapter in volume 6. It is a natural cliffhanger ending for the volume. Chapter 33 is just... to short and too inconsequential to end a volume on. It's great that her sister is telling her she's on her side, but it's not end of volume material. The confession scene with Yuu running away and Touko being unable to run after her? THAT'S a good cliffhanger!

That COULD mean that volume 7 will be short or have a special epilogue chapter or something to fill out the pages, or maybe a short or something. Or it could be ending in the issue that comes out in January, so the anime would have the ending before the manga. That wouldn't be too bad. It's not like she couldn't provide the story to the screen writer ahead of time...

EDIT: Well... we should be able to find out what the last chapter in volume 6 is! It shipped on September 27th in Japan, supposedly!

Thing is, Touko doesn't know what she wants to do.

This part is especially hard on Touko because she’s previously been someone who knows exactly what she wants to do—imitate her dead sister, be in love with Yuu, have Yuu be her campaign manager, put on the play, etc. Her main moment of crisis wasn’t about choosing among several different concrete possibilities, but when she couldn’t see what came next—what would happen after the play was performed.

Touko kept control all those years by keeping herself locked down emotionally and stubbornly sticking to the single principle of being “perfect” on the (supposed) model of her sister. Now she’s broken out her self-imposed constraints, and she’s both more free and more vulnerable than ever.

Yuu, in the meantime, is depressed and hurt. She was afraid of rejection, but she got past her fear by reassuring herself that she wouldn't be rejected, not by accepting the consequences that would come if she was.

Did Yuu really take Touko’s acceptance for granted, though? I thought it was more like she just couldn’t keep going on the way she was. (That “I may be about to do something stupid, but I just don’t have any other choice” feeling was painfully familiar to me.)

I don't mean she took it for granted, I mean she quelled her fears by assuring herself they were unfounded.

https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/bloom_into_you_ch34#15

"It'll be okay. I'll still be by her side..."

She never let herself actually think through "What do I do if she rejects me outright?" I mean, she couldn't. It'd be paralyzing if she did. All she could do was steel herself, hope for the best, and act.

I'm pretty sure Yuu EXPECTED rejection. She broke the rules, after all. That's why she was so quick to run as soon as Touko said "Sorry" without waiting for Touko to finish speaking and say what she was sorry for. She might have had a glimmer of hope that, after the play and everything else that had happened, Touko might not be so absorbed with self-hate that she cannot bear to be loved, but she knew that was the base level of emotional maturity she was working with.

EDIT: I do get the feeling that the manga is heading toward a conclusion that will be timed to happen within a month or two of the end of the anime, similar to "Your Lie in April", so perhaps the entire story will be covered by the anime? Maybe?

EDIT 2: Oh... I see the posts before and after me are basically saying the same thing about the end of the manga... LOL!

After reading the chapter again, i realized that in this page both of them are showing how each of them are dealing with their feelings through the straps. Touko is trying to put the feelings she has for Yuu away, but ultimately can't and even seems to want to act upon them. Yuu is frustrated with her own feelings so she locks them away, maybe expecting them to just dissapear eventually. I'm pretty dumb and i just thought there wasn't any meaning behind it other than the straps reminds them of each other.

Except that Yuu has been keeping the strap in that drawer all along. She hadn't felt right using it or putting it on her bag because then she would obviously have a matching item with Touko and people would ask about it.

and endless money?!

If their next date is as expensive as this one, then I am expecting the money to become a plot point. Or maybe bus drivers in Japan are paid more than I thought?

It’s a special first date, not a lifestyle.

EDIT: And that “treat the aspiring child-care worker like a child” thing has a bit of a Mochi Au Lait tinge to it.

EDIT 2: According to Professor Google, as of 2014 a bus driver in Japan made about 38K USD a year. Not riches by any means, but probably enough for for the occasional splurge by a single person who lives fairly simply.

http://nbakki.hatenablog.com/entry/Annual_Salary_by_Occupation

She also apologizes for how cramped her apartment is when she first brings her home (Page 1 Chapter 3). So she probably doesn't pay a lot for rent.

Am I the only one who thinks the 4th sister is the only one that already had sex?

Nicely predict.

I thought that on the first two pages when she looked surprised at her older sister's question, then looked away with a slightly guilty look when the oldest said the 3rd oldest it was a bit early for her. Kind of like, "Oops... if it's early for her, then I'm a freakin' prodigy!"

So from these four chaps we can safely say:
1st sis- repressed lesbian
2nd- baby/pure hearted(?) lesbian
3rd- oblivious lesbian
4th- aggressive lesbian

And the 4th is the only top...

It's cute, but.... I just think the protagonist of a harem manga should earn their harem, over a few chapters. Not have it thrust upon them, in the first chapter, for no apparent reason. This way seems forced, and uninteresting.

Well to be fair, it's not uncommon for a male harem lead to just have his harem (sometimes literally) just randomly dropped on him

And those series feel just as forced, and even more uninteresting. The only reason I'm not going to give this series a hard pass, is because it's a yuri.

Let's not pretend we read harems for plot.

Wait... isn't "plot" a euphemism for something else in this context?

Was Bell a demon too?

If no, then what is she?

Too much unresolved story.

From all the hints scattered throughout the chapter, I get the feeling that she is basically an angel from the Judeo-Christian tradition, because:

  • The biggest smoking gun is the crucifix she wields as a weapon;
  • Her name is "Bell", which sounds very Western and also invokes church bells;
  • She says the demon is not allowed to speak her true name, and AFAIK Japanese supernatural nasties don't really take an issue with names. In Judaism and Christianity, on the other hand, naming is a big thing, especially for angels, whose names often include "-el", which means "God" (e.g. the archangel's name "Gabriel " means "God is my strength"), and who therefore would be very opposed to a sacrilege such as a demon speaking the name of God.

No idea what she is doing in Japan, though.

Killing demons, of course!

I like this chapter, she makes it clear she likes her for the girl she is not as a "prince".

Exactly! Chidori doesn't see her the same way the other girls do.

So... four years of long distance relationship? Well... at least one of them is so unlikeable she isn't likely to end up having someone else try to steal her away...

This just looks like another one of those mangas that go on forever with the girl never making any real progress sigh...

I'm impressed that you can tell how the entire run of the series will go after one chapter... that's a skill you have there! Conclusion jumping at the expert level! ;)
