I like this manga but...why do they never kiss?

I thought Sumin popping up a couple of times was not an issue at all. Especially regarding the fact how author dragged their story during wdtfs. I'd say it was more realistic to give her a couple of scenes, since this was Seju's first time with someone else besides Sumin.

Personally I still feel the romance here is forced. Especially how Seju keeps calling Won as Won-ah. Doesn't feel convincing but whatever.
Wonah is now her official name, so when Seju wants to call her with the -ah, she has to say Wonah-ah lol.

Would they make another story only on Seju if she wasn't liked though?

From what I know, in Asia the smaller and cuter a woman is, the more attractive she is perceived. Guess this is why we see so many women acting "kawaii" and stuff, even when they're grown ups. They consider the more assertive women to be masculine. So I guess the more "passive" personalities are prefered.

Well that might explain why One felt rushed and didn't live up to the wdtfs level. They wrote what the majority wanted to see but it felt flat. It's the art that saves it from being average and cliche.
So why keep on writing for an audience that doesn't even pay? Since what artists get from their work is expressing themselves, money or both.
I imagine it must be extra frustrating to write about something you don't feel strongly for, only to not even get paid. Not saying that's necessary the case with TG though.

That's rude tbh, it's like saying I don't care about the fans who don't pay.
And even if you don't care about the fans as a community, the fans are still useful even of they don't pay. Because they will promote your story by discussing about it and luring in potential buyers.

But on the other hand, at least that means there won't be an extension of One lol. Which is good. You gotta stop at some point. They are probably tired of their own story at this point.

There are different writing styles and it's not just one correct.
By writing, you will figure out what you like the best. Personally I get really tired reading lengthy descriptions and too many fancy words. They are necessary in important scenes, but I find them boring when they are not relevant to the plot.
For example, I like Stephen King's movies, but the books go and on with the descriptions that it's hard to follow. The movies are like a summary of the books. But some others like that. But that's more of a technical thing.

Writing characters and plots is more "universal" and I think you can even know how to get better at writing these, just by reading mangas or watching anime/tv shows. You can see what characters draw you in, and think of the reasons why. Then apply it to your characters.

This is not what I was talking about exactly. You don't have to replace the word "say" with another synonym.
You can use other methods to avoid the word say altogether.

Like for example, when it's only two people talking you can just use the
"Nice weather today, right?" (name 1) said
"I don't like sunny weather much" (name 2) said.

In here, you can completely remove the "(name) said.".
That's a simplistic example, but you get what I'm trying to say.

Honestly, I think if you've never written a story before, starting from fanfictions will be helpful. Because you will start developing the basics from there.
Like how to write dialogs without repeating the word say all the time, or how to go from writing a 1k word chapter to 5k. And gain experience on knowing what parts to edit out of a chapter, or how to write scenes that properly convey what you feel to the readers.
That's more of a "technical" stuff, but with experience it's what make a story.
A good idea without proper execution doesn't turn out good. Even a very original idea (which is pretty hard to come up with) requires a good execution.

Also with fanfictions there is no pressure, and you already have the characters and the setting.

Well we never know how the story will go, but after 120 chapters I think there's a clear pattern. I really don't expect anything very interesting happening between this couple.
We already have the sex chapters. Just like Sumin and Sungji, where they just ended up being cute and giving fanservice. This is what I ultimately expect from Seju and Won too. And they're already showing the signs of heading to that direction. Aka, their romance developed very fast and we already have sex scenes between them.

On the other hand, there was only one chapter of Seju dealing with her brother (killing him) and that resolved way too fast. Also Seju learning about her mom, that was also resolved really fast. That shows me that the authors are not focused too much on the making something out of these situations (where that was a good opportunity to see Seju and Won bonding), yet we get a full chapter of sex.

Id prefer it if it focused more on the relationship instead of the supernatural/sci-fi stuff, I love sci-fi but I came here for yuri lol

Without the Sci fi elements this story is really basic. There is no drama besides the question when will they confess to each other.

I've only watched the anime. It is one of the best animes out there imo. Has some great characters as well.
I don't follow the manga though. Last time I tried checking it i got confused, because I think the anime seasons' order don't align with the manga.

I still don't understand, if the author really really wanted us to think it's great that one girl had a make-over, why'd she draw her to look better before the makeover?

I was thinking that too. Kurokawa looked better before the make over. Now she looks too plain and bland

I don't think it's terribly relevant as Kidoguchi knows Shimizu is gay, right?

He doesn't know for sure. Shimizu has only come out to Maekawa. So even if Kidoguchi suspects it, I don't think someone who is not certain of someone else being gay or how comfortable they feel openly talking about it, would use a female pronoun.
Not trying to argue, just my two cents. Seems like "they" would be more appropriate here, considering the fact that he doesn't directly use a female pronoun in Japanese as well.

Lol seems like some failed to see that Team Gaji indicates Seju is the one who has been trying so hard to use sex to escape from reality (which is a toxic method she had been doing with Sumin for these 10 years) and also run away from the pain she got after knowing the truth about her mother's death. First time is Sumin, now it's her mother or might even be because she was touched for being treated nicely. Meanwhile Won is the one who is showing her sex is not a way to erase or hide your pain. So that from now on they will learn how to love and be loved in a right away, and just take it slow. Don't push yourself so hard for something out of reach. It's just as simple as that...

How does this contradict the fact that the series has been dragged, or that maybe some people are not much into the Won x Seju development?

I at least expected (hoping) that they would know when to stop? Like ok, we had the happy ending last chapter. Now they're dragging this more? It gets to a point of it being annoying.

Also saying that Seju was crying over Sumin is a bit baseless, unless we actually have proof. They tried so hard making Seju over Sumin all these chapters. They didn't even talk to each other in that company speaking.
According to this whole development of the story, Seju was more than likely crying about how nice it felt for someone to treat her this nicely. Won-ah is a very endearing way to call her, so it's safe to say she's already very fond of her.

Also In case they start with the Sumin thing again, this will be a way worse development at this point.

I'm a little ahead (I've been reading the raws) but I'm glad to see this catching up. I think the two of them are pretty funny, it's nice to see Maekawa realize her "I hate you!" attack has lost effect.

That said, there are some minor translation quibbles. At the beginning, Shimizu says "should we go at different times?" in regards to the bath (probably no good way to put this in). In the bath, she says "they came out when washing her hair" in regard to here contacts (hazureru) not that she took them out (hazusu). Transitive/intransitive verb. Also, at the ping pong table, Shimizu is saying it's just for fun, while Kidoguchi is saying, "shut up and come at me for real". None of these are important to the plot so eh.

That said... I'm really really impressed by how well the group has managed to get the tone and character. Really I would just tie myself in knots trying to get it to come out well. I don't have the motivation to do translation and I'm really glad someone is because this manga is great and I want everyone to read it!

Oh oh, but was that "she" actually a she (when she was talking to Kidoguchi), or they translated a "they" like that?

This series is milked to no end omg. Wonder if that call is going to be related to Won's ex now. I'm trying to be positive here, but really? Despite that sex scene being drawn pretty nicely I read it with a straight face. Really, I've gotten more excited over a kiss in other mangas than this here lol. And yeah, that constant Won-ah was rather cringey than anything else. You expect me to believe Seju has fallen so fast for a girl she doesn't know that long? It's kinda like they're shoving it to our face.
I would say that at least Dowon and Seju was better than Sumin and Sungji, but seems like the latter is starting to shake now.

The lack of connection really hurts the secondary story, honestly. It would be one thing if Uta was -learning- something by interacting with these side characters. That would inform and influence the main plot and how she deals with her problems. Instead, they're just there.

This. The side characters' love story is this manga's weakest plot point. Not only because they don't being nothing for the protagonist, but also their love is kinda awful. I really don't see why that girl loves Kuroe. Kuroe is nice for a friend or/and a side character, but for a love story she is like 5 times worse than Mei from Citrus.
I only didn't mind reading about them because I needed a break from the main plot's heaviness.

I checked the pixiv one. It seems the works there are quite different from the official chapters released.

Did you mean the magazine releases (or tanks if that's it's medium)? Where can I find the official release versions? I'm curious at how different it is from the pixiv ones.

By official I meant the ones we also have here on Dynasty. Don't know the medium they're released in Japan though. But the art on pixiv isn't the same as the ones in here.
Edit: I was looking at the author's pixiv. The link listed a few posts above is actually the same chapters like here.
Btw there are some interesting scenes in the author's pixiv.

I was waiting for two weeks for this to update...!! Wish we had a lot more chapters that came out every week. It's so awesome but isn't it getting over in a few chapters?
Also I knew it would cut it there lol. This chapter felt shorter

There's one chapter left. (edit wait or you meant like completly over, i mean 1 chapter till we catch up with the raws, i don't think it's gonna end soon)

Yeah I meant when it's gonna be over for good. Thanks, I checked the pixiv one. It seems the works there are quite different from the official chapters released. Also it seems to stop when Maekawa leaves the company? so I was wondering how many chapters there could potentially be, since we already seem to be heading towards a confession and them start dating.

Personal preference would be some weird shit like Tsugumi faked her death and comes back and all three live together as a big happy family, but that's just me being a hopeful idiot since that would make very little sense in the story.

Ohh haven't thought of that at all. I so hope it happens xD although the chances are very low. But well, now I have a new headcanon to cope with this story lol
