What the hell I’m talking about (such a cute phrase you have there) is the idea that competence in one area might theoretically mean she learns in another, rather than (as is obviously the case with Mei) actually regressing such that the character who seemed to be almost 21 years old in chapter 1 of the main series now seems like she’s about 12.

You're the one implying she regressed on all facets of her character when that is simply not true. As someone had mentioned before, her being willing to discuss openly what is worrying her is something that rarely happens between couples that have decades together, let alone a bunch of high schoolers.

This series is freaking hilarious. And as someone that knows the FG scene, most of the reactions and attitudes are hilariously on-point. That said, the typesetting and translation really is pretty rough at some points but well, at least is being translated.

I for one, am really pleased that they could just talk it out. That's a huge improvement over how their relationship during citrus and a clear example of their growth both as characters and as a couple.

A shame that the guy in charge of Irodori is a complete asshole.

The thing with Grandpa is the perfect example of the cultural differences between the American and the Japanese readers of the series. For the American readers, the fact Mei was still in an engagement comes off as poor writing when in reality, that was something that was always present according to the Japanese customs, and yeah, from his perspective, he was only doing what was the best for his granddaughter by ensuring she was together with someone who would support her, unlike Amemiya.

Yes, it was wrong for Mei to not say anything to Yuzu but that is also part of her characterization. Mei is striving first and foremost to uphold the family traditions as a means to make up for what she perceived was a failure on Shou's part so she didn't know what to do but to run from Yuzu. Ironically, this meant she also made the exact same mistake as Shou did.

Actually they're different, Matsuri came in when class started than left & came back after class ended. Look at the clock & schedule on the blackboard between the two page.

Yes, the gag becomes obvious when you get to the end of the "repeat" page - Matsuri repeated her dramatic entrance routine until she got the response she wanted. (Sayaka's expression changes too; ideally some of the background characters would have moved & maybe more heads turning their way with the repeat, but I can understand the temptation to economize... ).

Sayaka told Matsuri that it's not ok to enter a class without permission. Matsuri left,then came back after class ,probably asked permission and told her she needed to talk
