Despite the playfulness, Aki and Mirino are so much honest towards each other. In a way, they are more mature than the other two.
Yukiko keeps calling her little sister "kuso bitchi"... Maybe I should've translated it in a less intense way? Haha!
Thank you for your work. One may interpret as "Shitty Bitch" or "Piece of shit bitch". Sometimes one can use "slut". Its all up to the translators! :)
What is with these delicate, slow burn stories? Where is the passion? Women kiss, women FUCK. This pure love innocence uwu stuff in yuri manga is so cringe and so unrealistic. I mean goddamn they are married and sleeping in separate rooms, kurumi is always leaving ruriko alone, like how is she okay with that?? Zero intimacy, zero acting like a couple at all. I just feel like love between women is so misrepresented in manga sometimes, as if it’s somehow less than. Anyways, apologies, end of rant
I can't agree more!!!!!!! That is why I have a hard time finding a REALISTIC Yuri manga. Not a single friend of mine act that way. OK, maybe in my circle people either do "don't ask don't tell", or they do come out, the thing thing they never do is to deny being gay IF they are truly gay (or bisexual, or demi, or trans, etc). Off those who do "don't ask don't tell", it is not because they fear the consequence of coming out. but rather haver the attitude of "it is not a big deal, if you ask, I'll answer" or "ask me if you are interested in dating me". I am some what of the don't ask don't tell type. It reduces "drama".

She may not want to let her partner knows, but I think this is just "drama". When was the last time you or someone you know would give NO information about the Emergency contact information during the hospital admittance? The only time I did that was I collapsed and passed out during registration, and my best friend who drove me filled it out. I could have or should have put down the information of my sisters if I were semi-awake, or give my friend my sisters' information.
Ruriko did not pass out....so her perception of boundaries is all screwed up/ It should always be your partner (in this case spouse) who receive the first call, or ASAP. Think about it. what if the situation is worse, and they decide to do an emergency surgery? You definitely need to get consent from the next close of kin, which is,. in this case, the wife.
Not exactly a comment for this chapter. Since we already know that not just they will get married, but also who will attend the wedding. Anyone who is in the original series will be there, but people from Plus will not be there, such as Sayaka and Miyabi. I cannot imagine Sayaka not being there, she totally trust Yuzu.(she came out to Yuzu after Yuzu came out to her), so Yuzu most likely will be the one whom Sayaka consults. The attendees show no new characters (of course, Sensei cannot think ahead because everyone thinks that the series should end after 41). This means a wedding cannot be possible after they started College. It will be weird that they would never invite a single College friend.
Mei and Yuzu thus cannot break up, unless it is AFTER the wedding, which is highly unlikely.
Assuming the wedding will occur after graduation or just before the first semester in university, that means Sensei has around 2 semester plus that one month empty time between graduation and University entrance.
So this lead to one thing: What kind of stories Sensei can pull it off? She has to come up with around 8 months worth of plot that cannot be any threat towards the wedding. Harumin X Matsuri? Transition of Student Council from Mei and Himeko to Sayaka and Miyabi? Stories concerning Sara and Nina? Himeko X Suzuran? because they are the only ones who have fiancee
Right now we have 13+1. volumes to cover 2 years of time (High school first year second semester for Mei and Yuzu after summer to the end of 1st semester of their 3rd year. summer. That means 3.5 volumes per semester .or 7 volumes until the wedding. It can also stretch out further since each volume does not use chapter numbers, but rather the episodes use dates, so Sensei can go as slow as 1 day per chapter.
So the central question is....What can Sensei do because she drew a circle around herself and now stuck with limited ideas for new plots. For example, for THIS chapter, no matter what love sickness Mei has, we know that it is just a temporary thing because Mei and Yuzu will get married. If you were Sensei, what will you do?
Can anyone explain why there is another issue will be printed for the September Yurihime? Both my August issue and the website list this manga to have another chapter in September. But the manga is over in August. Does anyone have an answer?
Well, the laws are not fantasies. The hospital reception scene is not my imagination. But in regarding legal marriage you are semi-right. In the manga first half of Ch1, initially same sex marriage would not be legal until the year after. The marriage idea was agreed upon the two of them. Five years later they would get married. But then there is a five year gap, which means it was legal by then.(fourth year).
No spoilers. The two seemed to get closer again, and started to call each other first names only with no honorific.
Well, looks like everyone has already figured out that Ruriko ended up in the hospital for emergency surgery, possibly from appendicitis.
But I am posting something that is very interesting.
So Kurumi got the news and took a taxi to the hospital, and talked to the receptionist.
"Excuse me, Um...Ruri..where is Aisawa Ruriko?"
"Are you a family member?"
"(I am) the wife"
You can clearly see what happens if a country does not recognize same sex civil union or marriage. "Are you a family member?" would ended up with a reply "(I am) a friend", which means the family can veto and ban kurumi from seeing Ruriko. However in real life situation like here in the manga, since Japan has the partnership certification system, with individual prefecture or towns granting the certificate, Kurumi simply need to bring her paperwork and says "(I am) the partner/wife" This however can only be done in the prefecture or towns which grants the certification, where the two of them live. If the hospital is located in another town that does not recognized the certificate, then kurumi is not family. If it is located in a town that recognized another town's certificate as an exchange, then kurumi is family and trumps everyone.
Being partner or "wife" automatically trumps any other relatives when it comes to medical decision making. This is the most important privilege that gay couples want. Renting an apartment with a certificate also means that the potential renters are "spouses" as landlords obviously prefer childless working couple. So yes, Usui Shio just nailed that one. The only fact that is incorrect is that the two persons are not recognized as spouses, but just partners (but still trumps all relatives). But I highly doubt that if a person declared that she is a wife (which is technically incorrect in the legal sense), a nurse or receptionist would refused to give out any information.
So yes, Usui Shio just demonstrated a potential nightmare scenario if a couple does not have the certificate. In the manga the couple actually get the marriage application (ie. license) from city hall. Sensei never did disclose whether the application was completed and send it back to the city hall, or it was completed but did not return to the city hall. One way or another the two of them is still, legally, completely unrelated.
i keep trying to go back and get into this series but i can't. it's like the characters keeps on having amnesia every 5 >chapters or something and their progress goes back to square one. it doesn't seem like mei ever matured as a character >and that sucks. it seems the author needs some help writing the story out.
Mei actually is maturing very quickly right after accepting the proposal. But you really need to pay lots of attention to some subtle hints and also what she say. Also, unusual facial expression, such as the front page concerning "love sickness". Remember, she is the opposite of Yuzu, Anything that pops into her head. she will spend time chew on it. before saying anything, and usually it is "....." or "Nani?".
Pay attention to Chapter 6, the board meeting. It is a HUGE step for Mei. After Shou was humiliated and insulted by the old men, Mei took charge and says she will take the chairmanship, her way, or the highway, while also declaring that Yuzu is her partner in a serious manner. Read it panel by panel and see if you can catch certain things, such as the facial expression of every member of the board. Some are laughing, some are in shock, some are confused, and of course, for Gramps, it is always a face palm.
There is no doubt in my mind that it is the board that leaks out the information that Yuzu and Mei are partners. All their friends and their family (especially gramps who works on a plan to eliminate rumors) seal their lips. Yet when sayaka mentioning it to Miyabi, it sounds like an open secret or an interesting rumor that you can tell everyone knows it by then.
The two of them actually think like somewhat of a married couple after the proposal. For Yuzu it is "My dream is your dreams anyway", while for Mei, "Since you are going to be my life partner...". Keep those two sentences in mind whenever Mei does something, and then think about what would she do IF she does not have Yuzu in mind at all whatsoever or only in mind concerning school codes. Compare them.
She asked Himeko for advice exactly because she is getting mature and know when and whom to ask for help to solve a problem. Being able to identify a problem is a sign of growing maturity.

Oh, back to the real topic. This is the sweetest manga serialization that I have read for a long time (of course, nothing is sweeter than citrus..wait, you do need to not read volume 9, because that was depressing)
Oh, sensei really needs to get rid of that annoying teacher. That character really ruins everything. Sometimes you just have to say no when you try to have a comic relief character.

Was Wakana playing Liszt/Beethoven symphony no 5? That’s quite the complicated piece for a middle schooler…
Honestly it is not that hard to play. I am NOT a pianist. I have zero music talent but I can still play the type of music at the same level of Liszt/Beethoven when I was in my final year as junior high student. I was even practicing Saint-Saëns 2nd Concerto for fun. My graduate recital was Mozart's fourteenth. I knew my own limit, and quit piano when I saw that brick wall. So after the recital, I never touched the piano again. Won an award for it, but pretty much meaningless since I have no desire to continue. So I walked away.
I chose woodwind instruments after that. Sax, Clarinet, even Oboe and Bassoon. Jack of all trades, good for nothing. But I just want to have fun. Jazz and Blues are my thing.

I figured it out, Thanks Afkeroge & Luinthoron. Hope yall finish the translation soon. I really want to make sure my own translation from the raw of first part of the chapter can be compared to your translation, It is a little bit beyond me, unlike the second half of the chapter.
Spoilers for the Final Chapter
Aya went inside Sei's apartment to search for Yoru's photo. After finding it she thanks Yoru because without her Aya and Sei would have never met. After that Aya ATE Yoru's photo LITERALLY. Aya has healed Sei's scar, time to move on. Then Sei arrived home and greeted by Aya
"Our relationship has no name". Happily Ever after.

So whatever happened to the idea of Yuri should never has a tragic ending if you have reach a certain amount of chapters and tankoubon???
That idea? Never existed.
Although there is always a tiny possibility that it goes for the also often seen ending with her returning from abroad after a time skip after leaving to have a small chance of a cure.
My bad, it was not Yuri, but shoujo. You do not make your readers read through 24 tankoubons plus their entire junior and senior high school days to have the manga having a grand tragedy. That was a 70s and 80s thing....
I feel bad for anyone who is still reading ガラスの仮面 since 1976 and there is still no ending. I am sure if it ends as a grand tragedy, a lot of Japanese women will be pissed off and burn the books. At least I was smart enough to have watched the anime, then stopped reading at around vol.12, just to prevent me from hooking by it for life. We are possibly talking about women in their 60s reading it. 49 and counting tankoubons are insane.
Also, at least I did not touch Ōke no Monshō(1976- ) that's 66 volumes so far. I wonder how many original readers back in 1976 will be still alive by the time IF this series will be finished, especially if it ends up being a tragedy?

New chapter today or in two days?
Nope, we got conned. It was listed in the preview, both from (my copy of) July issue and the website, but when the actual product showed up, it was not there. Thank goodness Citrus is not my primary read, mine is detached relationship.
It is not the first time Yurihime has a false advertising. Their very first issue listed Loveless (Kouga Yun) as the headline on the front page....the series never got punished there. Besides, mangaka are not bots, they can get sick too.
Why Mei has to consult Himeko?
Let see how many friends Mei actually REALLY have that are on her side.
1. Sara (common friends with Yuzu ,on Mei's side...) too far away. no go. No cell phone anyway.
2. Kayo (graduated), not that close. We really do not know much about her anyway.
3. Himeko, closest friend, thus by default.
Everyone else is either Yuzu's friends such as Harumin, or common friends but on Yuzu side, such as Matsuri.
..Wondering if being a bot has something to do with the lack of friends.....
So much for being "popular". More like Empresses with no clothes...
Oh yes, Yuzu must be a bot doctor, not just fixing a W-I-P Mei, but managed to fix Sayaka (I would have never thought that the ONLY homophobic closeted lesbian in the series can be fixed...)

Is Ichika the ONLY person who can kill Aria? Aria did ask Chiyo to do the same thing, but Chiyo refused to kill Aria. Ichika, hence, is the logic candidate because of her bloodline and virginity. Since it is not that hard to get the sword initially, Aria could have taken the sword away and looked for another candidate..
"Semelparous, adjective: reproducing or breeding only once in a lifetime." I see what you're up to, Ogino Jun.
The question really, is, who is the semelparous one? The mure, or the human bastioner?
By judging Yorino's ability when she is full of anger, it makes no sense that her mure mother would die that easily in a battle. There were still a lot of bastioners fighting afgter she was mortally injured. You would have thought she should be the last one standing. Does that mean a mure will gradually lost the lifeforce (or aegis) which eventually becomes weak that one is just a mortal? Hence she is semelparous? On the other hand, Yorino's blood mother retired because within 3 years of raising Yorino, all her aegis was gone. That means she cannot possibly cause another Mure to get pregnant. Thus she is "semelparous".
I am strangely getting hook on this manga. At this point I think we may as well assume that nobody is safe, including Yorino, think of it as Game of Thrones Sci-Fi version.
The one thing I don't understand this work is that. "Each others' guardians", there is a lack of sex but also lack of exaggerated body parts such as oversized boobs. Since "Each others' guardians" is the "prequel", at least when it comes to ideas, I wonder why the author or the editor or both decide to add many sexual elements on Semelparous. Who are the readers they were trying to entice? I almost stop reading it after a few chapters exactly because of these sexual elements. I am not a prude, but I find these elements at in the way of the plot, or rather, the author spent way too much time on the sex but not on the plot.
It does have very good cliff handers.
I am reading this serialization by default.. It is the only sci-fi in Yurihime right now.
Page 7....who's that????? Oh no
I find it hard to believe that it was one of her classmates. The person looks like an adult.
Assuming this will end as a tragedy.
When was the last manga serialization that was published in Yurihime has a tragic ending?
Aoi is old when we finally see her on the wheel chair. The question I like to know the answer is that, did she grow old while being in a long term induced coma, and when she wakes up after receiving the cure she stops aging?
OR she grows old extremely slowly and still retains her school girl body, then after receiving the cure, she ages normally and reach old age?
Just get rid of Natsume. Coming out can be hard, but if you are so scared that you do not even want to be seen with your partner, while you are perfectly hold hands with another girl, then you really should call it off, because it is unfair to the partner. Yuni is blogging about her life mostly because she is frustrated with Natsume's coward mindset. Yuni can spend the rest of her life doing this way and will never get Natsume to see her as equal, it will not surprise me that Natsume will marry a man and still stringing along Yuni.
It is hard to frame Fuuko as a stalker, After all, Yuni put up a blog about herself, and exposing her identity when she clearly takes some photos with her face showing, Fuuko either by accident saw the blog location in the cell phone, or accidentally run into Yuni's site by chance. For all we know, Yuni might have put her real school name in the blog, thinking that nobody will care.
OK, Fuuko clearly has one or two screws missing in her brain. But nothing she did was out of malice, It just sometimes showed that she was inexperience and also does not understand boundaries, but her transgression is very mild. To sit with Yuni because Yuni typed that she was lonely, that is what a real girlfriend is for. Not Natsume who chose playing volleyball while leaving Yuni all by herself moping. Surely she can either invite Yuni to watch the match, or spend time with Yuni after the match. Instead she behaved like a cheater. Fuuko asked Yuni to let her be the secondary girlfriend, while Natsume does not even resemble 1/10th of a girlfriend. There is only one outcome if Yuni kept trying to date Natsume, which will be Yuni getting abused from Natsume. I think Natsume thought she was the girlfriend of Yuni, but does not understand the difference between girlfriend, and girl friend. Wearing identical underwear which nobody can see...big f****** deal.
Even Citrus' Yuzu and Mei would wear their engagement rings out in the open during weekends, and Yuzu almost always wear her ring as a pendant while at school. While at school sometimes Mei would wear it as a pendant especially if she has a stressful day. The ring became her charm.
I do not see Natsume and Yuni would worked out. One is scared, the other is passive pessimistic.
I wonder if the time spent talking with each other between Yuni and Fuuko in one day is more than the time spent talking with each other between Yuni and Natsume for an entire week.
My conclusion? Dump the coward.

Well, considering the text on the very first page this manga, this was obviously coming :(
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kimi_to_tsuzuru_utakata_ch01#1
Thanks! I did not take notice of that. Now it makes sense that she wants just the summer...very specific. So right at the beginning in Chapter 1, is simply the MC described what has happened during that summer. After that it is no longer about "present" but rather "past". So since she is not going to live long, the question is will she let the MC knows about her illness. Also, it now makes complete sense that right at the beginning she barged into the MC and clearly she has a crush / in love towards the MC. Having a set amount of time left, I am sure anyone would do the same thing like she did. Your goal in life suddenly completely changed. Time is running out, so don't waste time on things that are not important, such as drama.
The story is interesting so far, but not interesting enough to cause me having an addiction.
So whatever happened to the idea of Yuri should never has a tragic ending if you have reach a certain amount of chapters and tankoubon???
