The time has come, real new sequel movie has just been announced, with all key staff members returning: director Simbo Akiyuki, scriptwriter Urobuchi Gen, character designer Aoki Ume and Taniguchi Junichirou, composer Kajiura Yuki, alternate space designer Gekidan Inu Curry, and animation studio SHAFT, with all the seiyuu back with their roles. We're blessed.

^^ Laika is in canon fully capable of adjusting the size of her form, for example she once did so at the Devil Lord's castle, no need for mental solution, but I like your plausible reason for her to do so :)

(on that note, seriously though, why do series with such heavy yuri tease and never get anywhere nearly serious like this get the pass, while Hibike! Euphonium gets all the flaks for being "yuri bait" when KyoAni beautifully crafted such good yuri material de novo out of a weak het story? Is it because fans back then felt "betrayed" when they researched the source material and thus held the grudge? The prominence and persistence of such diss against H!E has always bugged me since. I don't see people having that much of a problem fantasizing canonically het characters in gay ships with other series :-??)

^ I believe so as well. In ch79 Anthony also observed that they may use the ghost that fell before them to cushion the fall. The cliff is also right underneath the soot train, there's bound to have quite a layer of accumulated stray soot down there. Functionally they were put on a bus, and the bus can come back, like with Shirley, who we even saw crumbled away and 'died', with multiple witnesses on scene.

^^ That's why we should always separate the performers from the characters. Otherwise it breaks immersion and greatly reduces our enjoyment. It would be nice to have the same good thing going both in fiction and real life, but the world is unfortunately not that perfect. Also, the very job description of acting is pretending to be something you're not, so that's kind of expected.

Canon couple <3 Unfortunately they failed with their rebellion and jumped off a cliff together to avoid capture and brainwashing. Tragic couples are my jam.

Just binged the latter half of available chapters to catch up, and I gladly report that there is canon yuri in the series, shown not told, and there are good artworks of them already.

Also, while this series' focus is mainly on mystery (though when has that ever stopped us serial shippers?), there's ample shipping materials with how the characters cling to each other as they develope their synchronisation. I'm sure there will be more art of them coming.

Easy there, I was just making a little observation as an expression of my sense of wonder at the speed of the artists and upload, and the comparison was made only because MM's case stands out and in a sort of similar fashion.

I find it quite curious and somewhat non-standard practice that the colours of Mikoto's and Nekozaki's hairs are quite inconsistent across various illustrations of them: Neko's ranges between very light blonde and grey with slight pinkish tint, while Mikoto's is anywhere between brown and brownish/purpleish red. (The rest of the cast has their hair colours the same in their meager number of colour illustrations for both versions of the series, like seriously, I scoured all over and including their character info pages and the recent vol 2 extras there's only 4 of Pengin, 3 of Shishimaru and Yozora, 2 of Takkun and Tsubaki, and none of sensei, though no one gives a damn about sensei)

^ yeah, dead serious :)) Like, "can't take Madoka in her human life, then I'll follow her to heaven where that pesky transfer student can't interfere".

Guys, all those little sweet details are fine and great, but what about the fact that it's because of Michiru that Nana first felt conflicted and doubtful about the mission she was groomed and trained since childhood for, the gruesome mission she previously carried out with no hesitation whatsoever, and then finally Nana went against that very mission for Michiru's sake, withstood fatal strikes after lethal strikes to protect Michiru, until she was dying and would definitely be dead if not for Michiru sacrificing her own life to bring her Nana back?
