Edit: I still think it would be a handy idea to have a link. Maybe the Sequel and Prequel tags could lead to the requisite story instead of to the a list of sequels and prequals. That seems more useful for these tags.

I think any story with either the Sequel or the Prequel tags should have some kind of link to the related story.

If you want the option to pack maximum tear-inducing misery in a story , the teenage years of someone born in Japan around 1933 is a pretty good setting. Poverty, starvation, ruins, gangs of orphan children, shell-shocked homeless soldiers, the awareness you were raised in a world of lies...

edit: I (...don't...) recommend looking up a manga named Cocoon. It's a historically informed story about a class of schoolgirls during the Battle of Okinawa IIRC, slightly yuri and really fucking depressing.

The movie Grave of the Fireflies is gritty and depressing look into the lives of Japanese war orphans. I get a little teary eyed just mentioning it.

I was having a nice day, and was starting to cheer up after a few crappy months. Better read the new chapter of The End of a Dream, before I get too optimistic about the world.

I can't tell if that bit at the end was romantic confession, or are my yuri goggles making me read too much into it.

I liked the mini S&M tutorial at the end. It was cute. I wonder if Mira is actually into that stuff, or did she just do research for her own do diligence

It's like a "will they, or won't they". Only it's being run backwards, so you know they won't. It's hard to read because you know that it has a depressing outcome. However it's almost better this way. I would be really heartbroken to get through the whole story, rooting for them, to get together, only to have my hope brutally dashed at the end.

Kita thought Sakuma was a guy in drag??? Am I reading that right? Or am I missing something?

I don't think I really have no-go tags, but the presence of Love triangle probably changes the calculation a lot for someone who does. Yeah, the incest might squick you out, but if adult troubles and drama are your jam at the same time, it's tough to be too picky. The love triangle at a glance gives some hope you can have the cake and eat it too, I'd imagine. On the other hand, what if it's an incestuous love triangle? I guess that'd be a total nightmare for some and they'd nope out immediately.

I like the story, and the art work if ok. But I could do without sempi's exaggerated boobs. They just look unreal.

It looks like it's going to be a bitter sweet story, about time lost and wasted, because the MCs ignored their hearts and did what society expected of them instead. I always find these kind of stories heart wrenching.

Edit: It looks like the old women, and possibly the granddaughter as well, are victims of that troublesome belief that homosexuality is just a fleeting quirk of youth.

It's notable that the "moralizing controversies" seem to be especially virulent concerning those series that I think of as "smut with something on its mind"--i.e., series like Asagi Ryuu's Age 15, Flowerchild's It's a Detached Relationship, and this one, that is, where the sex is depicted quite viscerally, where there are "problematic" aspects to the relationships (often age-gap), and where the setup implies a certain level of character development. (Or you could switch it around: "A Romantic Drama That Yearns For Smut.")

Such series seem to create a good deal of anxiety and ambivalence in many readers--hence the folks who (apparently) would be relieved if this series just went full-metal hentai. (I don't recall seeing many lemon-squeezing debates about the moral nuances of stories by Mira or similar shlick-fests, but I don't hang in those environs much anyway, so I could be wrong.)

Maybe with just a straight up sex story the characters don't feel real. Who cares that a imaginary high school girl is getting plowed by an imaginary teacher. Where with a drama the characters are more fleshed out. They feel more real to us.

Seto keeps willingly hanging out with Sesaki, even though Sesaki constantly sexually harasses her. I know that doesn't equal consent, but it's got to mean something.

Edit: I would think if Sesaki's aggressive sexual advances really disturbed Seto, she would avoid the older woman as much as possible. And spending time alone with the sempi, in her apartment would be the last think Seto would want to do.

Forget the education system failing her, This woman had to grow up in bubble or a monastery, or something. I learned more accurate sex information from my friends at school. Hell I think my 6yr old nephew knows more about "where babies come from" than this woman.

And it's not fair to single out Texas, like that. There are plenty of southern states that have just awful education systems.
