Anyone buy Eyja yet? I'm so tempted to roll in both banners for the guaranteed 5* just to make it faster. I want to save for anniversary, I don't want another heartbreak.
Got a crowd control tag as I was typing this lol Im at 136 now.
I'll finish the maps today. My brain has been mush for a few days.
I'm currently on 175 certs, so I should have enough before her banner ends. Along with gathering certs from recruitment, I'm throwing all originium on single rolls to speed up the process and hoping I'll get her so I could save those certs/buy FEater, but I'm not expecting it.
FGO could work as a FE or FF Tactics clone but eh they ain't gonna bother.
I mean, why bother investing and developing actually good game, when milking your current players by continuing making half-assed garbage seems to be just as profitable if not more?

If it keeps raking it in, we'll probably be seeing a ton more triple A console gacha games in the future.
Most triple A games already include loot boxes aka gacha mechanics in the game, so at this point gaming is fucked already anyway.
To be fair, my first reaction was also that she'll cut herself either by accidentally moving it or by pricking herself with sharp tips (ngl the way she kissed it, kinda made me feel like she's about to lick it and I could feel the pain coming) and I know from experience that just touching the blade of knife etc can lead to cuts if you press it too hard or make the smallest movement (assuming the edge is properly sharp), so the fact she didn't hurt herself was really impressive. So I don't think 2Spirit reaction was thaaaat much off.

Wait, what!? Are you fucking kidding me!? IT UPDATED!?
Got Specialist and Survival tag, which guaranteed Manticore.
That's why I hate gacha games. So did 10 roll on Eyja banner. Got Lappland, who while not on rate up was still nice, cos I wanted her. So gave in and decided to do another 10 roll, which ended up with 2 Crossiants and I believe 1 more 5 star, though I don't remember who, but it wasn't rate up. I decided to screw it and did last 10 roll from Originium I had. Blue bag. So I started spending my 12 tickets. I think 3rd was Warfarin, which is nice and surprisingly with 4th or 5th I got 6 star... Hellagure. I like him, but damn, it wasn't even Magallan. Rate up really hates me and I dropped Hellagure again instead of banner 6 star I actually wanted (Nian). At least I'm quite close to 180 and I should be able to get remaining to buy her from shop, but still the salt is there. Also it's quite annoying that I drop those Crossiant dupes, cos she doesn't really look that great gameplay wise and I really wanted to have my own FEater, but if I buy Eyja I won't be able to get her from shop.

Out of curiosity, is there any particular part of VtM that you guys like or is it specifically the entire vampire package?
While I do like the setting of VtM, for me personally it was mostly just about playing as vampire. I probably could enjoy just playing as sole vampire character as well, but being part of vampire society and interacting with other vampires (NPC or players) was pretty cool. Anyway, I want everyone to have fun, so as long as I could get behind the setting I was open to other possibilities and even wouldn't mind giving them a shot before deciding for good, but I didn't expect other people to be so quick to pass. I guess as always finding the GM is the hardest part.

I don't know what to say. I remember reading stuff by Itou Hachi before that were cute and fluffy. Recently I've been reading the newer works and came across this. Just what happened? I still like the author's works. That art style can make me read almost anything haha. I'm just genuinely surprised.
Their works always had unsettling implications hiding in the background. Just usually the focus on cute and fluffy stuff would distract you from noticing it. The dark staff is simply more visible in more recent works.
Didn’t you want to run a game?
Not really? I always wanted to be a player.
Also I'd rather not be GM, because I didn't play many sessions as player and my experience at GM'ing is very limited.
Also, as someone who isn’t terribly familiar with White Wolf’s products? What exactly are Geniuses? And what is Exalted?
Not clue about Geniuses I assume some kind of playable clan or organization from 1 of their settings, most likely Exalted. As for Exalted itself, it's different setting using similar system like VtM and other White Wolf's games.

Does that make sense?
Yes.
If we go exalted, would I be the one GMing, or does anyone else want to run a game?
Considering you seem to be the only one experienced enough to run session, I guess yes if you're ok with that. Unless someone else wants to raise to the challenge.
I think you miss my point.
I guess that's what I get for reading thread randomly and trying to join discussion in the middle without reading everything.
You only see label in language vocabulary, but i see it as a way to think and construct your identity, as long as thinking is also a inner exercise. You don't need this but somebody else might does.
That's why I specifically said "Of course I understand the convenience of shorthands and labels and why some people want or have a need for a way to identify with other similar people, so it can have its use."
Finally, i just want to say that english isnt my native language, nor my second, so that's why i might seem a nazi vocabulary for you.
Don't worry. English isn't my native language either.
General consensus among the community is hating it too.
Oh, good to know I'm not alone x3
The greatest fear: invisible wraiths
Yes xD I watched 1 video where guy was talking how stupid reunion is for not thinking about doing it.
This wouldn't be the first time. It is not unique to Arknights to have a That One Level. For me, it was 4-7 (didn't have Lappland at the time) which even with Lapp is kinda annoying. There's also 5-3 and 5-7. For beginners like myself when I was starting, 3-4 can be harder than 3-8 especially since clearing 3-4 is necessary to unlock elite 2 promotion. Something which you just get used to I guess.
Well I was talking from experience of playing few gachas and games in general. That first/lower cost ap levels usually are easier, hence why they're lower ap. Especially in events, where ap cost is supposed to be a trade off. In AK, where there's really no event currency, it's less important, but still that's usually how it was. And well episode through 0 to 2 is what I'd call easier. From episode 3-4 I'd say game started to pick up with difficulty, so those stages being harder doesn't really surprise me. And obviously depend on operators and your preferences, you'd find some gimmicks/maps harder to figure out than other. In general I overall I do enjoy challenge when maps are harder to beat. I just personally find invisibility annoying to begin with, so most stages that use it I find frustrating to beat by default and since this time you need to unlock later stages in order I wanted to beat lower ones quickly to focus on mats I'd actually farm, so the fact I couldn't do that was annoying. I didn't really mean to start some huge discussion about AK's difficulty. Was just venting a bit.
Also I actually beat 4-7 without Lapp. Took me a day or 2 (like most stages after certain point), but it felt satisfying once I beat it. Again SV-2 is just special case in this... case...
Again, I'll shill oyuki ch. He does upload his guides early due to playing in CN. I think his vids should be understandable enough?
Yes, I was just saying. Eckogen should have made his video by now, but even if not, I did watch that video and I'll probably try doing something similar. In the first place I only made few runs to get a feeling about the map, I didn't even really start seriously trying to beat it. I just wanted to complain, cos it looked like a lot of pain.
Medals are just for bragging rights. You can put medals on your profile lol. Tho how many people actually check other people's profile...
Oh. I thought they look like something you can put on profile (and profile did have place for picture, but no way to actually set one, so I was wondering what's up with that), so the fact you actually can do it is neat. And yea, nobody checks them ever x3

I'm sorry but you missed this conversation:
My bad then. Since it wasn't part of the comment you quoted, I thought I had all the context.
There are ace who claimed that they can even "enjoy" sexual acts. That's why it's puzzling me.
For me at least, imagining that someone might not have desire for something, but while doing it, they find experience enjoyable isn't really that hard. Doesn't really sound like some big, impossible contradiction I can't wrap my head around, but maybe I'm just very open for stuff like that.
And to continue your point, for me the "real" ace is someone who view "eating" as just some meaningless activities.
Not to be rude, but maybe the issue is that instead of trying to determinate who is and isn't "real" ace by yourself and what feels correct to you, you should just listen to people who actually are ace and what they say their experience is like? Alternatively trying to find and read some study or research or something.
I think the issue with this and other similar things, is that people want to have very narrow and specific definition/label for everything, but it just doesn't work that way. Every person experiences love, attraction and their sexuality differently. There will obviously be some things common between medium or even large groups of people, but there will also be a lot small difference between even small groups that on first glance look identical. That's why imo focusing too much on putting people in proper groups or labels is not really productive and we should rather look at them as individual and their specific experience. Of course I understand the convenience of shorthands and labels and why some people want or have a need for a way to identify with other similar people, so it can have its use. It becomes a issue once it either becomes a harmful generalization or becomes so narrow that it actually starts excluding people who by all means should belong to that group.
The fact it's gacha-base and you roll for characters is honestly all I needed to discourage me from ever trying it out.
damn, that can lead to some very frustrating relationships if both parties involved are not in the same wavelenght
That's exactly why communication is key.
Zero interest in sexual acts. We can still have sex, we just don’t have desire for it.
I try hard to dig deep into how you can enjoys someting yet not have any desire for it, without being on the puritans side.
They said "have" not "enjoy". Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you enjoy it. Imagine eating a food that you are neutral for. You don't particularity love or even like it, but it's not like you hate or dislike it either. You're fully capable of eating it and filling your stomach with it, but you don't necessary enjoy eating it.
Really, whether it's multiple clans or multiple races, I think the most important thing is to have everyone work towards a common, long-term goal.
That's pretty much what our GM did. We all played different clans, but we were forced to work together because of external force. In first session we were part of normal Vampire world, but in second we were actually on the side of Vampires that opposed the normal order (don't remember how that group was called), so that made having different clans easier. We still were put together by coincidence and forced to work together by necessity though.
I'm fairly confident that I could write a character that could fit, given those two conditions, but neither of them are reasonable constraints for this thread, which is why I only mentioned a mixed campaign in passing.
So I'm assuming you wouldn't be up for it? Well seems like the 2 systems most people here are interested in are VtM and Exalted, so considering you're still against VtM, I guess Exalted would be the best bet? We can always run a trial session to get better hang of it/each other and once we do consider changing it again.

Also I don't think the first two stages are that hard, you just need to get used to the enemy pathing.
Well, once I beat any stage, I feel like it's incredibly easy in retrospect, because now I have complete understanding of it and know how to beat it. But there's difference between beating a stage in few runs without really having to think too hard about strategy, how I beat SV-1 and having to spend dozens of attempts memorizing exact pathing and timing of enemies, where and when enemies spawn and what I'm supposed to do when. I understand and even expect later stages, that drop more/better drops to be harder, but the first 2-3 ones usually are fairly easy, especially since you won't even be really farming them. What really annoys me is that I know once I beat this stage I'll never run it again, so I really only need to beat it to progress further, so I feel like it's unnecessary hard.
The second stage especially since the mages don't just go straight to the blue box, they walk back and forth for a while before actually going into your base, leaving you time to activate the detectors.
If it was just caster, then sure, it wouldn't be end of the world, but unless you cheat with SA, you can only kill them near detector, because you can't block them, while dealing with bottom line that quite quickly start spawning butchers, which aren't the easiest to deal with, without maxed out operators. In fact you need to deal with them fast, because operators tend to focus bottom line over casters when you reveal them so in order to kill them, you need to kill bottom line first. And that's not to mention that detector has recharge time and casters spawn quite fast, so you actually need to time it properly. It's nice most of map is in bushes, but it become kinda meaningless when you need to deploy all your operators next to detector anyway or deploy a lot of medics, to keep everyone alive from casters. And as if that wasn't hard enough, not too long after map starts enemy detector units start spawning top that you need to deal with as well, otherwise casters will murder all your operators. And as cheery of the top in middle of the stage, freaking mortar guy is starting to spawn. So on top of all the bs that is there already, you also need to deploy all your operators incredibly fast to deal with mortar guy and not get caught off guard. Especially since order of deployment matters, so just like with Faust, that means you need to setup before morter guy shows up and once they start spawning, you can't deploy anyone else, because they'll just get focused. I'm sorry, but that's just not the kind of map you want to lead with in your event.
You can complete both of the first stages with just 3 stars (+ Shaw for the 1st stage). You can see the strategies from KyoStinV, here's stage 1 and stage 2.
Of course you can. I'm pretty sure if I spend enough time on this map, I'll figure it out. The thing is it'll take way longer than it should and I can't spend ap on later stages, until I unlock and beat them, so I'll be forced to spend ap on normal stages, kinda wasting it. I intended to just copy how Eckogen did it, but when I was playing event, he didn't do video on it yet.
Also the recommended level for the first two stages are E1 Lvl1 and E1 Lvl35 respectively, you don't need to max the low star units to use. The reason Kyo has his maxed out is cause he already E1 maxed his 3 stars and E2 20'ed every single character in his account. You never need to have the exact same levels as his to follow his guide.
That's why I prefer to watch Eckogen than Kyo. Even if he disclaim it every time, the truth is he's still using E2 lvl 20 operators and that level difference can make all the difference. I know from experience. So unless you actually use E1 max lvl, you'll not know whatever they're enough or not. So the fact Eckogen actually uses E1s and beats it, is much more convincing.
If you have entered a stage once, whether failed it or practice, you can then look at the info and see the enemies.
Actually in order to get info on enemies you saw in map, you need to lost. If you quit in the middle, whatever practice or actual run, the enemies you saw won't be added to database. It's pretty annoying to be honest.
So they added that view stories in the game feature already. It's pretty neat, but I don't understand 1 thing. So I got enough records to unlock events I actually finished immediately, but rest is locked. And while in shop of current event you can buy more of that unlocking items and unlock Operational Intelligence, all the stories from Public Affairs, seems to be unavailable. Does that mean I can only unlock them by playing reruns?
Also this medal thing looks fun, but does it actually do anything?

I’d have the chat room/Discord/etc. and all the other requisite papers up on my computer and my textbook open on my lap. That way I could keep an eye on the game and respond when necessary whilst also finishing the required readings (which generally takes an hour or two, depending on the specific reading). It means my attention would be a bit split, but not terribly so.
Ah, sure. As long as you can pay enough attention, there's nothing really stopping you from doing something else in the background. It's really matter if you'll enjoy playing like that.

I think this is the best roll I've ever gotten in a gacha ever. And it was my first 10-roll, too
Lol, gj xD
Attempt 3? What happened to the first two attempts?
Our original session died, because our GM became too busy to run it. I made a thread trying to recruit people again, but there was no interest.
Don't know if I'd be able to commit to seven hour at a time sessions, but I would be interested.
It all honestly depends how fast we're able to do things. After going to all the trouble of assembling all the players to play, it'd be a waste to not really achieve anything during the session and/or barely progress the story. So it's not that session has to last 7 hours, it's more that it should last long enough that everyone has their fill for a week/month/however often we'd play. Simply because of nature of doing it on chat it takes more time to achieve the same things, you'd achieve during 3-4 hours spoken session. It's quite possible to have shorter sessions if everything goes smoothly and/or we're able to have our fill in shorter amount of time.
I would also be open to the possibility of a more inclusive world of darkness campaign, if certain players would prefer not to play vampires.
Not sure how exactly it would work, but I wouldn't necessary mind either if it means everyone is satisfied, though of course I'm also open to trying out something new.
Hmm... well the thing eating up most of my time right now is law school, so I highly doubt that will have cleared up by the time you are ready to begin (at least I hope it doesn’t).
Oh yea, definitely xD Good luck with that!
Depending on the day, though, I could still probably make it if you folks would be alright with me doing my readings at the same time.
What does that mean exactly?

I feel cheated. The low cost ap maps are supposed to be easier! That SV-2 is insanely hard. I have issue even starting to wrap my head around how to deal with all the bs it has. That's why I hate invisibility as a mechanic, cos it incredibly limits your options with operators and forces you to deal with it in very specific ways. Also did 10 roll on banner, but it was pretty poor one. Got Croissant, so at least I completed the Penguin squad.
Omega Deuse ngl, I really want to play VtM, so if you'd need to force yourself, then that sucks. As for other systems, I pretty much never played anything else, so I honestly can't comment on quality of systems/settings outside of if it sounds like something I want to play.
I’d certainly be down to play VtM, if you’d be willing to run for a complete newbie. My schedule is a tad bit tight at the moment, though.
Don't worry. I imagine even if we somehow find enough people interested, I doubt we'd start playing right away. Speaking of which, kinda sad the 2 people who showed the most interest, probably won't see this thread considering they both only had 4 posts and only commented on images.
What were you thinking of for the format (voice chat? text? Map or no map?) and the time you’d want to run?
Last time we played we used chat room, cos that was the most comfortable way for everyone (especially considering english wasn't native language to most players). Idk if our GM used maps, but definitely they didn't show them to us. Time is the most problematic part, because we all live all over the world, so when (time) and when (day) we'll play will heavily depend on everyone's availability. 1 thing to remember though is that written sessions take longer, so we usually played around for 7 hours, but again it all can be easily adjusted based on all players.
