I haven't read the raws for AnoKiss (for the previous chapters), but generally speaking, the spellings for "Shinya" and "Mahiru" are basically opposites, with Shinya meaning full night and Mahiru being full noon/daytime or whatever you want to call it.

I think Amane does bring something to Ryou and Nina − a sort of unconditional kindness and forgiveness. What she lacks so far is… empathy? She's someone you can easily feel comfortable with when you know her, but she's not really a good shoulder to cry on. As Ryou says: "I understand, trust me. Probably… better than Amane does."

What we also need is more details on when and how Amane and Nina met exactly. We know how Ryou and Amane met, how Ryou and Nina met, but we just know that Amane and Nina are together, somehow.

Otherwise, a bit of spoiler, don't open if you haven't read chap 30. Volume 6 cover

I found that Nina and Ryou's relationship evolved a bit too quickly, honestly, though you could say it's justified by them knowing each other from their online personas. A few more scenes wouldn't have hurt.

Still, I like that Ryou has both something in common with Amane (books) and with Nina (cats). IIt's like each girl brings each other one something she lacks… Though yeah, Amane seems to be the "flattest" of the three so far.

It'd be quite funny if at the end of the day, it was Amane, the polyamorous, who was left out because she failed to commit to anyone.

That would just be sad. .−.

Chapter 29 will be there soon, and chapter 30 probably not long after.

The world desperately needs more yuri that's not in high-school. But especially underworld yuri, yes.

The font looks a bit overloaded to me. =[

^^ What do you think of the way the series is structured? Are you fine with the mini-arcs or do you think focusing on a single couple would be better? (I guess it doesn't matter if you don't like the couples much, but just curious. >.>)

Cause it seems there are two opposite stances among readers.

The visual storytelling in page 20 & 21 are amazing enough already, then you realize they are a spread. Nakatani is truly the greatest yuri artist we've ever had. I'm glad she's my goddess.

That nighttime scene… I can't… I'm dying… That's too adorable. >>___<< It's quite symptomatic though. Both Yuu and Sayaka are acting as a deadlock for the other to keep their impulses in check. Though Touko has only her self-restraint (and pitch-black darkness) for that. >.>

(Pretty funny that both YagaKimi and AnoKiss have a love triangle-themed chapter with a semi-fanservice scene this month.)

"Yatteru" can mean both, so it still works. Since she's talking about chatting with her, LINE is more likely.

That phone scene was a gem of visual storytelling. <3 This author is so good at creating faint emotions from mundane scenes.

Oh. I already like the new girl. =O She has quite an usual design and personality for this series.

Yeah, it was in the "recap" pages of the early mag raws (I took this from the raw of chapter 4).

I'm kinda hoping for a teacher romance for the next not-AyaYuri arc. There was an advertising text teasing that very early in the series…

We need more adult lesbians in yuri. Like Hakozaki-sensei and the manager in YagaKimi.

They may not be "doomed to fail", but they're certainly more fragile by nature. A very altruistic person like Amane is a minimum to hold all the sides of the triangle together.

That said, I don't think this arc will end badly for anyone. Because… well… this is AnoKiss. Things never end badly.

Higurashi's pacing was fine for the first two arcs (the end of episode 8, brrr), but afterwards it gets way too fast and compressed. They shouldn't have tried to squish 6 full arcs in a single season. Though I guess it's not coincidental that I discovered Onikakushi and Watanagashi by the anime but discovered the other arcs in VN. The overly fast pacing stood out much more to me after I read the VN.

The second season was admittedly better, mostly because, well, they only had the last two arcs to animate (and they fixed the broken animation and twig-limbed character models too).

Well, you could say they at least tried to give the Higurashi anime its own style and horrific effects, while the Umineko anime seemed like they actively tried to suck out the intensity from every important scene. I'd love so much to see that anime remade, even if Chiru is pretty much impossible to adapt. =[

I don't know. As long as it's meaningful and well managed, a little drama doesn't hurt in small doses (like with Yukina and Towako). I wouldn't call the existence of a triangle a cliché in itself, it can be a cliché or not depending on how it's used. And here it's definitely used in an unusual way. I would have been more irritated if, say, the brief misunderstanding at the end of chap 26 had turned into an arc instead of being solved instantly.

And really… if you're introducing a polyamorous character, it's kinda hard not to have a triangle involved.
