Also the end notes confirming only 14 total chapters is quite bittersweet. But with only 5 chapters so far there's already been wonderful story and progress, so I am remaining quite optimistic that even if it seems short, the story will have a satisfying ending (weather it ends up being bittersweet, too, we'll have to see ;-; ). Tbh I always love a well crafted short series where the creator know when they want it end and sticks the landing, and given this is a favorite of mine already, I hope this is one too!

Oh wait, until I came to the comments I actually thought this was a one-shot in an anthology collection. I didn't expect it to be a the start of a series! I don't know where it's going to go from here but it is interesting. Hoping for an exploration of unrequited love coming from two ends; I'm with everyone else in camp "please don't actually get with the dad"

Unrelated note -- I've now translated everything on Amazaki-sensei's Pixiv that hadn't been translated! To celebrate I put together these based on things I noticed while reading/translating so much of her work:

It's been a fun couple months. My final tally is 16 comics/chapters by Amazaki Suika translated since the end of November, plus a few images!

I'm going to take a little break from Amazaki Suika for now (other than continuing to work with Oddity Translations on her current series), but at some point will work through her dozen or so remaining Twitter-only comics -- there are some good ones! ♡

Both funeral AND wedding allusions with the white flowers??? auuuuugh this story is just piling on the heartbreak. Also the two page spread of Iro in the field is stunning, followed closely by Aino laying in them motionless. And the cute dream outfits... really this chapter was just killing it on the visuals

I'm pretty sure Aino is fully intent on answering that question, what with holding a white flower out to her and declaring that she wouldn't let their experience in the flower dimension just be a dream.

Same, was definitely seeing the flower offering as a continuation of the wedding-esque visuals from 139, both of them also making vows to make each other happy in some way... seems pretty gay

When filling out the 2024 Yuri elections, I was trying to think of my all-time favorites, and my mind came to this one. I think this was the very first yuri series I really fell in love with. I was a teen when I found it, but it was probably the first time I'd read anything with adult women, living life, loving and supporting each other (though looking now and knowing they're only 24...... OTL ) To re-read this now, I'm happy to see it's still as sweet as I remember, and thank you so much to the other commenters that helped me finally read the ending ;-;

La Fin de Girlhood has to be my favorite chapter now; I'd always wondered the reason Shinobu cut her hair, but the way she explained it was so real and makes her current style all the more meaningful.

The final page of the series is so simple and it took me a second to appreciate it, but the final lines are them finally saying how much they love each other. Every other chapter ends with affirmations of their love, but they were always internal. So the fact they were both able to actually say, out loud, they want to spend the rest of their lives together I just ;-; I'm so happy for them. But the way the speech bubbles were overlapped, it looked like another thought bubble at first glance and I totally missed the meaning.

oh wow it's been years since I've been into Sunshine, but this one brought me right back into the characters. It's a slow, kind of subtle story that brings in all the girls really well, and a great You POV. Very sweet, could have been an episode tbh. Thank you so much for translating!

I did like the ending tbh, I don't know how else it could've and I'm glad they get to live a life together. My only confusion is Nekomori. Without Lily, there's no reason for her to stay with the family, and no doubt she's been distraught for the whole month. I guess the bookshop owner, her uncle, knows because of Hana. Between that and the note, she'll probably learn too eventually. But to leave her out of the resolution is just pretty sad. I don't like when important side characters are shafted for the ending, but overall I did like this story a lot up to the end ^^

I've had my suspicions that Sumiko-sensei might be American, and this puts a lot of credibility to that lol (if there's any interviews about it, I don't know but I'd be interested to read) I mean, what western teen show DOESN'T have a prom arc; I can imagine her lamenting the idea that she couldn't write one for her characters, then going "Wait, this is my story! Of course they can!!"

Back in Chapter 6 when Chibi escaped in the old apartment. They pass a building and Rena says it's where she buried Chibis sibling, so I guess she wasn't the only abandoned kitten, just the one who survived. She was pretty sure Chibi wasn't gonna make it at first probably cus of that. But you never see the other kitten on screen

I think it would be pretty absurd to end on a tragedy in a manga with as cutesy and soft of a title as "My Cute Little Kitten". So I'm guessing it's all psychological and temporary they just need to finally properly talk
