oh fuck lets go, I didnt expect for Nami to be given the spotlight.

It makes me think of what we'll learn about her in the process. Given that she's getting the spotlight for the "how do I get over someone" quest.

spent the entire chapter thinking "and this is Nagi on subtext" lmao.

It's funny because I don't disagree with the subtext still. Maybe yuri crush at this point. Because the more we see of Nagi the more extremely down bad she's getting XD

augh, Nozaki. what a terrible time to be her. The story does a good job of framing her actions as tragic more than anything. She's so desperate to get to be with Kaizuka again that she ends up retracing the very steps she broke a friendship off for.

the very steps that Kaizuka in denying gained her respect and then love over. so now our teacher cones back into play. How to get over a ex(love interest) that won't go anywhere. Kaede might find this one difficult, her great crush ultimately ended up dating her in the end.

loved the chapter, love the series, I hope yall continue in spite of the haters.

ough yeah, like not fun to see Mizuki being effectively degendered through the nonbinary tag when she is by all accounts just a trans woman whose story is very strongly about how she made herself sick with the thought of being outed as trans which then happened to her...

Very random thought; but Mai's Mom dead, she tastes strangely good, and she can't be hypnotized by Devil powers ... could her Mom be an Angel? Possibly future arc where she returns from Heaven to scold her daughter for dating a half-succubus/devil? Feels like the sorta symmetry you see in this type of story, but on the other hand, also feels a bit far-fetched ...

I also had the thought that Mai might be an angel, and that it might be a bit far fetched. So maybe if there's a few of us thinking something along those lines it might not actually be that crazy lol

yeah like the moment Mai says "I barely remember her" in combination with having weird immunity to charm presents a possibility. Though it could still just be Mai sad backstory + lesbian resolve not to be weird about your girlfriends mom.

ough.... About halfway through the chapter I was really thinking we'd have them drift apart for a while and miss the confession again!!!!!

But we're here now, finally. finally. Now time for a divorce? maybe? hopefully.

so used to thinking about "our love is disgusting" that I was really confused for a second. The downsides of getting multiple scanlations from the same mangaka lmao.

Lily Mama is interesting. She's a devil through and through, had a daughter with a human man as part of a contract with him. A contract we know now dooms him to hell for all eternity.

With Lily telling us that most devils just see humans as food it looks like she is just married to and had a daughter with a human man for the purpose of the contract and securing a food source. Which like, isn't "evil" perse, just part of how devils work and their inhuman morality. Of course we could still eventually come to find that she's actually got that human love in her somewhere but honestly I'd love to see Lily's mom as just genuinely inhuman and looking out for her daughter (and her daughters future contracts) in her own devilish way.

All in all, while Lily isn't quite ready to form a contract with Mai for reasons obvious to humans, her mom is deadset on making sure her first contract is high quality, and Mai? I can't say she's not.

Haneul looks so scared when Yujin shows up. And following the credits page explanation it also looks like she's telling Yujin to let go of her in korean. Which Natsuki does not speak...

Like one on hand yeah, Natsuki should have stepped in here and actively stopped Yujin from taking Haneul away. On the other, Haneul doesn't actually ask her for help and all the words that would make it obvious she's being taken against her will are in Korean...

this really is the kind of situation where Natsuki doesn't do anything because she doesn't know if she should but will absolutely regret later.

I mean, that face and the fact that she was yelling at the woman should probably have made it clear that she was not in a good situation. Tone and expression tend to surpass the language barrier.

sure but I am trying to figure out why the story is the way it is. And I figure that because Natsuki does not get hard confirmation on what she's supposed to do. She freezes in this high stress situation and will regret doing so later.

She's getting what will in retrospect be the most obvious cry for help she could have gotten. but in the moment she doesn't know what to do.

the humble colleague who says "I hear she's into women" "maybe you should try and get her attention" working harder than everyone else in this office.

It's kind of really funny for Jing Xiu to go "oh by the way i'm literally the reason you're in this situation apologies but also let me explain"

oh boy so this the moment Takahiko will show his true colors and try to stop Ayano from leaving the birdcage.

though that does turn things around because with the revelation that Tsubaki is free to go, the bird and cage have decidedly swapped places with Ayano becoming most desperate for the way out.

also I really like Beniko, it's really nice to see a woman who has clawed her way out into the open air to find and support other women who want to do the same.

what a terrible place for the manga to end lmao. just directly in the middle of the drama

Well... at least we do have an original version to check out.

Wait, this is the end? Haha, goddamn, that's a weird place to break end the adaptation, even if it is just an ad for the show.

Would anyone who's familiar with it be willing to post a spoilered summary of what happens afterward for the curious? Or point me to where I could read one. I'm unlikely to watch the actual show, but I'd like to know how this crazy stuff resolves.

I don't know if you've read the chapter but the credits page makes it clear the manga is on indefinite hiatus which means it is functionally speaking the end of the adaptation.

The rollercoaster of emotions that went through me before I even opened the chapter up, just seeing it had arrived. And then the chapter... I'm gonna kill someone! XD

we're never getting the confession from Takara, she is willfully incapable of taking the signals Ema sends out and decoding them as the romantic confessions they are. Because she's at this point just fully a coward. She's straight up going to need be pulled into the middle of a confrontation before she'll allow herself to be honest.

So let's hope Hario is here to tell her to stop seducing his wife and start that fight lmao.

(also to clarify I don't dislike Takara, I'm not here to be negative on her merely to state that she truly does just take every exit she can get so the only way she's ever getting with Ema at this point is if she's just kind of not given another choice)

in retrospect it is kind of funny that when Xiaoyang first appeared a lot of discussion was had on her being potentially transmasc when even back then and now explicitly it was kind of obvious that the family who would throw their daughter away to have a son is wildly more suited for a transfem narrative than anything else.

all that to say, I sure hope Xiaoyang can actually get the support she needs because being the "son" of the family weighs on her like nothing else.

I like that this is not from the perspective of the traveller. Yuzuki has no idea how much she means to Terada Hinata, and neither do we. But we also immediately get one flash forward to Yuzuki's breaking point that arrived over failing to uphold a promise with Hinata. So we do get at least an inkling of what these two would come to mean to one another given time.

hell yeah, I love that Ren goes from "wait am I gay?" to hooking up with a woman at the lesbian bar within seemingly 2 hours of time.

as already mentioned by cogito it also looks like this series is setting up some delightfully messy relations between the two main characters and as of yet unnacounted for hanger-ons.

this might honestly be a good time to reread the series. its so much more full of intrigue than i expected at first and while i greatly enjoy it i can barely hold on to whats going on right now.

oodoro dorothy i was unfamiliar with your game.

Devilishly Sweet but be careful when she's sour.

It must be bewildering for the Mai; she thinks she's an average girl then here comes the hottest, fashion focused popular girl falling madly in love with her and getting jealous that she'd spend time with someone else. Plus this girl is a succubus, so she's literally going against her biology for her love of Mai.

Remember she is only half succubus, and does not actually need to snack on life force she just likes the taste. which is also why Lily promising to be exclusive to Mai is both a strong indicator of how serious about their relationship but also only possible because she doesn't actually need to rush Mai into sex for her own survival as she can do fine without human lifeforce.
