I almost feel like the author is just stretching this out to make Riri's eventual inevitable heartbreak be even more painful for the audience.

At this point, the heartbreak won't be painful for the audience anymore, since we got beaten over the head with the inevitable outcome. It just got stretched out too much, to the point that there just isn't any tension left, it's just fllopping around.

There are some very rare occasions where they do.

I’m honestly confused? Does kurumi know ruriko is in love with her or just think she loves her? And the same to ruriko? Wait does kurumi know she’s maybe in love with ruriko?

Uhhh... she spelled it out when talking with Da-san. She very clearly differentiated how she felt about hugging a friend from Ruriko and said outright that yes, she does love her, when asked. If this manages to get turned into "but do I LOVE love her?" I will heckle and throw things.

Honestly, I can't even be mad at it for the "overpriced clothes good" attitude, since we don't actually know how durable the stuff they sell is. If it's not generic MIC garbo with a fancy label and actually can last a while, then high priced clothes CAN be alright. Aside from that, it's a functional slice of life manga about retail that's hard-carried by good art.

No real reason she wouldn't call an aunt by her name if she got used to it.

For that matter, is there any reason why all the assumptions are that she is the uncle's ex instead of current wife/lover? IIRC, there was no mention of the uncle's status so far.

I'm guessing she would refer to her as ''Oba-san'' if she were her aunt (she always calls her uncle ''Oji-san''). We'll know soon enough I guess!

That's a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer being called by name rather than their place in the family hierarchy.
