I'm really glad they pointed out how cruel Masumi is being--thanks to her inability to face her emotions, she's basically using Satoko's desperation and heartbreak for sex without accepting the responsibility of committing... and Satoko really, really drops the ball here. It's like the author is giving in-universe consequences for what we previously thought was just hentai plot contrivance: this weird relationship based on Satoko pushing Masumi's boundaries to get sex and Masumi not taking a stand one way or another has realistic results. And the whole part about the "even though you were saying no" seems like a critique of the hentai trope of the character saying "no" just for the aesthetic and removal of responsibility for engaging in sex.

...y'all, could this story be evolving into something much greater? It looks like it's switching from (really well done) trope-y porn, to a critique of those tropes and what they actually mean in the real world. This is getting so interesting.
Sorry but what? How the fuck is Masumi being cruel? She was just raped. Shes been sleeping with Satoko, HER NIECE, because it's what Satoko wanted, which is already comically unrealistic. In fact when masumi first conceded to Satokos proposition I thought it was dumb as hell but brushed it off as bad hentai plot. Satoko has never respected her boundaries once so far even after Masumi has already given her what she wanted.

Masumis inner conflict about the situation is hers to deal with alone, nothing justifies Satoko constantly being unable to take no for an answer and forcing herself on Masumi.

It's very very common in all hentai to fetishize violating women's boundaries when they say no so this is largely glossed over. Like you said, I'm glad that at least in this chapter, it seemed to actually highlight that rape isnt fun or sexy, it's actually very damaging and traumatic. In no way in hell is Masumi being cruel nor is she to blame for anything that Satoko does to her. Also the balloon boob hentai coloured opening pages with the dramatic quotes really make it hard to take it as seriously as the author wants me to.

The relationship between Youko and Yorino is cute but it was very rushed and didnt feel earnt. Maybe it's just that I'm used to yuri romance moving at a slower pace. I think Kitamura is great and I hope she gets at least part of what she wants. Honestly though i thought this was her Kaijuu because of its haircut. I'm very glad it wasnt but if she dies later, I wouldnt be surprised at all, only very disappointed.

I guess, I can't really imagine she's that far removed from any of the other main girls age-wise. I also think its a bit early to be judging her character given we've barely learned anything about her yet, other than the fact that she's a werewolf and that she's quite fond of Shannon.

Yeah I agree dont get me wrong. In her introduction panels, the guy next to the guy harassing her is like "are you a pedo or what?" So we can assume that she at least appears young enough for someone to call a sexual pursuer a pedophile. Later however, maria refers to her as a woman and Kiki herself says that she isnt much younger than Shannon.

Still, it was revealed that both Maria and Dorothy are both only 17. This in itself irks me because they both look and behave like adults. Theres no reason for them to classified as teenagers other than the author just wanted to appeal to pedophiles (which is a massive fucking problem in all of manga/anime.) With all of that being said, that could easily mean that Kiki is deadass like 15 which feels incredibly wrong and uncomfortable in a rather explicit ecchi. If shannon is equipped to lust for someone as lewd as Dorothy (who we're all just pretending isnt actually 17 at this point, she could easily be like 25 and not look or behave any differently) then it's a startling and concerning contrast to lusting after someone who both looks, acts and behaves as a younger teenager/preteen. Unless shes later revealed to just be a short and cheerful woman, it feels like a very jarring and morally dubious inclusion to the story.

The promo on Mitogawas twitter for this chapter had me damn shitting myself. It was just a cap of the page depicting Dorothy leaning over a seriously injured Maria while holding the holy dagger behind her back. The text was completely removed from the page. I couldnt be more relieved that the actual result was the opposite of what I feared.

Maria X Shannon has that homoromantic shounen rivalry vibe going on like the kind of shit you see with Naruto and Sasuke or Gon and Killua lol. It has it's own charm to it but it's not for everyone. Personally I think it's cute because I like that the both of them pride themselves on being strong and independent yet the both of them ended up risking their lives for each other completely on a whim. I also love that they're both very tsundere with each other so as to maintain their tough girl demeanor.

And yeah Maria x Dorothy is obviously endgame but Dorothy really needs to open up to Maria more instead of keeping her at a distance so she can use her as a tool.
