This chapter seemed like a bit of a jump, I hope nothing bad happened on the editorial/serialization side. On the other hand, seems like we're about to get a title drop in the next chapter after that "wear the world" and "break through to the other side [of the ceiling]"

Was there any hint of men being able to manipulate the special matter? If only women can do it, then forcing a specialization of labor makes some ruthless sense: letting a woman pilot instead of being piloted and making nets looks inefficient. (But grounding the MC because her nets are "weird" is also inefficient.)

We'll have to wait and see if men can or not, I don't recall there being anything to the contrary, so I have a feeling this is just a gender-roles type thing. This story looks like it has some interesting social commentary.

I had a feeling this was just going to be about archaic gender-roles in a far-future, which when factoring in small, clan-like stations would make some sense as rules are reinforced in an almost literal echo chamber, even if a space faring, skill-and-not-strength based society shouldn't work like that. But now with the last two chapters this is more a story about battling sexist perceptions and stereotypes. It's weird to see a future that has regressed with regards to that, but then it's easy to just look at what's happening across the world today and see it's not impossible to happen.

Welp, that oyakodon bit got me thinking if the ending will actually be some sort of quad. I get the main pairings are Minori and Koko along with Mama and Yu, but I don't doubt the author has it in her to try.

Doubtful. Before I got to the part of breaking the sphere I was already thinking back to how the Divination Orb or whatever it was called conjured not just an image of Kaye, but many images of Kaye in a way that a simple machine shouldn't have been able to. Even then I was curious how that happened, and when I was remembering that I was thinking she must have some sort of magic that just is rare or never been studied before because the right way to tap into it hadn't been found. Now, with this reveal, my suspicions are confirmed that Ada does have magic, just none that the academics know about. It can't be nullification magic since the Orb worked how it did.

At first, I've been with Karretch's causal loop/bootstrap paradox idea (after all, if time travel is still in its infancy, how come there's already a guide? Golly, I wonder who wrote it...) but now it seems like that couldn't possibly work out.

Eh, I still believe it. Grammy could possibly legit not tell it's Kaede and it's a fakeout by the author. However, she outright says "hold more secrets as you get older" as a subtle way of sending the message she understands something is going on and it's doubtful she wouldn't recognize her own granddaughter even grown up, looking like her mother and father mixed up and all that. As for young Kaede, they interacted for all of I'd guess at most half an hour. That's plenty of time (or lack thereof haha) for a 5-7 year old to forget a person without any lasting memories. Kaede seems that much of an airhead to me as a teen that it's easy to fathom as a child.

The worst part (logically) about all the bigotry is that they forced their daughter to play a man and then said "man" brought home a woman, as per the disguise. Wouldn't it be weirder for the Crown "Prince" to go out to find a man to marry?!

So I guess right, Yvonne only recovered her memories of her previous life, knowing that this was the game world since enrolling at the magic school. And like the motif of reincarnating into a female villain in Chinese novels, she started to stay away from the female protagonist (Elsa), until the system appeared forcing her to bully Elsa.
As for Yvonne not remembering a few days into the future, that's normal, children forget quickly (at that time she hadn't recovered her memories so she was just a 7 year old girl). Besides, when she came to the future, she was only playing around in an adult's body with a woman whose face couldn't be seen clearly, so if she remembered it, she would only think she was dreaming at that time.

I'm a bit confused. By "a few days" do you mean after going back? Or the time spent displaced? If latter, it was 2 months, as per future lady's own words. 2 months is a lot of time to ingrain memories. If former, then I guess it's possible, but also kids that age tend to be beyond the easily-forget stage, into the proper developmental part of making memories and learning habits.

I had a feeling at the end of Ch 1, and now I'm confident this is a causal loop.
