This is really so realistic that if I were in the same situation as her I think I would have done the same thing... because you can't just understand what to feel a part of you misses her, a part of you is scared of her, a part of you is angry at her, but if the person that you fell in love with is in your reach I think I would come back again and again... i'm so unstableeeeee

It's jover

Minami went for a kiss twice in 24 hours, said "I want you" and Yuzu still thinks it's "impossible". You really have to do some insane olympic level mental gymnastics to come to that conclusion.

The characters don't act like real people.

Someone bought me a plane ticket to visit them and a ticket to an aquarium, one of my favorite things, and then after laying in bed next to them after sex I was like "gee I wish she liked me the way I liked her"

Do not underestimate the power of a useless lesbian with MAJOR self esteem issues. People do act like this. A LOT of people act like this. And I think that it's actually kinda realistic. Is it maybe exaggerated for drama? Uh, yes. It's a drama manga that needs to fill a runtime.

... I'm a bit confused why people are freaking out. She's been in love for a while and rejecting her feelings because she felt she has already been rejected. So it's only natural that once things are changing, she doesn't just accept it outright as the most natural development, she's confused and worried.

Yeah I'll be real, I really have no clue why people are going as apeshit about this as they are lol. Y'all are tripping over each other to scream about how now the manga is bad and how it's all joever. Why are y'all reading this in the first place?

hol up I want the full story lol

That some 4d chess right there

They can't possibly drag out the misunderstanding any longer... right?

ayo

There's at least half a dozen dead bodies in her house, some of them fresh. If she invites guests over without cleaning up, she's going to need those mind control spells. I am willing to guess there are serious limits to magic and good reasons why her mentor/parent discouraged her from leaving.

I am a sucker for the "young naive idiot goes out to meet the world for the first time despite a disturbing background" trope.

After thinking about it, the climax makes sense, but the villain himself isn't very interesting.

Who did Lapis originally want to kill, anyways? Like do you really need a full blown genocide instead of a handful of pokey pokies?

Just read the story, and comments... lots of comments about (maybe) suicide, and the mom's girls' school, but none about Miu apparently moving in with Fujiwara while in high school?

I like to imagine the mother's eyes lit up with dollar signs upon seeing the size of sportsball senpai's mansion

she be in the lab inventing female-female impregnation as fast as I can to babytrap this rich sucker with her daughter

I know Jiang is supposed to be this flawlessly competent person, but how do you end up in a director position when you're this bad at reading the room and can't even empathize with people at a cognitive level.

I hope she gets an arc that explores her past and explains why her entire childhood seems to be memory-holed cuz barely having any memory of your friends or what your school life was like is not normal and makes me think she had some traumatic stuff happening in the background. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and her being clueless is just a funny and interesting way to create conflict.

I don't have any particular sharp traumas but I don't remember my school years either. The whole time was mildly unpleasant but unremarkable.

I'm not sure where this is going in all honesty, especially since they're both "not gay" as they said earlier.

I mean, "not gay" in this genre is like ultimate flag

What I was trying to point out is that there is an understanding between Marika and Aya about Marika "Selling herself" to Aya and a contract being drawn up between the two that they both agree to, it doesn't justify that Aya went over the line but it is one of many factors that make the "infamous" scene not cut and dry.

Yeah, I'd call it a poorly negotiated CNC situation. No safe word and no explicit refusal of safe word. Closer to RACK than SSC, but not very Risk Aware. Aya had one expectation ("I can do whatever I want for the duration") and Marika was just winging it and responding to things, can't even call it a clear expectation.

Could have ended very badly, but they got lucky.

These acronyms - am I having gay sex or being deployed to Iraq?

One thing that's interesting is our cool general Tauntaun who is very clearly and openly a hot, long-haired woman, and also a general with a literal post at the front, not just some, say, a weird ceremonial thing.

If this is at least somewhat realistic ancient china, like PLG up there says, how is she a general? This implies men take orders from her. Men have a hard time obeying women nowadays. Military is like THE powerbase and monopoly of violence instrument that men like to keep theirs, even over a rulership position if you note the occasional ruling female queens and other such in medieval europe.
If this is not a realistic china, and instead some slightly more equal fantasy version, and (even if she's really exceptional) people accept an openly female general, how is it a problem if the emperor is not a man? We've at least had like two or something ruling female chinese emperors in real life. Of course it's not impossible the standards might be different, but it feels annoyingly discordant.

I wouldn't be surprised if the author doesn't think about this at all and Lan being a general has no relevance to any sexism or filial piety questions

It's completely unrealistic and honestly might undermine the themes of the work, but she's hot

This would probably seem like a pretty good chapter if I could remember who all the characters were. As it stands, all I could really tell was, she wasn't talking about music.

Don't know if it's considered spoilers but about whether it's toxic or not It isn't. There'll be some hiccups in the first few dozen chapters but they don't abuse or bring out the worst in each other. Even Miyagi can be sweet at times despite being a tsun...tsuntsuntsuntsuntsundere. It's all consensual stuff that both know Sendai can easily walk away from if she doesn't want to go along with it.

I have a different opinion.

Miyagi can be abusive, like when she takes out her frustration on Sendai by dumping her drink and food on Sendai. She feels guilty about it and avoids Sendai afterwards, but that's the best example of the toxic undercurrent in their relationship. That's their lowest point and when Sendai comes back she demands serious changes in their relationship, but it's quite touch and go.

I would agree that their relationship is more positive than not, but there's serious caveats. It's mostly consensual but the boundaries are questionable. Sendai has the option to leave completely at any time, and Miyagi can simply not invite Sendai back, but being the angsty teenagers they are, it's a long and bumpy road for them to establish their boundaries beyond a toxic binary of "accept everything or throw away everything."

I do agree Miyagi can be sweet and actually becomes quite considerate. And as cursed as their relationship is, Sendai's relationship to family and friends is so distant that her relationship with Miyagi is genuinely healthier and more communicative than the false fronts she puts up elsewhere.

Yesssss, "we'll figure out the heir thing later" is the right answer when there's magic! (Can't believe no one's done that already. I know lesbians aren't the majority of the population but we're not THAT rare...)

And then, at the end, a witch outfit. Could it be the crossdressing prince as we predicted ages ago?

Imma be real that's a very wooly answer I would not accept irl, but I'm happy to believe in it in the context of this story. Magic yuri babies, please.

A relationship built entirely upon malding and being lonely? More common than you think. Or maybe just as common. Depends on how pessimistic you are.
