It's not a 1 to 1 thing but that doujin exists. Utena is a most of the girls have their roles switched-ish but Utena is still Utena even as a magical girl. And it has multiple chapters and with more comming.

It's still up in the air for me who will confess, but I'm actually leaning toward Miyagi with the way things are going now. Or we might see a kind of scene where Miyagi confronts Sendai with the question, straight up asking "Do you want us to be lovers?" and then Sendai will have to answer honestly. I could definitely see a scene where Miyagi asks this, and Sendai returns the question with a "What do you want, Miyagi?" and that causing a big fight.

While I agree that a confession from Miyagi is far more likely. Her asking to be lovers while giving that necklace this early(???) on is simply too hard to imagine. She's still at the stage where she doesn't fully understand and has yet to process that she likes Sendai in that way.

I'm a bit surprised that they're showing us how this all started this early. I can't tell if speeding things up is a good thing or not but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

You know, this makes me wonder if what she wrote in the raws is closer to「皆と仲良くなりたい」(which better translates to "I want to get along with everyone") instead of 「皆と友達になりたい」(more specific way to say "I want to be friends with everyone"). If what she wrote in her questionare is the first one then this whole thing makes so much more sense.

If they have a talk and start formally dating (or at least kissing and holding hands without it being a major event), about what chapter does that happen? How much longer do I need to hold out? Please help, they're killing me

I've read up to the paywall on Story Seedling's uploads and they're currently in a 'Roommates that Fuck' situation. They're essentially in a LTR and act like a married couple but because Miyagi cannot be normal about boundaries or intimacy ever it's moving at a snail's pace, although she has at least finally admitted they're more than roommates (not dating though! hahahahaahhh I hate it here). Sendai has worked out her own feelings and knows what she wants but she's terrified of communicating that directly because she knows it's going to freak out Miyagi and cause her to run away. So we're essentially just waiting around for Miyagi to get over herself and realize the obsession is mutual while Sendai tries to cope and find compromises.

I'm genuinely amazed the author has managed to drag it out this long. I did not think a Twilight-saga-length slow burn would be possible but here we are. They've fingerbanged at least 3-4 times and no one has said "I love you" yet lmao. The side characters are about to get a lot more involved though so I think that's going to help move things along.

Then you'll love the most recent developments over at Kakuyomu. Not a fan of Story Seedling's TLs so I read it directly from the source.
Miyagi might not have fully understood or acknowledged what her feelings are yet but I'd be damned if she ever goes back and says that she doesn't think Sendai ever feels lonely during those days. A whole lot of things happen starting from the end of the highschool ark all the way up to the present. Without giving out too much detail... let's just say their bodies are far more honest than their mouths are. Another thing to take note is that, between the two girls, Sendai is the one who is more aware of what exactly is going on between them.

I wouldn't be so optimistic as to think this manga will adapt the whole LN.

Case in point, Arioto adapted only volume 1 of the LN

A complete manga adaptation would be great (though unlikely) and it's fourth on my Shuukura wishlist after:

1. The author finishing the WN and not abandoning it.

2. A complete LN adaptation.

3. An anime adaptation (I can dream!)

I'm always worried about WNs being abandoned but hopefully that won't happen with it seemingly doing pretty well. I can't link sales numbers but have seen it place well in some Japanese polls.

Looking at Seiyuu Radio and the fact that Shuukura got a Drama CD after winning a contest, chances of this one getting an anime in a few years is not at all impossible. As long as this one gets more traction, we can still keep dreaming.

I saw someone compare Shuukura with Adashima in the manga thread and I can probably only agree with maybe half of it. They might both be slow burns and the both switch POVs but their styles and focus are completely different.

Adashima has two people who go about their daily lives while growing to like each other's company and eventually realizing that it's more than just that. A slow burn between awkward people who are learning more about themselves and deciding things based on their conclusions.

Shuukura on the otherhand might seem similar up front but it's more about two somewhat beoken people finding solace in each other. What started out as a simple act brought upon by chance turned into a messy knot. Both girls try and figure out what they want for themselves and from each other all the while testing their boundaries.

They're both frustrating to read but in completely different ways but it's one of the things I can't help but love about 'em.

(I didn't want to talk about this in the manga thread since it's touching spoiler territory. Ehe)

What's the story with novel rn? Is the translation up to date? Is it decent quality?

Last I checked, there are 2 groups translating it. One has better quality (up to ch 60 of the raws) and the other group that updates more regularly is at around 300+... You'd be better off reading the MTL straight from ggtl-ing the Kakuyomu page itself.

I have yet to see any chemistry between these two, but I suppose I'll give it a couple more chapters to see if I want to continue reading or not.

They briefly touched parts of their agreement in this first chapter but said agreement definitely covers more than just keeping what happens in the room a secret between them only.

I don't think this counts as a spoiler and I won't go into the details but just in case... the very basis of their agreement involves consent and trade-offs. The moment Sendai thinks that Miyagi's order(s) crosses a line for her, Sendai has the power to walk out of the room and end whatever relationship they have at the moment. It's something that gets touched upon a good few times in the WN too.

I knew this one got a drama CD a while back but I didn't think it'd get a manga this soon. I've been following the WN for a while now (to the point that I even go read the raws every Friday) so I'm pretty excited to see how far this one is gonna go.

Fun fact: the people who voice the two main characters here also voiced Suletta and Miorine.

This author has drawn many series but still doesn't have an anime. I hope this manga will get an anime (the context of high school students is easier to get an anime than an adult context or office romance, right?).

Format-wise, I think it would work pretty well as a set of super-short minute-long episodes like I'm Kodama Kawashiri, especially if they kept the manga's color scheme and used highly stylized (maybe rotoscoped low framerate?) animation.

Yama no Susume exists. That one started out with those minute long episodes. It ended up getting more time every season until it managed to get its own full 20 minute 1 cour season.

If there are enough people who would buy the discs and the manga, there's a potential for a bigger audience.
The biggest barrier is still the music licensing. Japan's copyright system is such a complex beast that it'll definitely be hard to get all the right songs in the anime.

That would definitely be the case if she had a good standing in her home country. Sadly, they basically see her as more of an outcast/ unwanted noble simply because she has dark attribute magic. And the father-in-law over there knows that as a fact in addition to his country revering light magic so much.

Uhh, so I'm no expert on ABO stuff, but isn't marking in these stories usually something permanent? I recall it being super serious (more permanent than marriage), so Tang Chao suggesting it here in a casual way here is wild.

For this one specifically, there's an option for temporary marks. You can think of it as a bite that will fade/heal after a while vs. a bite that leaves a permanent scar.
Basically, bite hard enough to leave a mark but not hard enough to leave a scar and you get a temporary mark.

From what I've seen, "temporary marks" are somewhat common in the CN side of omegaverse stories.
