I took a look at the vol. 3 raws, and it seems to me that Shimamura and Adachi normally don't honorifics for each other. But the translation also seems to omit the occasional honorific that does appear in the raws.

Correct. The only character I can think off the top of my head who uses honorifics on regular is Yashiro.

I'll keep you all posted on the future of this project now that we enter the license era.

It wasn't because Shimamura is also a clothes store and Shima herself said it multiples times that everybody tell her thatso we assume that her name was from the store.

I was aware of that, but Hougetsu seems to be pretty rare as a given name, in fact, on Jisho, Meiji theater man Shimamura Hougetsu is the first result (and only full name result) when you search "Hougetsu". And with that feeling, I thought maybe the author was referencing something with the choice, though it could still be a coincidence.

I looked it up, and yeah, it seems to be a reference

Does Shimamura's little sister have a name, then?

No. According to the Japanese wiki, the only named characters who've appeared so far are those ones + plus Shimamura's mom.

The first chapter of the third volume will be here shortly, so here's a couple of words regarding it:

-PDF/EPUB version: https://mega.nz/#F!Y4U3RKDY!Degyv3ptBiPOtBlf4pWzbQ

-The chapter names this time are references to Final Fantasy: Unlimited. They are as follows:

Pick a Chocolate Fitting of Me = The soil charge triad to use on you has been decided!
Radiance That Reaches For the Sun: Heliotrope = The origin of all things, Mother Black!
Thorns That Weave the Past: Old Rose = A heat that will scorch all creation, Fire Red!
And Then, Love That Embraces the Holy Mother: Marigold = The critical point of everything, Burning Gold!
Sakura - When the Prayers Shine- = Kaze: The Glory of Life

So yeah. They switched the colors to flowers, and that show's MC's name to one of the character's name.

-Please, don't think too much about the line "A picture formed in my mind: Adachi, as my ****". It likely doesn't have the same implications as the Japanese line, which was incredibly difficult to decipher with a keyword blanked out.

-The next chapter is twice as long as this one, so it will take a bit longer.

-The images on pages 2 and 5 were spreads in the physical book. Rotating them messes with the composition (mainly placing Adachi above Shimamura even though it was meant to be the opposite), so be aware, I guess.

Strange Adachi? Geez, more like Horny Adachi.

Anyway, these two chapters mark the end of the second volume. I'm already working on the third one, and the first chapter of that will hopefully be out in a week or two. Releases will get a bit less frequent after that though since the second and especially the third chapters are super long.

As a side note, the school year in Japan is split into three trimesters, with the first one starting in April as mentioned in chapter 7. A lot of the stuff they talk about makes way more sense when you know that Read more, if you want: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_term#Japan

Oh, also, page 267 - there's something clearly wrong with this bit:

Each yawn caused me to shiver. bit slightly tired, I’d decided to give myself some time to properly wake up before the morning bath.

Oops, looks like I changed the wrong word. Should be "Feeling slightly tired---"

In Japanese, they are 安達クエスチョン (Adachi Kuesuchon/Adachi Question) and アダチズQ (Adachizu Q/Adachi's Q). The reason the latter is written like that (in kana instead of kanji like it was a loanword) is because it's a reference to the book Dead Man's Q. Oh, and Q stands for Questions, more accurately.

Just as a quick note, the manga skips this chapter of the novel, meaning that I won't be updating it till the next one.

Apparently, the pedophile dude is a crossover character from another LN by the author, Detective Hanasaki Tarou. Quote: "Women reach their peak at the age of 15, and it's all downhill from there". So yeah.

Volume 2 starts here.

Some stuff:
-Epub/pdf: https://mega.nz/#F!l98TRYaQ!8e-JL8PJx4cDwN1SCeJnuw
-Alternative link: https://sneikkimies.github.io/#adachi2
-The first chapter is the longest of this volume, meaning that the following ones should come out faster.
-The chapter titles are jojo references. According to the Japanese wiki: Shimamura at the gym > Rohan at the Louvre, Yashiro: the visitor > Baoh: the visitor, Adachi's Q > Dead Man's Q, Strange Adachi > Gorgeous Irene, Christmas ongoing; Shimamura's thoughts > Under execution under jailbreak, White album > white album. Some make more sense in Japanese, of course

The next chapter comes out 27th of June, not July like it says on the final page. Sorry about the mistake.

This marks the end of volume one. Thanks for all the feedback. As for volume two, I've already started working on it. It seems to be paced a little differently (8 chapters instead of 5), so the update schedule might end up slightly different. We'll see.

"nagafuji's tone sometimes doesn't match her words, which is odd considering the curve of her breasts"

Um

Ok

I think it's just something being lost in translation due to phrasing. The text version (that is also being uploaded here) says something more akin to "(describes Nagafuji's appearance, including that she has big boobs) Just like the size of her chest, Nagafuji seemed very mature. But sometimes the things she said... were not so much."

Unless I missed something, the joke there was just the contrast between the sharp disparity and smooth curve.

@shadesofgreymoon
Really appreciate it. If you see any further mistakes you want to point out, then please do and I'll fix them for when the next chapter is released. You can also email them to me at sneikkimies@gmail.com if you'd prefer that to commenting here.

@EvilDevil
Thank you as well.

I'm translating the novel as well. First chapter will be out by the end of this month.

If Al's a full blooded human because she was born from a magically pregnant human, then shouldn't Rem be a full blooded elf and not a half elf by the same logic?

It's pretty weird, huh? I thought they'd explain it away by the villagers just having made it up to discriminate on her, but then I remembered them saying that her ears were shorter. Perhaps her mothers asked the spring to "have children together"? But why is the princess not a half-elf then (or rather, doesn't look like one)? Who knows.

Here are the pdf and epub files:

The epub is still experimental, and I'd very much appreciate if you could point out any mistakes or errors you notice so that I can continue improving it. Same goes for the text itself too, of course. And yes, the first chapter should be updated too if possible.

If the translators are going to keep this project please consider releasing an epub version too, I wouldn't mind doing it myself is just that reading the whole thing in search for fuckups of the converter is really annoying especially for a work already done before.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently investigating ways to import as epub, and if everything goes as planned I'll have that version available alongside the pdf starting from next chapter.
