We’re going to go through all 5 of the suitors same way she did with Karin (get close to dating then something causes it not to happen), then her HS crush will show up, queue sixth attempt at being official, then they’ll all get together and/or pair off. Considering their situation, splitting them up was valid, reasonable even--forcibly marrying the older daughter off, obviously not. Crazy what giving these two the chance to talk out and process their feelings, especially to a professional, might've accomplished. Meguru, her obviously unsibling-like feelings and attachment for her older sister, and Hromi, her dangerous passivity in both letting her barely pubescent little sister have her way with her as well as just uncritically accepting whatever order her dad gives.
They could've lived seperately but still at least been allowed to see each other, just not letting them alone in the same (bed)room. Over time it might've given them both a chance to move on from each other, without the need for a traumatic band-aid rip-off. Buuut had that been the case, we likely wouldn't've been here and it would've been a shame not to get to enjoy this trainwreck triangle in Hijiki's brilliant artstyle.

Well that was certainly a drastic change. Always hurts a bit to see since I did the same once and have regretted it ever since (and I just find the trope kinda tired).
On another note: it's incredible how much unnecessary despair these girls manage to self-inflict. Like, the sheer turmoil the blonde girl (I straight up can't seem to find any names) seems to go through every single day is almost comical.

My only real issue with this arc is that it lacks some of the lewdness and insanity of the cops and robbers. Feels a bit too serious for the tone of this series, though not a bad arc on its own. Don't think it would've felt very long had it come out back to back

As a German, I've never felt so insulted in my life as while reading this chapter, and there's a lot I get to hear about my home country. Finally I understand why people waste time on stuff like "sensitivity reading" ...

The idea that a German baker would be impressed be the flavorless sawdust pressed into vague bread shapes over freshly baked(!) real bread defies any reasonable belief. It's like suggestion to an Italian that frozen pizza is just as good, or to a French that processed cheese is perfectly acceptable, or to an American that ... well, forget Americans, they are hopeless, but otherwise!

To be fair, Japanese convenience products have a reputation for being rather high quality compared to us. But even so, people have no idea just how serious Germans are about certain foods. Bread, mustard, pickles, etc. Especially anything that's machine-made, partially or not, suffers severe scrutiny here, which applies to most modern bakeries as well. So I've no doubt that a medieval baker in their prime would've been able to turn even the lousiest flour into the stuff of Gods.

Thought it was pretty clear upon reading it that Misa knows Io was assaulted against her will, but just doesn't know/manage any other way to deal with it. Doesn't really matter if she genuinely considers it "cheating," the situation made her angry, from feeling powerless in particular I surmise, and this was simply the way she ended up reacted to it. To take her anger out on Io in the only form she knows.

On a sidenote, as comandeering and abhorrently awful Misa's reaction was, it doesn't feel "forced" in the same way it did from Hasa. She bosses her around, humiliates her, but she doesn't physically force her. Io still complies.

Like someone mentioned, I can imagine we get to see Misa feeling bad about it all afterwards, but also Io probably not being as angry about her reaction as she ought to.

I get the tropes around it and all, but realistically, if you (a girl) want to keep your (presumably gay) girlfriend from being "snagged away," would an all-girls school really be the best choice?
