“Girls meet on a dating app: one of them is looking for a one night stand and the other wants her to be a magical girl with her” is an 11/10 premise, I wish this got some more time to cook with a little more personality from the characters. Still a great goof though.

…Oh, it’s over huh. I feel like this could’ve had an extra chapter or two to really sell the finale but all of it in one chapter feels really rushed and unsatisfying.

The pathos just ain’t there, is it? The emotions feel all wrong in this last chapter. Like, it doesn’t really sell the characters personalities at all. If you’ve read any generic yuri manga/wlw fanfic you’ve seen this confession before. Eeeeehhh? It’s not great.

Them having yet another misunderstanding at the very end feels like a joke, like the author is making fun of them, and I want to laugh but it’s just kinda irritating.

As someone who was super pumped to follow this story because Childhood Friend romance is the most exquisite flavor of romance… yeah this really fumbled. A whole bunch of Kanbayashi Makoto’s YouChika works just got translated, go read that if you want better Childhood Friend yuri. Or any of the dozens of MioxRitsu doujins.

It feels harsh for a series I was liking so much but yeah I think I gotta say 4/10.

I love YukaReimu. I llike how Reimu’s always so straightforward with Marisa, Sanae, and everyone else, but whenever she needs someone to pat her head and tell her she’s doing a good job she gets all tsundere around Yukari.

For as much drama that’s in this comic, I really appreciate that Tong Tong’s little project here is just allowed to… work. She’s not overbearing, she’s not overly self conscious, Luxi isn’t uncomfortable, they just get to be sweet and kinky and they’re both into it. I can think of 50 different ways how the author could twist this to make it go wrong but instead it’s just cute. Honestly refreshing.

You know? I really like the “drunk” tag on this one. I feel like this is the most realistic depiction of drinking I’ve ever seen in a doujin. They aren’t passing out after one sip, there’s no exaggerated hangovers, and they remain mostly functional. They’re just a little more willing to say and do silly things.

Okay she just sent a link for a dog ear headband and a tail, so something tells me Xiao Lu is going to like that gift quite a bit. It’s not like they’re ordering a full fursuit, her mom will just be (unknowingly) assisting her in her puppygirl fixation.

For being a YouChika fan for this long, it feels really good to see this finish line. Knowing that this will be here just fills me with comfort. We did it girls. We won.

I’m always gonna be a lesbian Nami truther, but idk something about Nami/Robin never felt right to me. I just can’t picture Nami having feelings for any of the Straw Hats except Vivi.

I still take what I can get because One Piece yuri is pretty sublime nonetheless. The flower-flower fruit does lend itself quite nicely to yuri fanart.

I said it in another comment section but all this ChikaYou genuinely feels like a reward for good deeds in a past life. I live for this drama, this angst. I love childhood friend pairings so much, and Kanbayashi is one of the best to ever do it.

I'm not sure why everyone is saying Yuni should have therapy now. Not saying she doesn't need it, but this is the first chapter since the beginning in which she seems to be pretty honest with herself, and with Fuuko. It looks like she is starting to sort out her feelings, which is a good thing. Of course she is going to be even more a of mess while doing it, she has so much to unravel.

That’s true, she is reaching the point where she’s realized “literally nothing I do makes me happy” which yeah, good first step. And while I’m not a psychologist, I feel like what she really needs is a good support system and people (multiple) who will support her no matter what, and… I don’t think any of these girls are there yet. Fuuko could be, I think the ship has sailed for Nanase. And while Fuuko is finally realizing what she really wants, rather than just telling Yuni what she wants to hear, Yuni so clearly finding her wants off putting while still calling out to her at the end of the chapter makes me really excited to see what happens next.

We already know these girls have issues, and I know this isn’t the most thoughtful or original observation, but wow Yuni needs therapy yesterday.

These two really became one of my favorite couples. I’m so down to explore both of their POV, and you can so clearly see what’s going on in their head just from their actions and expressions.
