I think 61 in the 5 volumes that are out now, but there's a few more that came out in the magazine this year.

I'm sorry if I'm asking something dumb, but when something like this happens and they can't find for sometime a new place to publish the authors are allowed to, if they want, publish a continuation in their own site (charging or for free)? (sorry if I misspelled or made some mistakes)

based on the gap between chapter 1 and 2 I'll guess 2019 the 3rd'll be released here LOL

I thought there will be more closure in regards to their relationship post time skip. Either SU wanted to keep us on suspense or they're just lazy.
And I just found out that SU is a straight, married woman too. No wonder she's really bad at handling the characters.

Not all yuri artists have to be lesbians or bisexuals, tho a lot are, well some of the best.

Sexual orientation has nothing to do with the someone's writing ability. Of course in some case we can see some patterns, like when straight guys write Yuri, but that's not a general rule, anyway...

Proofs :

• the author never talked about the ending and the final in the chapter's promotion. Kodama did (NTR's author).
• no "to be continued", but no "fin" either
• the anime is airing, its purpose is to increase the manga's sells, the manga needs to continue during the anime
• a final chapter is always announced in the previous issue of YH with the word "climax": クライマツクス, it was the case for NTR, and other series which ended last year when they were listed on the preview page
• a final chapter is always listed as a climax in the issue where it is published on the final cover of the magazine. Citrus is listed on the ongoing series.
• the author promised happy ending in the last 4 volumes in the afterwords
• Yuri Hime policy: the most popular series and a series that help to sell the magazine would end so badly without any notice? -Volume 9 promotion incoming with a bonus card showing the OTP in a wedding dress ... to buy a volume ending the manga on the exact opposite note?
• another chapter was announced for March but has been put on hiatus since the volume 9 is released. Yuri Hime made an announcement, only to precise that the chapter was on break for Yuri hime n°5 (in March), not forever.

And more narrative reasons :
- We didn't see one of the MC. A series ending without seeing Mei...
- We didn't have any dialogues and speeches from the cast except Yuzu and Ume ... Will a manga end obliterating all their characters?
- too many loose ends. the father? the grandfather?

I think the lack of to be continued is a stylistic editorial choice. It's Mei's letter, hence Mei's words who is the narrator. On the graphics level, a to be continued would have ruined the impact of the "goodbye", visually but also on the meaning in Mei's mind. This goodbye is final for her.

I feel like saburouta could end Citrus with 10 volumes (40 chapters) if she wanted to rush things, but since this series is very popular and is getting her lots of bank it’s possible for saburouta to make Citrus 12 volumes long. 12 volumes would be great as long as she doesn’t squeeze in anymore melodrama and just focuses on fleshing out Yuzu and Mei’s relationship.

We all know Citrus is going to have a happy ending. It’s all up to saburouta to make the happy ending a good one.

I think there's a 50/50 chance that this is the case. Citrus is making Saburouta mad money, so she's obviously going to continue it. But at the same time, it's been going on for 5 years. I have to wonder if she's starting to get tired of the series, hence the time skip, and wants to speed things up a little. (Also, even if she does continue it, who's to say she won't put in more drama again just so she can keep making more bank?)

Ending it at Vol. 12 would be great, though. That's, what, 12 more chapters? That should be enough to wrap up everything else in a neat little package and with a good happy ending. That's much better than just rushing it in 4 chapters and ending the series at 10 vols. with an over-the-top cliche happy ending like some people are speculating.

I was just looking around on twitter to see more people crying about chapter 36 and some people was saying that will be a total of 50 chapter, someone even posted some print https://twitter.com/Clairthompsn/status/964878467576844290, not that this kind of source is reliable but I really hope so

Seems to be still ingrained in most mangakás and the real/major audience (Japanese people) the idea of Yuri as a fuc***g big bad drama with cliché happy end, I don't total dislike, actually I think that drama is important to to every story, but good drama, not this thing with fiancés, and outing (oh, I'm a girl I can't date girls) and things like this. Of course I'll continuing reading, but I'm kind of tired because most of the authors continue to write in this way.

Also I know I can most of the time look into a work and use a logical view, such as know that in the end things will end up well, which is better than the previous trending with tragedy ending, but it's hard to maintain this thought with the middle fuc**ng up everything like 'my feels' with so much angst, LOL.

And because this, now I'm more into Manhwa, that we have much less material, but in comparison have much more mature stories (at least I feel that), which have drama, a lot tbh, but I feel that is less (not without any) cliché drama.

(sorry for bad English, I'm a non native speaker writing in a mix of rage, sadness and crying)
