This was originally a light novel, right? Is it worth a read or should I just read the manga as it's translated? Hell, is the LN even translated?

Originally it was a WN published in Syosetsu, but it got popular enough to get noticed and published by GL Bunko and became a LN, which then is adapted to a manga right now.

Only the WN is translated right now and is continuing on with its sequel story. My overall opinion is quite positive, but the series has some pacing and poor characterization issues.

The meta commentary of YU-RI-OH is what makes this so hilarious.

Took me a couple of weeks to finish this chapter, but it was amazing to read. All the introspection and melancholy Shimamura goes through is wonderful. Her anxieties with Gon's old age perfectly captures the author's talent to in writing great coming of age stories.

So the father's dead in the serialization. Remembered liking this back forever ago, still digging the useless adult and responsible high schooler age Gap.

Maekawa is emitting so much alpha pheromones this chapter.

Definitely one of strongest yuri series after Bloom into You, even moreso than the more recent debuts that came out recently. Something about having actual real problems detached from actual romance that drives characters to overcome these obstacles help ground the story for me.

They cut out the aftermath when Adachi leaves. We don't see Shimamura's thoughts or when she gets head-butted by her little sister.

Reminds me of another series by Neji called Bocchi Kaibutsu.
