Well... this is a sad sight if I ever saw one.

I mean you're not wrong, but even with waxing, bleeding happens very rarely at least in my experience. The manga isn't even about waxing, but plucking. She should not be bleeding unless her gf is like really going to town down there.

Aspire to get a gf that trusts you enough to let you pluck her pubes until she bleeds just because you're bored.

Hmmm... I'm sure it varies hugely from person to person, but there are patches with thin skin that for me usually come up with a couple of blood spots (just a pinpoint, not like, bleeding bleeding). I'm pretty sure it's referring to this kind of thing as, just because of the nature of plucking, it's not like you'd suddenly start spontaneously bleeding after having a huge quantity of hairs plucked, since it doesn't cause any trauma to the skin, but the more you do it, the more likely you'd get one or two little spots. I mean, you can pluck literally every pubic hair and immediately afterwards the skin wouldn't really even feel sore.

Ch11, page 4, has a typo in the last speech bubble.

"Though, you've usually gotta rush if you want to get one."

The initial comma is unnecessary, but the bigger problem is that "you've" should just be "you".

No it shouldn't.
'you have usually got to rush if you want to get one.' is correct.

Damn she let her pluck her pubes until she bled? What the heck

I didn't think I would be explaining this on Dynasty when I woke up this morning... When you're plucking or waxing thick hairs like pubic and armpit hair, sometimes the a thin layer of the dermis called the root sheath (which is around where the hair root forms) comes out with the follicle. It's tiny and doesn't hurt when it happens (it's actually a good thing), but sometimes you get a pinprick-size spot of blood.

Oh, awesome! Our relationship with Knight Heron is a little bit complicated, but I'll go ahead and add that link to the series description for the time being. Thanks!

I don't have a problem with stopping if there is a new translation available that can go here. I was just talking about switching to doing this as a collaboration anyway as I don't have time to edit it anymore so it had been on the backburner.

The series kind of went in a different way to what I was expecting from the first few chapters so I wasn't so motivated to keep doing it as a solo project. Plus, now we get to learn more about bread.

Huhh... That was a surprisingly insightful credits page.
People from Ishikawa don't mess around if they are having 3 cm thick bread slices.

Damn, I am a big Haikyo fan and was looking forward to Haikyo content but this is pretty much just sex. At least I can contribute something-
Finger condoms are kind of a thing, they aren't really for stopping STD transmission unless you have open cuts on your fingers - you should just wash your hands before sex if they're dirty. You have no mucosal membranes on your hands so you can basically stick them in anything and wash them and you'll be okay - this is why you can only contract COVID-19 and other viruses by contact contamination if you touch your own face before washing/sterilising them. Finger condoms and gloves are usually used by people who have long-ish nails or french nails, or you can get ones with different textures and stuff.

This might be just a myth, but I've heard there is a 'New York lesbian' thing around some Korean chicken shop that gives their customers finger condoms-like things for free so they can eat chicken with their hands without getting them dirty and it is popular with lesbians who ask for extras.

I love Murasakino's drawing style so much, it feels so nuanced and expressive.

The location of Chapter 13 is the same as episode 6 of the Amanchu! as well as episode 6 of Amanchu Advance!, Ito Marine Town (34.985, 139.095).
The statue at the end of the wharf is called 'The Lovers'.

So, does this require not lizard?

I had this discussion with DrPepperFan. Apparently it’s not quite ‘not lizard’ enough and would be pretty contentious.

It’s kinda depressing to read this trapped at home alone but I swear everything about this manga is such a mood I’m getting way too into it.

Meirei Hiranishi is the first yuri artist I've seen to really focus on queer aesthetics and how important it is some people's relationships and identity. I think it's much more than a 'butch-femme' spectrum but it's really interesting to see her experiences!
That said, part of me suspects this is all just a elaborate ploy so she can find another butch yuri otaku who reads her manga ;)

Two women together will never be heteronormative lol.

I don't think this is necessarily true. I agree that queer people are generally people who have made their own decisions about gender and sexuality and come up with their own answer which is different to societal norms, but not necessarily totally independant of societal norms. I think lots of outwardly butch/stud/andro/masc/whatever-presenting women get frustrated with partners who expect them to do stereotypically 'male' things, even just tiny things like mowing the lawn and feel their identity is misunderstood.
I'm not saying it's right or okay, but I don't think anyone's worldview can be totally free of the influence of societal norms and expectations (whether they're aware of it or not) and it's a very positive thing to draw attention to stuff like this in storytelling.

The thing that really jumped out to me in this story is that it reminds me of sooooooo many stories about self-realisation of being gay, particularly from older generations people who didn't grow up with much awareness and exposure to queer culture - by being in love with somebody but only realising they felt that way when that way when they were confused as to why they felt so broken when they left or got together with someone else.

Kaoru/Nii-san is lovely but ever since I realised he has the same VA as Sephiroth (in the drama CD) I can't help but find him a bit creepy.

But reading someone else's diary is a capital, unforgivable crime.

The downfall of many a Nii-san.

This is so cute and relatable! I think it's pretty rare and generous for mangaka to share stories about their own lives. Her manga are always so full of a sense of joy and now we can see where that comes from. It must a lot of courage (and also self-restraint) to write a manga about this.

I usually imagine (based on stereotypes and their afterwords) manga artists to be very reserved, but then I saw that story of a group of popular yuri mangaka going to a strip club together and it was totally different and hilarious.

30 MINUTES discussion 25 Dec 08:52

I'm a bit confused. What were they talkong about in the beginning? Did the (sorry if there was a name) non-hat girl come off a break up? Is that why they're out so late? Why 30 mins, because the clock at the beginning showed 23:45? Sorry if it's obvious to everyone else. The ending was pretty cute and I hope they have a good relationship

Something important to this story is that there is pretty much no public transport between 12 and 5 in most Japanese cities (plus nobody drives around large cities and taxis are pricey AF so only for rich or desperate people) either you plan your night to get on the last train at midnight or you stay with someone or go to a club or something.

Considering that, when ‘non-hat girl’ is talking about someone she dated who always said she should leave in time to catch the last train, that is a subtle way of signalling they didn’t want to have sex, so she felt they were not serious or leading her on for nothing (alternatively it could possibly also mean they would have sex but then they would tell her to go home rather than stay over, making it more of a fling than a serious relationship).

‘Non-hat girl’ asking if they should rest is effectively saying she'd be happy to stay together not go home and ‘hat girl’ stalling for time in reply and deliberately making her miss the last train is them communicating they both want to stay the night together.

Does anyone know how many chapters are in volume 1?

I lost my copy of volume 1, and can't find anyone willing to ship to the US (My Japanese is not good enough). I have the other four volumes in my bookshelf waiting for me to read the volume that I lost. ^^;

You can look at what the first chapter in volume 2 is and safely assume that the chapters up to that are probably in volume 1... no?
