Yeah, that about sum up my reaction too.

Shimamura seems less like she’s clueless/doesn’t reciprocate and more like she’s scared/in denial IMO

She's had some bad crap go down with friends or classmates in the past I think. That's why we've gotten little snippets of commentary that seem to point to that, why she's forced herself to pretty much avoid socializing with anyone to the point where she was skipping classes. So she's gotta work through cracking open that personal shell before she can work on opening that closet door.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. I can't wait for the flashback chapter. Maybe I should finally take duolingo seriously and I wouldn't have to wait.

That page does seem to imply that our Marika actually was the one from the yuri world, who somehow crossed over to the "normal" world when she was a kid, exchanging places with the Marika from there, who was stuck in the yuri world until she figured out how to finally get back.

I don't know what it is about stories with alternate universes, but it always manages to pique my interest. I wonder how far the author will go to make the this interesting. It's definitely charmed me.

Yeah, me as well. The manga cuts a lot out of the story, at least much of the inner monologuing going on. Though it's nice to read both as they get translated.

I'm liking the art style of this. It's a new artist, but it seems a little familiar. And looking through the raws, I can tell I'm gonna enjoy this ride.
