Where are manga and anime most popular outside of Japan? I tried searching on Google and it seems like they are popular in France.

I'm researching anyway to see if I can find more information (especially more recent as the main article I have found so far is from 2001), but it's a little limiting when there are articles or other relevant sources online that probably exist but aren't in English.

(I'm really just curious.)

Note: I only say "a little limiting" because I haven't read everything I can on the subject yet that is in English.

I don't know if there's any other general music threads so I'll just post this here. I've been listening to Adrian von Ziegler a lot. He's a composer although I don't think he does anything outside of his YouTube channel.

The main shows I've been watching this season are Kobayashi-san, Little Witch Academia (TV), Gabriel DropOut, Demi-chan, and Blue Exorcist (Kyoto Saga). By "main shows" I mean the ones that I watch as soon as I can. Kobayashi-san and Little Witch Academia (TV) are definitely my favorites.

Samurai Jack is back!!! My childhood is back!!!

I watched the trailer so many times. Judging from the YouTube comments, the music in the trailer is from Carpenter Brut. I think his music really fits the tone of this final limited series. Though it could be that his music will only be in the trailer and not in the actual series. That makes me wonder if James L. Venable will be back as the composer. Either way my expectations are high.

This is beautiful. I really love the expressions.

So she was just transferred out? That's it? That's a bit anticlimactic (though the lead up to it wasn't very exciting so maybe that's not the best word that I could use). Honestly though, I'll still read the next scanlated chapter (assuming there will be one) simply because it feels too early for me to know where this story is really going. Right now though, I don't think it has a lot of potential.

I really loved both of these stories. It would be awesome if we could have more oneshots like these (or series for that matter).

I really like the way "Koro" responds to Yuriko's questions. They are really simple answers . . . they might not work in real life (though who knows really) but in the context of this story, they certainly make the whole thing well worth reading (for me, at least).

This one always makes me laugh. Also, a bonus for the fact that right after reading this the first time, it almost feels like you were slapped in the face because you don't even know what just happened.

This really was adorable...although in the second to the last panel, did she just kill the other club members!? But yeah, I loved this one-shot.

I still need to watch the third season. I really love their chemistry.

It's weird because out of all the bullying that took place in this story, the thing that bothered me the most (well, aside from the fake love letter which pissed me off more) was the homophobic person at the love hotel. Maybe it's because they went to a place where they could leave the stupid people and things behind yet with the escape or freedom that they sought and found, they also found the shackles of society which they had likely never faced in the same way.

By the end though, they each grow as individuals because of these things. At the part of the love hotel, I'm reminded of the quote from the yamanba who said that ". . . we're hated. Even though this is our garden."

I'm really glad that the main character had someone to pour her heart out to. Even if in retrospection our own problems seem less significant, it doesn't change how we feel in the present. And prior to that moment, she was the very definition of keeping your feelings bottled up inside until they explode.

Page 57: "While writing this series . . . I pretty much lived in Shibuya's Maruyama neighborhood. I carried my little daughter with me. I took pictures of the hotel area for reference" (emphasis left out).

I think we seldom take the time to really appreciate the effort that creators like this go to. It's like going the extra mile. Not everyone who reads it is going to notice the amount of detail in something like a landscape. It's like CGI in movies. If it's done poorly, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Whereas if it's done well, it often goes unnoticed. It's working hard on something that might not even be noticeable, something that only works subtly toward what people see in the finished production.

kind of wondering how she made the jump from "sister cute" to "love and it doesn't matter why" ....not saying the last one is impossible, kind of experienced it myself but it was a pretty big gap to cover :P I guess that's what you get for it being a one shot though

So uh... The continuation... Its old, not translated, but I saw it...

Lots of men, public humiliation, rape, semen spraying all over both girls girls, and mindbreak. It seems like this chapter was just a sweet appetizer to completely destroy the 2 characters in the continuation, to make the rape much more "delicious"... I don't even wanna keep this on my lists anymore.

I remember reading this and wanting to find a sequel of some kind, then being really grateful for your warning. Thank you.

I would be happier if Shiori just focused on living the way she wants to, eventually becoming famous globally and forgetting about that stupid teacher. In comparison, it would show that other teacher as a frog staring at the sky within the well, thinking it was the queen when it was below even the dirt.

That was really depressing. It could have been far worse of course but that doesn't make it less sad than it was (not that it's bad or anything because of that, I'm just saying). To me, it still only seems like we are in the introduction part of the story but seeing as how there is only one volume and the series is complete, I really won't get my hopes up.

This series feels really rushed to me. Even after observing part of the main character's backstory, she still feels like she lacks character development. This is just my observation though and I'm sure other people will disagree. I do like this story though despite my complaints. Maybe it's the artwork, maybe it's a guilty pleasure read, I'm not completely sure (maybe I'll re-read it in the future and see it in a better or worse light). Whatever the case, I find myself wanting to read the next chapter.
