So cruel.

Lol yup - dont read that one! Is that a troll or did any yuri fan actually like it?

Lol, it's tagged as both 'Bad End' and 'Het.' I think I'll skip this one.

(both Morinaga milk tho not on girlfriends level)

I actually read both of these and liked them both, though I preferred The Secret Recipe. The Princess Mirror seemed to be a poor man's Kase-san.

Thanks for the recs! Gonna add these to my 'To Read' list.

I've tried to read 'Wife and Wife' but I can't get past the 'bronx' accent. I read Renai Manga but I felt a bit cheated by the ending. Can you even call that Yuri? Even though Prism technically was cancelled, it felt much more complete than Renai Manga.

i've read Girlfriends, Octave, Husky and Medley, Notes from the Garden of Lilies, Hanjuku Joshi. What should I read next that is already completed?

Well one difference is that kyung-woo is actively playing up his image. He wants people to think that he's a smooth ladies man. The rumors just feed his ego. Seol-a on the other hand obviously does not want to be gossiped about.

So for this reason I doubt he's an awkward kind of guy. He is a first year student trying to make himself the 'big man on campus' by catching the biggest fish in the pond, which is Seol-a.

Incidentally, I don't think Seol-a was in danger of being taken advantaged of.

I agree with reasons 1-3, but that's because Seol-a wouldn't let herself be taken advantage of, not because Kyung-woo wouldn't try anything. As for point 4, I agree and disagree with this.I don't think he'd rape and assault her, but I do think he'd persuade her enough so that she, in her drunken state, would finally agree -- i.e. taken advantage of. So not rape in the conventional sense, although by American standards, this would still qualify as rape.

Furthermore, I do think she was in danger of being taken advantage of, solely because of what they said.

If you're a real man, don't resort to shameful tactics. -No-rae

..I've been found out. -Kyung-woo

So he really was planning on getting her drunk in order to persuade her to sleep with him. [And, I mean, there are subtle clues that were suggested. No-rae said that he didn't look drunk at all, and Kyung-woo responded by saying that he couldn't handle alcohol well. Really? Really player?]

And what's worse, he's not even reflecting on being such an ass!hat, but rather, he's upset because it's "fucking embarrassing." So he's not reflecting on it being wrong, he's reflecting on getting caught. I honestly think he's a much more dangerous person than his appearance suggests. Seriously, I just want to pull a No-rae and hit him with a bat.

What I mean to say is that, even in her drunk state, I don't think that he would've been able to con her into sleeping with him, and the only way that it would happen is by force. And I don't think that even he would resort to that. Because if he was willing to go that far, he probably would've hung up on No-rae and made up some lie to Seol-a. But instead when he figured out that No-rae caught on to his game, he gave up immediately.

Incidentally, I don't think Seol-a was in danger of being taken advantaged of. My reasons:
1) She still was coherent enough to avoid using No-rae's name or gender when she made the comparison about Kyung-woo's eyes.
2) She had enough wits about her to use her phone to call No-rae
3) She didn't fall asleep until she was 100% safe with No-rae. I have the feeling that she wouldn't have been comfortable enough to do so with Kyung-woo.
4) Kyung-woo does seems like a cad, but doesn't seem sinister enough to actually rape a woman if she did fall asleep.

and oh yes, lest I forget, thanks Halmoni for the translation!

Now, I wish I could avoid any negativity, but I need to get this off my chest: all this complaining about No-rae overhearing some gossip about Seol-a and it amounted to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! This chapter would have been 99% the exact same if that scene was removed. All it did was give No-rae a bit of guilt about her reaction to it.

I disagree with you on this. No-rae was outright ignoring Seol-a up until this point. If she hadn't overheard that piece of gossip, she would not have attempted to check up on Seol-a, likely wouldn't have answered Seol-a's call and consequently wouldn't have gone to rescue her from potential disaster.

Valid point. No-rae overhearing the rumor was definitely a bit cliche. But in the end all that happened was that No-Rae sent a "be careful" message and then a drunk Seol-a called her up to say "what's up? I'm drunk." Then No-Rae responded with a "all right, stay where you are, I'll pick you up." What's the big deal? Is that so unbelievable? This is completely fine by my book and not a valid reason to trash the story.

You don't need to log in to view the comic in comico

NoRaeMi:

Anyone know what the hearts mean on the comico website? Is it just 'likes?' Why does FF have more than twice as many hearts as the second place comic? I'm very curious about that.

anonymous:

Yes.

The tooltip on the heart button says: 좋아요.
(See here http://comico.toast.com/titles/85/chapters/29 at the bottom of the chapter for an example.)

좋아요 means "I like it" or "I love it".
(halmoni can confirm or correct if she wants.)

As an addendum to this,
note that as of now, approximately 1 hour after this chapter (30) was posted,
there are about 470 hearts ("likes") and about 280 comments.

And remember that the chapter was posted at frickin' 6 a.m. over there.

I remember looking at those numbers a couple of weeks ago and getting just a bit annoyed that chapter 28 was still under 4000 hearts. "What?? But it's so good!" But now it's over 5000 so all is good :).

Lovely chapter!

This chapter would have been 99% the exact same if that scene was removed. All it did was give No-rae a bit of guilt about her reaction to it. So next time something like this comes up, don't jump to conclusions and start bashing before you even see the end result. It's really annoying to read and quite frankly made my reading of this chapter just a teensy weensy bit less enjoyable than if I didn't have to hear all that ridiculous negativity.

Now, to end on a more positive note, I think we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Whether it's next chapter or 10 chapters from now, the love confession is surely closing in. And it will be glorious!

But when you complain over and over and over again don't get salty if people point out the glaring holes in your logic.

For some people, the more they love something the more easy it is to find flaws ( real or perceived ) wish wasn't there. Ask a person about his partner's negative points he/she wished was fixed, prepare for a damn long list of every minor detail. That's because if the small things would be fixed... the subject would be perfect in their eyes, literally 12 out of 10.

As for unpopular critism, well maybe you would avoid conflicts and not go to that fansite or whatever. Maybe you avoid conflict and that's fine but I think going into the opponent camp and being on the opposite side is great for debating. There's going to be a lot of dissenting opinions and this will just reinforce or change one's perception at the end.

Being a contrarian is a great mental exercise in itself.

There's nothing cartoonish about it. Cartoonish would be if the ex suddenly sprouted an enourmously tall bump on his head where No-Rae hit him with the bat. Once again you are using words you don't fully grasp the meaning of. This story does contain cartoonish parts, such as when the characters become super-deformed to accentuate a humorous situation. However, just because ssamba has chosen not to dwell on all the legal aspects of the attack on seol-a does not make the episode in question cartoonish. She is telling a romance not crime fiction.
