"but, you know, since she's sleeping around with some random girls instead, it's all good."
Nice double standards. If you think faceless generic female is good, then by the same logic a faceless generic male is also good, unless of course you have some weird bias going on, like the "females are more pure" bullshit...

"I think what you meant was that you feel insulted by this."
Uh no, you're wrong. I mean exactly what I said, that this work is disrespectful to the series and character in question.

Faceless generic non-character garbage (and by this I mean they have 0 worth artistically as far as a derivative work is concerned) shouldn't be accepted here. This comic being here just shows how inconsistent Dynasty is when it comes to the quality of works.

Disgusting. Not only does this insult You's character by portraying her as a cheap person who sleeps with some random girls, it also insults Love Live as a series by using a non-existent characters in a supposedly derivative work.
If this had a random boy instead, you'd all be screaming that it was "hetshit" and whatnot...

Just a question but what is it with manga like these and the need to add 'just kidding' to the end of a sweet quote? I've seen it in several of the manga I've read here today and in the past and I'm wondering why they add it.

Seems like shorthand to me. Basically they're taking the idea that she can't keep her feelings in check and says something that reveals her true intention, but she realizes that it's something normally frowned upon and is putting the other person majorly on the spot. So she plays it off as a joke in order to make an opportunity for both of them to save face and maybe preserve their friendship. then boiling that all down to basically one sentence.

I think stuff like that hurts a story, but the audience is so familiar with it by now that they just blink and accept it. To me it's much the same as stereotypes being used in place of character development like tsundere, for instance. It's storytelling shorthand when decompression would be more satisfying.

You're reading way too much into it. Honoka says "Sorena! / それな!" which is kinda of a joke expression itself before saying "Just kidding" which is pretty natural and doesn't imply any deep feelings at all and there is nothing else in the story that implies Honoka feeling bad about what she did.

Ah screw it, I can dig genderbend if it's done well, and in this case I think it's done well. The characters are defined by their personalities, not their genders after all.

And male Kyouko is freaking hot. swoon

No, is defined by specially by the gender and personalities is in second base
I don't like this genderbend because is het and some dumb way to create a trap character to self insert
I am sure of this.

If you weren't so ignorant and actually knew anything about this artist, you wouldn't be saying that. If the artist intended a self-insert character here, it would be Sayaka and not m!Kyouko. Stop projecting yourself onto the artist and other readers please.

Seeing dynasty crying over genderbent yuri (yes, it's still very yuri since the original characters are girls) made getting this worthwhile. I hope she really ends up writing m!Homu x Madoka one day.
