In the first case I'd just stay as friends, maybe she ends up being into you but don't count on it (I know a lot of straight girls that enjoy yuri, and high school rumours are just high school rumours) - pursue other girls if they catch your eye. In the second case, well, does she have Facebook? Just add her on that and throw her an fb chat message like "Hey, are you free on {insert day / time}? If you are, do you wanna go to {place} with me?" or something. And clarify it's as a date.

Minako maybe, but I don't think there's much more than meets the eye with Fuuri. It seems to me like she was in the delinquent 'gang', but was pretending to be Minako's friend to get more information about her to pass on to her friends so that they had more ammo to harass her and bully her with. Making out with Minako by playing on the fact she had a crush on Fuuri was probably just a bonus.

And when Kuroko said 'Because I can't believe you'd let your precious Minako-chan die somewhere without you', I thought she was being sarcastic with the 'precious' and Fuuri just wanted to be there to watch Minako die (like in her imagination of them standing over her with bats while she begs for Fuuri's help). Oh, and when she says 'So you'll let me go now?' to Kuroko, implying that she only killed those 2 so Kuroko would let her leave and not kill her, not to try and help Minako or anything.

As an easier general rule of thumb, if there's scissoring and they're enjoying it, it was written by a dude.

Scissoring where the two partners are practically on their backs with their legs stretched out and entangled at odd angles is designed for a voyeur rather than personal pleasure, yes.

I don't really think there was any of that in this work though. Closest would be p73 in Chapter 5, but they were grinding on a toy held between them rather than each other. And even if there wasn't anything there, the way the position looks on p74 (one partner 'on top' during the act and holding the other one to grind on) absolutely works for many people.

The other two instances of tribbing (Ch1 p90-p91 & Ch7 p14) are also both real and very much possible to get a lot of pleasure from with the right partner.

The whole 'lesbians only scissor in porn / real lesbians don't scissor' thing is a myth. Unless we're talking exclusively about the specific voyeur-focused position I mentioned at the start, in which case it's more truthful. The problem arises when people try and literally deny the possibility of any enjoyment from any 'scissoring-style' position just because they either saw someone say it doesn't work or because they didn't like it personally. Hella lame.

I think it's because it's not actually a series as such. It was released as a collection of stories set featuring characters from the same club, rather than a proper series. They're all gathered together under the http://dynasty-scans.com/anthologies/iromeki_girls page.

And honestly, I really don't care about what actual japanese people think counts as yuri.

Exactly. does it actually matter to us in the slightest what Japanese manga fans are labeling "yuri" vs "lesbian" or whatever? We already have our definition pretty much set in the West (yuri = lesbian), we don't have to change it to fit what the Japanese are calling it nowadays.

The only 'violence' in this entire work was a page which had blood on the walls and a bloodied knife on the floor, and someone tied up in a cupboard. If that's enough to make you flip out like this then I don't know what to think...A random generic shounen action manga has 100x more violence than this in a single chapter.

Hm, on the topic of safe sex between girls, this is something I've been thinking about for a while. In real life, the only time any girl has ever brought up safety has been regarding condoms on toys being used by multiple people without washing inbetween. I've genuinely neither met nor slept with a single girl that's ever used (or asked to use) dental dams, gloves, or cots.

And yet, it seems every other girl I speak to online is insistent that these should be used like all the time.

Which leads me to consider a couple different conclusions. Either online lesbian/bi/etc forums just have a large oversampling of girls that are very very pro-safe sex, or I've just so happened to never meet one IRL despite there being so many around, or people like to pretend to be super safe and responsible online but actually don't care when it comes down to it IRL.

I think Out of the Blue (or whatever it's actual name is) was only 3 chapters for the main thing, but there's still an 'extra' that hasn't been done yet.
