I personally don't think that's what is going on. Some women, like myself, just feel more natural in men's clothing than women's.

Hence the term "Tomboy".

Ren isn't just a tomboy though. Most of the character's agony comes from not wanting to be placed into neither the category of man or woman, which even at this point in the story, strongly points towards them being non-binary transmasc, even if it's not something directly stated by them or the work itself.
It's not just a matter of clothing and wanting to be seen as more masculine, but still comfortable as a woman. Again, I think those two pages are quite clear about that.

And yes, while some of their experiences is also something cis people can and do experience, it's hitting them a lot harder, just like how it would hit a trans person.

There's a scene where they're shown wearing a binder, and Matsuri accidentally says something inappropriate, making them run away, and later while in the shower, start punching their chest.
and well, if anybody after that insists they're not trans based solely on the character's aversion to giving themself a label, they're either ignorant on how it is being trans or transphobic. There's been a considerable amount of trans people, both transfem and transmasc, in the thread pointing out the trans tone to it, so I wish that wasn't just brushed aside or like we're doing the same as fictional characters by wondering if a character is trans.

Being a woman is different from being a manga heroine.

The people arguing that the protagonist of this manga is not a (trans) girl have resorted to arguing that no manga character is a woman. Truly this thread has produced heretofore unseen wonders.

That's not my point. I'm saying that wanting to be recognized as a woman, biologically, psychologically and socially is different from wanting to be a idealized fictional figure.

Considering the main character is either a cis dude or a trans woman who hasn't realized it yet(too soon to tell), I don't see how futanari would even come into this picture.

It's not that japanese people don't get transness. It's that cis people often write stories approximating transness and do not fully deliver on these themes, and my post earlier was reflecting that as well as being very tired from seeing so many similar stories from all over the world.
