When the anthology puts so much emphasis on there being girl x girl relationships and literally has yuri in its title, it’s only natural people would assume it be yuri-only. And I would like to ask the question, have yuri-only anthologies/mangas ever straight out said “this is yuri-only”??

Even with so much emphasis on yuri relationships and yuri in the title, I didn't once assume it to be yuri-only. It doesn't seem natural to do so at all as far as I'm concerned. To answer your question, I don't really know if anything is ever identified in that way, but I would hope that they wouldn't go the exclusionary route. I'd hope that most publishers of works by the LGBTQ+ community wouldn't use that sort of terminology even if the stories contained within were literally only yuri and nothing else. We want a community of inclusion, right? Besides, what benefit would people have knowing that there's only yuri and nothing else in it?

Actually, it was promoted as a yuri-only anthology...the anthology LITERALLY has yuri in the name and the description says, “An anthology featuring a variety of stories with girl x girl relationships, with a focus on Heroine x Villainess!”

I feel the need to point out that yuri-centered is not the same as yuri-only. This is a very important distinction that needs to be made. The description above says nothing about it being yuri-only. All of the anger I've seen in this thread centered on this particular point seems like people making assumptions.

Why do you care so much about this? It's in the past, gone, done with etc. None of us have time machines or ways to go back in time and change what has already happened. What we can do is try to make tomorrow better and live a happy today.

I care because I hear every single day how my fellow Americans attempt to distort and deny history and have actually gone completely insane because of it. We have millions of cultists in this country hanging on every word of their god-emperor and there's not a goddamn thing those of us who aren't insane can do about it. And these are the people threatening us daily with another civil war which would spell their complete annihilation. So excuse me if I can't just go, "oh well," and get on with my day.

And that's really the nail in the coffin for the US. Russia declaring war on Japan wouldn't have been satisfactory to the elites in power because they believed it would make them look weak. It would, however, have been satisfactory to the rest of the world who rightly didn't give a fuck whether the Americans were the ones who saved the day. It was a bad decision to drop the bombs, just like it was a bad decision to not declare war on Germany immediately after it invaded Poland. Nothing can ever change my mind on these issues, and nothing can ever erase the stain of blood caused by the country I live in and tolerate daily.

I feel like there was a good idea here, but the story was simply too short to execute it. Most likely can't be helped if the author was given a page limit for the omnibus though.

I'm willing to bet this is exactly what happened with these. Especially considering we got a similar reaction with another not-so-fleshed-out annulment story a few days ago.

"My precious one" seems pretty darn gay to me. Maybe it's just me. I've never called by best friend "my precious one" ever.

I guess the yuri tag can be difficult to use when combined with certain tags, but for example, I really doubt someone here would classify a porn movie into the lesbian genre just because it includes a FF scene, specially if it evolves into a FFM scene. It would be classified into its respective genre so the consumer knows what to expect.

Except tags are not genres. Tags are there to give you a heads up to the content of the specific work. If there's a relationship even hinted at between women, it can be tagged with yuri. People might want to take a look at the tags for this work as of right now. I think it's a bit more than when people first started ranting.

It bothers me to have come to read yuri and that it is not, it is disappointing.The prince is cute and everything but I feel that he is in the way, besides that the villain and the protagonist seem friends more than lovers...Sometimes you come to a story to read a romance of two girls or sometimes you go to a story to read romance between a boy and a girl, and it's annoying when it's not what they give you

And other countries don't do similar things? Don't fool yourself. Other countries have exploited people, engaged in wars of aggression, deliberately spread illnesses... No person, city, country or whatever is or ever will be perfect.

This was entirely unnecessary and missing my entire point, much like Kirin pointed out. I've lived in the United States for over 38 years and seen first-hand exactly how much of a garbage pile it is. Your whataboutism can't elevate it to the status that media and apologists want it to have, nor can it evaporate the gigantic sea of blood that has been spilled to get it to this point. You're absolutely correct: no place or person will ever be perfect, but ignoring atrocities to build cities is part of the problem our planet is currently facing right now.
