Really? the second line was the part that damned it for me. It should be noted though that I'm not exactly a great commentator on what makes romantic; LED kimi wo mita is in my opinion the greatest romantic line in song ever, my opinion is usually wrong.

I think they complete each other, on their own they wouldn't work as well
I just imagined both characters sitting on a cliff facing the sunset, the girl asking: ''what do you like about me?'', the boy saying: ''Everything'' the girl then turning to the boy puzzled what that means and the boy while looking at the girl clarifying: ''There is nothing that I dislike about you''

Sure, maybe it sounds even more lame to you but I legitimately imagined it as an really cute scene

Edit: also, I had in mind that maybe the girl was kind of feeling down in an: ''What do you EVEN like about me?'', so maybe there is that, it's all about timing I guess

If MD Geist was a legitimate suggestion I will throw Macross Plus out there

It's more of an political driven story, that is to say it shows both democracy vs dictatorship and shows the good and the bad of both of them, if you are watching it for military warfare you may be disappointed because it shows it's at it's most brutal which is just ships going pew pew and other ships just exploding without any great last stands or anything like that, a million isn't just a statistic.

Also prepare for A LOOOOOOOOOOOT of characters, heck you won't even remember 1/4 probably by names if you don't take notes and most of them are fleshed out

Legend of Galactic Heroes isn't a series that gets great immideatly, which isn't to say that the first 20 episodes are bad, (Yeah, stupid acting generals that make the dumbest decisions and just loathworthy royalties, I know, but they just get those out of the way to prepare for the really intelligent people. minus the religious nuts) they just prepare you for the overall pacing of the series, which is just a series that takes it's time, it has 110 episodes for a reason and it may not be early one but at one episode the switch will flip.

If you can spare the time, Legend of Galactic Heroes.
Episodes 3-110 and just watch the movie that replaces the first 2 episodes, I have yet to see someone that didn't love it

Final Fight 1 may be a classic but sure is really boring, 2 is just a rehash of 1, 3 is where it's at as long as you bother to look up the move sets, don't worry they are really simple.
Just remember, if the enemies are directly avoiding your grabs just mash the attack buttons, if they gang up on you use your special move, it drains just a teeny little bit of health so it's more worth it than just letting yourself get hit.

Also, when you play as Dean you can reset the game and play as Guy or Hagger instead.

Retro Recommendation: Final Fight 3

Beat it on expert today, Qualitywise the Story is somewhere between Schindlers List and The Room but those delicious Hagger Piledrivers and Guy Dashing Combos man, also the soundtrack has some great tracks. Beat em ups really should have been more like Final Fight 3
