It occurs to me that the things opponents have been saying are pretty similar (from what I've heard) to what was being said when the supreme court struck down bans on interracial marriages decades ago. The only difference was that then a majority still opposed interracial marriage while now a majority already supports same sex marriage.

Oh, and it seems calls for a constitutional amendment were already ongoing at the time I made that (half) joking statement yesterday. Scott Walker calls for Constitutional amendment to let states define marriage Disclaimer, Scott Walker's views do not necessarily repr... Oh fuck that. Scott Walker is a bigoted... Ahem... I must politely point out that Mr. Walker's opinions are misguided and do not reflect the views of a majority of the people of the US (and certainly not mine).

I take objection to that. I know lots about some other countries. I mean isn't there some other country on this continent someplace? Maybe it was down south somewhere. And I heard once about some other continent someplace. Didn't it have a couple or three countries on it? Oh, and I know the name of one, it's called The North Pole. Let's see, it had some capital or other... Oh, and of course the only reason not everybody in the world does things the way we do, is because they haven't had a chance to see how much better our way is. Scratch that last one, forget you ever saw it. Aw, maybe Evilnemesis is right. Seriously, that statement is probably pretty close.

I would like to make a prediction: Sometime within the next two days, someone will propose an amendment to the US constitution to ban same sex marriage. I predict 17 states, including the state of Kansas, will do everything in their power to advance that proposed amendment. I'm half kidding; which means I'm half serious.

Edit: Sorry, I guess I'm pessimistic today. But watching the Kansas government these last few years, I seriously expect them, if nobody else, to do everything in their power to rain on our parade. I don't think they'll succeed, but I do expect them to somehow drag things out. (Perhaps by recognizing same-sex marriages performed elsewhere as required by this court decision, while continuing to refuse to recognize same-sex marriages performed in Kansas itself.)

Gay marriage is now legal in all of the US. But is the devil in the details. My state (Kansas) has had legal gay marriage for a while, but refuses to honer the marriages performed in the state of Kansas itself. Married couples haven't even been able to get ID reflected their new legal names. I wonder if that will change, or if it will take yet another court ruling before they will finally acknowledge their own marriages? Hope I'm just too pessimistic.

In Japan, while it's probably more common for friends to call each other by their given (first) names, it's still pretty common for school friends to call each other by their family (last) names. Also, though I don't know how common it is outside of fiction, there are definitely cases where lovers (one or even both) will continue to call each other by family names for some time.

But talking about this series, the family names kind of define them, so don't they have to use family names or lose that element?

All 13 guest artists are listed on the back cover. In addition, each piece of art (they're at the front, all fantastic and detailed like commissioned artwork, not just a simple black and white image at the back) has the artist's name in a bottom corner, so you can definitely see who did what. When I upload it, I'll go ahead and list them in a post in the forum and include links to any with material on this site.

Edit: Though it would be nice to have links to those images on the artists' pages. They include several of the better liked artists on this site, including my personal top 3 favorites.

I have an upcoming doujin release that includes a color art section with art from fourteen different artists including the main artist. Also, 3 or 4 of the artists do not yet have any material on this site. When I upload this, should I list all fourteen artists (quite a list), or just the main artist? If just the main one, how would I connect the other 13 to their art?

One thought I had was to make it two releases, the color art section, and the rest of the doujin. That way just the main artist would be on the chapter (which actually has two stories, so it could be split 3 ways even) while all fourteen would be on the art section. That still has that big list on that section and I don't know if I really want to split it that way

I wonder if this is the Gold and Silver Tips series of shorts that Fujieda talked about in the author's note at the end of Amber Teahouse. Basically stories revisiting the other characters that appeared while having Sarasa and Seriho still present in the background.

I don't know; it might be, but the title page says simply "Chatting at the Amber Colored Teahouse," and the final page says "To be continued." It does put some focus on several other characters in the teahouse, but Sarasa and Seriho are definitely not just in the background. It seems to focus on their conversations with the other characters, and then later their interaction with each other. I haven't really tried to read it yet.

Chatting at the Amber Colored Teahouse has appeared in the current issue of Yuri Hime as a series, and I'm almost positive that it's new material. I'm suggesting this one to any scanlation group that has room to add another series. Does anyone know if anyone is going to do it? Lililicious maybe?

That was my reaction too... The "you can sell me too" from Ai was also too much for me.

To me it seems clear that she was desperate to somehow keep her with her. She was grabbing at anything she thought might have a chance of making that happen. Feel free to pick this apart; it's just the way I saw it.

Might be a DNS resolution issue.

I am using Chrome. I tried doing both of those including restarting Chrome, but it's still doing it. As a cross check, I tried using Internet Explorer, and the thumbnails loaded correctly with that browser, so it must be at my end. Later, I'll try flushing Chrome's DNS cache again and then immediately reboot and see what that does.

Edit: Clearing it and rebooting didn't work. If the problem doesn't get worse, then I can just ignore it. But it'd be nice if I could fix it.

And second, as I was reading this, I got no feeling at all that Ayuna actually loved Satomi. I know most people there (and here) would keep it secret to avoid trouble, but this feels like "keep it secret so I can have another girlfriend/boyfriend on the side."

And then her string of excuses for going to a mixer, followed up by "Or do you not trust me." She might as well have said "You're a bad person and don't love me if you don't trust me." I know people who are serious can question their partners trust, but the way Ayuna says this is exactly like a player trying to string a girl along so the they can play with someone(s) else also.

And Ayuna's character has nothing to do with her being bi. I myself was just recently kind of chasing after a bi-sexual girl, though nothing came of it.

There really are door-to-door evangelist, at least in the USA. Some Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door a few times a year and I always end up politely talking to them and accepting their literature rather than asking them to leave me alone. I guess that makes it partly my fault they keep coming, but I bet they would anyway.

It's not unusual for a Japanese person to refer to their sister-in-law as their sister, so we don't know for sure whether the woman was her sister, or her sister-in-law. Still, under the circumstances, I think she probably would have said sister-in-law if that's what she meant.

By the way, while I would never fall for my sister, it wouldn't bother me if the one I was interested in was in love with her sister while that sister was alive.

She wouldn't be the first teacher who is able to teach the academic part of something while being no good at the practical part. Still, the Home Economics class would definitely include cooking (or is it mostly cooking?), and could she really teach that very well when she can't cook herself?
