The trick to read this series is to read volume-by-volume rather than chapter-by-chapter if you ask me. If you focus on one volume at a time, you only have to remember four or five characters at most. If that makes any sense.

Like, in volume 2 you only have Chiharu, Ai, Maya and Izumi, in volume 3 you only have the two mains plus Yukina and Towako, etc.

Still, Haine's situation is a bit peculiar. If we consider that her mother is, say, 20 years older than her (so 33-34) and that Aika is 4-to-6 years older (so 18-to-20), that means there's a 13-to-16 year gap between Aika and her big sis, and that's a low estimate − i.e. Haine's mom could almost be her own sister's mother. Having her aunt be in the position of a sister must be pretty damn confusing for a teenager.

Anyways, this chapter could use an incest tag.

I know Canno is fond of uncanny pairings (hello, woman-and-foxgirl couple!) but I don't really see any romance here. It's just family bonding. Now if they smooch next chapter, I'll eat my hat, but I doubt it. >.>

Yes, this is AnoKiss, there are a lot of characters. We don't need to repeat the "can't keep up" joke every single time. Get over it already.

Regarding the chap, I'm torn between thinking of Haine as a realistic 13/14-year-old teenager or a self-entitled brat. >.> I guess both aren't mutually exclusive. There's a slightly ironic parallel with Yurine though: Yurine has trouble bonding with people because of a lack of passion, while Haine almost jeopardized her most important bond because of an excess of passion.

Since her name is deliberately obscured, we'll probably see her again, yeah. And I think there's more that happened than what we saw. #### doesn't just say that she still hates Yurine but that the other girls do too. I can buy #### being an immature dick who just can't let it go, but all the others too? Unless she's lying of course. But her grudge seems really disproportionate from what we've seen.

By the way, I really like how this chapter puts a new light on the end of chapter 1. "So you're saying stuff like that too, huh, Shiramine?"

Also, I think Genki Girl Ai doesn't get enough credit. She's the first and almost only person who doesn't treat Yurine as a rival, an idol, a crush or a sandbag, but simply as a friend. In a sense she's almost as important as Ayaka is to her.

@Marion: The edit button. You can use it. X) Regarding the names, I simply noticed that there was some sort of alliteration with ShiramInE AyAkA and KurosAwA YurInE. Otherwise, Shiramine means "white peak" and Kurosawa "black swamp"…

Oh hey, I didn't know someone had translated this. A bit disappointed to be honest, I prefered this as a one-page gag in AnoKiss. I don't dislike Mao though. At least she's conscious that she has... room for improvement as a human being. >.> And Canno has a fetish for tear-kissing it seems.

(Maybe a sequel can come where she wants to treat the high schooler? That'll be nice)

I like this kind of fairly subdued sort of drama where the Angst isn't realy the fault of anyone but simply because well feelings are complicated there's no villain here and honestly there's probably no perfect solution but neither is anyone realy to blame.
Not sure what exactly I'm trying to say but yeah enjoying this and curious to see how this ends

Pretty much my thoughts. I can't really see any happy ending here, no matter what route the story takes… And it wouldn't be anyone's fault. =[ Still, the drama is subdued enough that I don't find it annoying.

Now regarding Konatsu, I won't debate issues of consent and stuff, but it at least seems like that little "adventure" seriously fucked up her conception of love and sex. Her sleeping around is treated rather comically, but it doesn't sound healthy at all, especially for a high-school girl…

But back on Uta… did she really kiss Kaoru on that couch? It's not really clear… At any rate I don't ship her with Chloé. I rather see them as the "Yuzu and Harumin" of this series. And that's the first and last Citrus comparison I'll make.

PS: Also, yeah, some proofreading is badly needed. :x "It's just an aquantience"…

^^ I'm actually not sure we're gonna see Saori again. Little Theater characters rarely appear in the story proper, but that might change I guess. Otherwise, yeah, I don't think Haine has any romantic interest in Yurine; she's actually surprisingly lucid about her flaws.

About Yurine needing an actual friend… I thought about Ai (y'know, Chiharu's hyper BFF) but Ai doesn't seem to be the perceptive kind, so yeah. Ayaka realizing that she's really not that different from Yurine wouldn't be surprising either.

^ Well, that's how this series works; Canno develops old characters by connecting them to new ones who end up getting their own arc afterwards (Yurine being recruited by Yukina and Towako, Ayaka being interviewed by Sawa and Itsuki, Izumi meeting Amane...) If anything, this allows for smooth transitions.

Always nice to see their relationship evolve a little bit every time we see them. =] Now compare this chapter's title with chapter 2's title. That's why I love Yurine: each arc puts her in a different role towards different characters, and each of those characters makes her question herself a little more and makes her a little more "human". I hope we get more than two chapters about them this time.
