I recognised the title right away, but it took me a sec to realise that they translated it wrong. Calling them the Shinmai Sisters is like, as if Shinmai is their last name. But the point of shinmai shimai is just a pun, really, cus shinmai is like, new, and shimai is sisters. The new sisters.

The main point of the entire series, is the idea that mc obviously likes guys, has a boyfriend, and even under an exceptionally badly-timed first meeting, is completely charmed by "the other woman". Her talking about her "type" obviously shows that she's into women too.

Alice of Office Romance Division was a (informed) man hunter, but that doesn't have the tag, because it doesn't warrant it.

That's true, but it's probs cus no one bothered to tag it tbh, or cus it's not as present in the story.
But if it's about the part it plays, well, the main character and the other girl being bisexual is definitely an important plot element. As you can see from another previous comment, ppl who are biphobic are getting triggered, because well yeah, it's present enough so that you can't ignore it. The bisexual isn't just warranted when you see a character make out with both a guy and a girl or something, it shouldn't need such strict criteria to "warrant"/justify it being a tag.
It's like how this is tagged as such because the mc clearly has experience with men, and only had such experiences before plot happened, but decided that she preferred her female co-worker instead. It might not be "in your face", but it's certainly there.

That why yuri stories made by male author are not popular. The author seems to make yuri scenes in that series just becuz of lust rather than making it romantic or natural.

Why don't you add that non-lesbian author is rubbish when it comes to writing yuri? And we should not read coming-of-age story unless it was written by a known pedophile?

I was fairly amused, until I recognised the uniforms/art and realised it spoiled this [dropped] yuri series and I cringed really hard. It's not your fault tho, you wouldn't have known.
Good thing I don't remember the side characters, and hopefully, if it does get picked up again, I won't remember that this scene happened

Tho Happy Sugar Life's editor didnt discuss his series with as much depth as the conversation about Bloom Into You was, it was enjoyable to know the editors' thoughts on the works and bringing up the artists that they're working with

I almost forgot about this one, with little research I found out that the second volume came out in December for those interested, chances are Doki fansub will continue if they get theirs hands on it because they already worked with all the content from the first volume.

ALSO I love Hiruma, she’s got major gap moe going on with how she’s actually a cute softie and a huge pushover, but she’s still extremely gallant and dashing too. Her character is legit that she looks cool, but her actual personality isn't more on the blushy type. However, being cute and blushy isn’t not 100% just how she is on the inside/ how she looks at times, being charming IS genuinely part of her behaviour as well ❤
Tl;dr: She looks cool, is actually a cutie, but is genuinely gallant too. DOUBLE gap moe. She obviously had difficulty/was clumsly about her feelings, but she thought about Amane, and took that extra step regardless for her, that’s pretty dashing :’)

I like that Amane stayed true to her beliefs and feelings, despite that others generally don't share nor understand them. What crosses Himura's mind is similar yet different from Izumi's however, when they both received her offer. Sure, both thought "ay, this isn't what I wanted", but from Izumi's side, she already had someone she gave her heart too. Hiruma however, hm... She gave Amane's expression of love some thought, and clearly she respects her feelings, and values her happiness.

Nina also loves Amane, it's obvious, but unknowingly to Amane, Nina's agreement to her feelings/conditions is different; when she accepted her red ribbon, she had no 'rivals', so she didn't have to worry about it. Even if it was temporarily okay for her, on the long run though... She secretly rejects the principle behind Amane's feelings. It's easy to understand where Nina's coming from, but ouf, it's pretty sad for Amane. It's clear that at least from her side, she's been honest with Nina, and thought that she accepted her and her love.
This is why I appreciate Hiruma. Perhaps she didn't entirely accept Amane's love at first either, but at least she made the effort to understand that for Amane, it's what makes her happy. At least Hiruma went about her feelings in an honest way when she first answered them.

When Hiruma first refused, she was thinking of herself, her own feelings, what she wanted, which is fine of course, you have to be happy in your relationships after all. What I do admire however, if when she saw Amane again, and wondered about how she felt, and did it for her. Ofc, she didn't have to do it, she didn't have to accept and prioritise Amane's feelings (and it'd suck if Amane ended up with two girls being jealous and hating each other. Like Hiruma said, it'd make Amane sad) but she seemed genuine in accepting Amane for who she is, is conscious of Amane's love and what it entails and caring enough to want to make her happy.

I don't know if her own feelings about the reality of their relationship has changed, if she's fine with it now, or did she just wing it for the sake of Amane tho. But it'd be nice if she got Nina to accept her too maybe? Like, Nina and Hiruma don't have to feel the same way about each other, as they feel for Amane. Just accepting each other and their feelings for Amane, and Amane's sincere feelings for each of them is ideal, but Hiruma's gentle gesture of touching Nina's face surprised me, and made me wonder if perhaps Nina and Hiruma could develop a bond as well. She didn't react with outrage, confusion or anger, but just looked at this girl's anger and sadness and just felt sympathy for her and Amane. Hiruma's a kind girl, it's probably ideal that she is the one that accepted Amane, she might just help balance out the conflict. Given that chances are that Nina is Shin'ya, and that even when Nina confronted her, she mainly felt worry and sympathy, I feel like that it's likely that at the very least, Nina and Himura could get along, for the sake of Amane, or just for each other's sakes.

I've never seen polyamory as a real theme in a series before (except here and its sequel, but only one woman is polyamorous, her other partners aren't :/), I think it's super interesting that's actually actively questioned and it's so important, and not presented under the light of being "wrong". I'm eager to see where this goes, and I hope it turns out well tbh. I'm really happy with this arc actually, I'm glad Canno introduced Asakura, it's a really interesting theme. She looks a bit pushy when she first appeared, a bit antagonistic/an obstacle to the pair's plot, but she's a nice girl too, as we can see from this chapter. She's a kind and generous girl, this is simply how she loves, but sadly, it isn't commonly accepted. I had wondered what that sad smile in the Izumi/Chiharu chapter meant, but I suppose that seeing her with the same smile this chapter shows it isn't the first time that her love has been rejected, just for not being something that ppl reciprocated, or accepted at all. She mentioned that the love being acknowledged would have made her happy, even if they didn't return it. I'm sure that, as simple as that request seems, it was hard to accept and refused previously, even before Izumi. She seems like she has her mind made up, and perhaps have tried explaining it multiple times prior as well. It's a very simple thing, in a way, what would make her happiness, but she just can't reach it. Her smile seems smile, but brave. She isn't giving up her love, and I respect that.

This love triangle is probably the least cliché'd thing I've seen a quite a while, I'm not sure what you're complaining about tbh. It's legit the only love triangle I've ever seen written this way

Yeah it was out of nowhere and kinda dark considering how flufffy the rest of the story was in my opinion. Yeah, I'm just gonna read through the whole thing again. I enjoyed it a lot.

Yeah I got that same comment from someone else too, how they enjoyed the fluffier parts more and dreaded the sudden angst tying up the end. I liked the first parts too, tho I appreciate the them tackling their one very important issue in the end, even if I was very heavy. Like, the ending felt "earned".

I loved the final chapters of it too. Like you say, the ending felt like the characters "earned" it because not only they became a better version of themselves, but they actually fought to stay together in the end. Although, it did bothered me that the teacher was like 40 by the time she ended up living with a 20-something year old.

Rip her age, tho Otome being 20 is more important than Minato reaching 40 :')

I don't think I read the chapter where she graduated highschool. I just remember at the end she went back to live with her awful mother and then it shows her older with all these people who turn how to be Minato's family. (which I assume she lived with while in college?)

She left to live with the mom and did high school.
After high school, she came back to visit Minato (seeing her again after those few years). And then went and did uni, graduated, visited her dad I think? Tho I don't remember, but he gave her the wooden sign thing that looks like a family family? Idk if she lived with that family, I'm not sure where her university was tbh, I just assumed she lived in a dorm or something O-o
And then went back to Hoshikawa to find Minato and finally reunited with her. They were separated/didn't love together ever since her mom wanted her back.

I loved Hoshikawa Ginza District 4, but the ending was quite confusing in my opinion with the time skips it did.

Ah btw, the volume 3 extra (starting with this page, not the first two pages about the bathing incident, where were supposed to be read right in the beginning of volume 3, which is right before chapter 13 actually, not chapter 14. Idk what's going on, tbh, chapter 13 is numbered as "chapter 14 in my book actually, maybe they reorganised stuff in the tank volumes) takes place right after the girl finishes high school. It ordered kinda wrong on Dynasty, but they can't help it because the scanlators bundled the chapters as so, but chapter 19 is actually two chapters, titled Final Chapter Part A and Final Chapter Part B. The chapter in the "Volume 3 Extra" (titled Bonus Chapter) where you see the girl leave home and find Minato again was supposed to be read between the parts A and B of the last chapter, author's way of showing us that from the day she left home and finally moved back with Minato after university, they DID see each other again that one time, after graduating high school.
Idk if that could have confused you, but I have the volumes and French and I noticed that those chapters, and another one, were kind of wrongly organised on Dynasty. I suppose that bundling them all up as "vol 3 extras" isn't technically wrong per say, but in the actual reading order, it is. The continuity gets fucked up because it's not the order you were meant to read them.

Tbh I feel like the cat girl is Nina. Like I felt like it could have been Asakura, but she doesn't seem like she knew of her/"acted" well when Hiruma told her about it, so I think it could be Nina, because Shin'ya grew silent on both instances of Hiruma mentioning her situation with Nina/Amane. She could also be an entirely new 4th character but I feel like it's unlikely tbh
