How was it possible for Kou to be so dense when everyone else is so aware of Rin's feelings that they feel awkward even talking about romance movies in front of her?

Kou is reaching the density of a black hole. The first scene I've seen of New game! was the one where Hifumi was thinking to herself that the reason Kou and Rin couldn't get further in their relationship was because Kou's so dense... I hope they will make it happen in the end. When I think about it, it's a pretty dick move to make her move away to keep teasing yurifa..lovers. At least, she evolves as a character in the context of the story!

To be fair, we had some nice moments when Rin (almost) confessed to her. The scene in the anime was even more emotional, loved it.

I don't know if it's popular enough? When I saw all the volumes on tMnR's twitter, I want to buy some but I don't know if she's selling enough to be transposed in anime; or are there more conditions?

Also, noob question, is it serialised or is it considered as a doujin?

I just realised that, in addition to the chapters that were translated by another team, there are also numerous chapters that were left out by them. I TOTALLY JUST BOUGHT THE PHYSICAL COPY OF THIS

It's really good and in A4 format <3. I've only bought two physical doujins, I wonder what's the proportion of A5 and A4 format, but I feel like this one is some kind of special. Or perhaps it's just because it's my first doujin purchase that I'm imagining it.

Apparently, the title on the official book cover is "Secret crush on my sister" - which would be less ominous than the current translated title.

Judging by the alternate title given on the website, the general sense seems to be something about Uta's feelings not able to reach Kaoru. If you think about it, the term secret also implies something along those lines but looks a bit more hopeful than the other two. I'm curious to have one of the translator's input on the translation (if you have the time <3).

She kissed Kaoru! Well, I wonder if it was since it's kind of hidden... Well, she is doing nothing to help her feelings to reach Kaoru, but she is trying to forget or let them die, doesn't she? So there is the need to have external event helping her, if the character was created passive and with a tendency to give up easily, perhaps.

Reiichi has not nearly been fleshed out enough as a character for it to make sense to want him to turn out one way or the other.

When people don't do much, you can only assume how they behave/think. Since there was not much indicating that he could be a jerk (in design or behaviour), I think people (me included) went to assume the best of him; if anything, he seemed like a chill dude even if a bit apathetic other thought he was nice but I didn't think so.

Perhaps it had to do with people hoping to have male character as a decent human being in yuri (which, funnily enough, happens in Netsuzou trap :3), or perhaps it's just difficult to prevent ourselves from judging a character even on a low material.

It makes me realise how sad it is that they're just dancing around each other for so long. Shiramine is so gay for Kurosawa almost from the start and she has yet to acknowledge it. Well, I guess that's the burden of being a tsundere even in your own mind! And what drawn me to this series at first.

The side couples also gives this impression that the things aren't going fast enough, I guess, but I love it too. Even if they feel like one shots "because the author doesn't know how to continue her story" or whatever, they're decent one shots!

Who is this woman in the top right panel? She is clearly older and Kaoru seems younger than her present self. It could be Kaoru's mom or whoever else, but it also could be Uta's mother. Now, what if Kaoru had some kind of unfaithful relationship with Uta's mum? Probably thanks to the mum initiative since Kaoru was probably in love with Reiichi.

Or perhaps, even more convoluted, she was in love/fell in love with the mum, but after the divorce, she went for Reiichi as a substitute but seeing as he's not really a woman, she is gradually falling for Uta.. Or something else.

Well, I still think this scene is important somehow, the question is why!

I'm a bit confused about your use of the word "shock". I mean, she was just distracted and slipped because of the rain, it's not like she fainted from shock.

There are also numerous hints of Kaoru being really attached to Uta, but perhaps she's just a needy girl who needs to have affection all the time. That said, I hope it's cheating but with a good reasons. I don't see what a misunderstanding would add to the story, but perhaps the author will prove me wrong.

I also remember, perhaps wrongly, a post in there saying the author said something along "it wouldn't be a yuri story if nothing happened" - so it was probably programmed to happen, the question is how. But perhaps, once again, the author will prove me wrong and go in a different direction, who knows.

Morally bad story (for whatever that means) != bad story. Same with despicable character != bad character, etc.

That said, if, from what I read, marriage in Japan is probably similar to having your driving license and does not (most of the time) involves sentiments. Sooo, is it really bad to cheat in that context? There are of course some legally stuff like you are actually agreeing to some kind of contract, but I do wonder if this could be a case where we're projecting too much of our western morals on a Japanese story.

Or it's just supposed to be some kind of sweet, forbidden love that is just morally wrong nonetheless.

Ch 7 was awesome, such (short but) heavy Angst and such a cute relief of it.

There was some, but I don't know if the comedy kind of negates it. I still felt it as usual but since it's supposed to be a funny one, I don't know if people would take it seriously.

You can be intelligent and be really stupid at the same time, yes! Also, her kind of intelligence has to do more with logic and stuff more than emotions, perhaps.

You know, Shiramine doesn't look too confused on page 30, not even surprised -- more like saddened, and a little bit frustrated that it took Kurosawa so long to realize her feelings. It makes me think that unlike her, Shiramine has long understood and made peace with her feelings, and has been only waiting for Kurosawa to make the first move in some way.

I'd say that Shiramine's just upset that Yurine is just having her way? I don't know if Shiramine is aware of her feelings, though. What's the idea about Tsundere? Are they aware of their feelings and jsut too damn proud to admit them or are they so far in denial that they don't even acknowledge their feelings deep inside?

I'm honestly a bit confused too… She's been saying "I love you" as a morning greeting to Ayaka for 36 chaps, so why can she no longer say it now?

The first thing that comes to mind is the fact that this is time it would actually be real/serious. Before, even if it looked like Yurine was attached to Shiramine, perhaps she was fooling around the only one whom she could acknowledge as a friend. But now she has fallen for her for good, that's what her reaction in chapter 35 and her inner thoughts meant, after all.

I suggest you to watch There final hours, it's pretty intense and bleak at the same time; but really nice.

I hope they do! Well, at first I think I would've loved to see something similar to what you're describing. In addition to have the story fitting the title, it would've been a nice conclusion to a depressing and bittersweet story. But with Ackerman's post, I think it's possible the love was there before and now I want it to be happening.

Reiichi is very observant as a person. He knew the "closeness" between Kaoru and Uta to which this maybe a possible reason why he is emotionally detached and turned down Kaoru several times. You see the different expression when he is alone with Kaoru when the latter showed expressions of concern, attention and jealousy. But this is only short-lived because Uta always comes in between, physically or not.

That would be a very good point. I mean, we've already seen the brother being suspicious of the two without really expressing it clearly (or without us being in his head), so it's possible he already suspects that not only Uta has a thing for his wife but also the other way around.

The awkwardness between Reiichi and Kaoru is for me not acceptable as spouses. I was asking why. And the answers for me are #1,2,3. Then why did Reiichi marry Kaoru? Your guess might be mine as well. :)

Perhaps out of kindness for both Kaoru and Uta, and also no better person to be with at the moment? I mean, maybe the only reason Kaoru was going after him was (unconsciously) to be with Uta as well? Therefore, we could imagine something a bit far-fetched like Reiichi accepting to make some kind of family with the two so they could be all together while having a safe/comfy situation - the only drawback meaning he couldn't really be emotionally engaged with Kaoru because there would be the risk, someday, that she realises what she is feeling.

Okay that does look pretty far-fetched, but I like the idea of him realising it before Kaoru, because that would make less of an asshole to cheat on her : he also needs to be with somebody that really loves him or somebody that he loves. The big problem, except the fact that this is only pure speculation, is that we don't know what happened with Uta and Reiichi's parents and it's pretty obvious it has a big role to play in the story.
